BOOK CHALLENGES What are book challenges, you ask? They are reading goals, a way to keep ourselves reading and learning while having fun! You can set yourself a number of pages to read- say, 10,000 pages. Keep track of the books you read, and how many pages there were of story. Or perhaps you'll challenge yourself to read 10 novels at least 800 pages long. Maybe you want to read 250 chapters in the next month or so? Choose a goal and set up your post- start that reading goal today, don't waste another minute.
While fun, book challenges are an easy way to keep yourself reading on your own terms. Many people will agree- it's easier and more fun to choose your own reading material than it is to have it assigned to you.HOW THIS WORKS Post, stating your goal and the time you wish to finish in. Your name, goal, and finish date will be posted in the second post. We'll keep track of your progress if you'll keep us updated- re-post whenever you hit a milestone, if at all possible.
Miss your goal? How close were you? What can you do differently to finish next time? Make it a pact to finish your next goal, or complete the current one behind-schedule.
YES, Fanfiction does count towards your goal.
NO, your choice of books/fanfiction do not have to be Harry Potter related.ALSO : REVIEWING Here we'll post a lengthy Harry Potter fanfic to read and review, if you'd like. Feel free to suggest one.
When posting, feel free to suggest fanfiction, books, or give your own reviews on those you've read and recommend. Maybe someone else would like to hear your opinion, or will thank you for opening their eyes to a fanfiction they would have otherwise skipped over.

I would join...but I tend to skive off when it comes to recording goals...also, with school starting...I'm not sure if I will be able to read as much...

You can always choose a small goal, if need be. You could /probably/ count textbook reading as part of your goal too, if you wanted. biggrin

Ooh, I am confused (this is embarrasing) about the second post thingy. When looking at yours, I couldn't tell the difference between the first post amd the second post, except stuff was moved around... can you explain it better please? I'm sorry!! sweatdrop

The difference:
2nd post is for posting a list of everybody's goals all in one area, so we can keep track of how everyone else is doing without having to search out their posts individually.
And the third post is my own post for the details and such- you make your own and update every once in a while, so I can update the 2nd with how you're doing.

500 pages till sep 28 (my bday), most will be manga and fanfiction. So how about 300 pgs manga/fanfiction and 200 pgs in books.
