Nothing would ever feel as good as the rush he experienced each time he took another being's life. For food, just for the hell of it..it was all the same to Jaegar. Albeit, he didn't pick fights with every wolf he happened to pass by during his travels, but he wasn't above killing every rat, mouse, bird, rabbit, or anything other small critter that he happened to see. The wolf was a born hunter, anyone could see that. A little too eager to kill regardless of whether it was meant to be food or not, but a good hunter nonetheless. The silent, reserved hunter, the one who would hunt for hours on end just to have the taste of blood embedded into his mouth by the time he went to sleep each night.

It didn't mean he wasn't kind-hearted, though. It was odd, really, that a wolf like himself, though he preferred not to talk, could be so...pleasant. There was nothing at all seemingly dangerous or threatening about him, without the possible exception of when he was out hunting. Even if he usually only spoke when being forced into conversation, he came off as a mild-mannered, big softy of a wolf. A bit weird, but true.

Jaegar, after wandering away from the woods that evening, sported a nice bit of blood spilled down his front. The leg of another wolf dangled from his mouth, and he even walked with an extra bit of sway to make the leg more noticeable. It was his trophy, considering he had killed the wolf that had attacked him out of no where while snacking on a bird he had caught.

Little did he know, as he continued to wander aimlessly, that he was in the boneyard belonging to Irons and the Bones pack.

"Well now, this makes things... interesting..." Irons said as he walked in the shadows, chucking to himself. He had watched the wolf for a long time now. Hunting and killing. Destroying life wherever he went. Just what Irons had been looking for in a new hunter. Interest peaked with him.

He followed the wolf, more obviously this time, wanting to know if the wolf would catch on. This was a test. He couldn't help but wonder if the wolf would pass.

All ideas of being followed by another wolf had surpassed him. Never in his life would he have ever though of being followed, and in the time that the alpha had watched him, he had been completely oblivious.

As Jaegar continued on, his ears twitched with every sound, and his nose sniffed away at the wind. Any signs of animal life would be quite lovely, seeing how he needed a new prize to sport. His wolf's leg was beginning to collect flies. With an almost eerie abruptness, he stopped in his tracks. There was definitely something nearby. Not a bear, not a deer, moose, penguin, tiger, or any other bizarre creature that he either knew or didn't know of; but a wolf. The smell was quite unmistakably that of another wolf.

Crouching down onto his haunched, he looked from side to side with narrows eyes, before slowly turning around as to catch everything in sight. His teeth were bared and his hackles rose, making the already seemingly strong wolf appear even larger than he was. A low, gruff growl rumbled up from the back of his throat. Something was there, and he was determined to either scare it out of hiding, or to go hunt it down and kill it.

Irons chuckled. Maybe not perfect form, but that could all be fixed. Aleni could beat the worthless aspects from this wolf for certain. Now Irons had merely to recruit him into the Bones Pack... an excellent speciment he would be. A good provider for his pack, but that would vastly depend on the type of wolf this one was.

If he proved to be... less than desirable, Irons would simply kill him. Things were far simpler that way. Besides, Irons wouldn't want to damage his reputation by being a merciful Alpha. The very idea... disgusted him, in more ways than one. Unforgivable, to allow weakness into his pack.

"You're good... you could be better, of course, but you are good none-the-less, hunter."

Jaegar's claws dug into the soft earth, keeping himself steady as he lowered himself closer to the ground, eyes searching. Searching...searching for a wolf that had to be there. The hunter had what he thought to be a well-trained nose; not much went past him, and picking up a trail was as easy as breathing.

However, much unlike a few other situations that involved wolves following him, the grotesque wolf wasn't just going to lunge forward and snatch at everything and anything. With each second that he scanned his surroundings for any hint of fur or flesh, Jaegar grew more and more suspicious. It had to be an enemy, a nemesis, someone who had been sent out to kill him. How could it not be? Although only a ruthless killer when it didn't come to wolves, he was well aware that the ones that had attacked him, which he killed, belonged to packs. What if they had seen him kill their 'beloved' packmate? The hunter wouldn't put it past any good pack to hunt him down for it.

The alpha's words caused him to frown, his head turning toward that sound of the other's voice. All the while, he removed himself from his crouched position in an attempt to prove to the wolf that he was indeed a large wolf, even if that could be seen while he was crouching. "Jaegar does not care what random chelloveck has to say."

"And a miserable soul on top of that," Irons chuckled, his voice a calm growl that threatened violence if Jaegar tried anything, "But I am no simple random wolf hunter. I am Irons, Alpha of the Bones Pack and you... roam on my land. Kill my dinner. I would ask for an explination... though by the look of you, I doubt you'd give me one."

Irons sat down, looking at the wolf through shadow, smiling despite himself. Gutsey, this wolf. Amusing, of course when they were feisty. He would either prove to be able to back up his standing of power, or he would fail miserbly and only be a poser of strength. Which Irons would be all to happy to kill. How could he not be?

Pathetic, wolves pretending to be strong when they weren't. Pathetic and easy for Irons to destroy, if need be. After all, undefeated was what the leader of the Bones Pack had to be in order to stay alive. A task which always kept the Alpha on his toes.

Miserable soul? The wolf, who he assumed had to be quite cowardly seeing how he had yet to move from the shadows, had no idea as to who he was. Miserable didn't sound like the right word, but fun loving, bunny cuddling, and without a care in the world weren't quite right, either. The comment about hunting on this wolf's pack lands caused him to take a quick glance around before padding off in the direction from which he had come from.

"Jaegar apologizes to Bones Pack alpha." Yet another wrong statement was made about his being. Although the hunter only really spoke when he felt it was necessary, he was willing to reason with this Irons fellow. "Explanation? Jaegar wasn't aware that he was in pack territory." A simple, honest answer. But if a fight was what this so-called alpha wanted, he'd be willing to oblige.

Pausing, he bent down to pick up the wolf's leg he had dropped, staring at the shadowed place the wolf's voice was coming from. "Jaegar will be sure never to return to Irons' land."

"You... misunderstand me," Irons mentioned, emerging from the shadows at last, looking sheek and clean... and also very big, and very strong indeed, as he had a tendancy to be, when he was in the mood for it that was, "When I spoke of your hunting skills, I was... more or less contemplating something to myself. I should have been more direct." Though there was nothing apologetic about Irons or his stance, he figured he might as well pretend that there was.

"Are you part of a pack... Jaegar? Isn't that what you called yourself?" Irons asked, mildly curious and getting more so every second. This wolf... the kill had been impressive. Impressive enough that Irons would call him an expert hunter. Perhaps not as good as Aleni... but that was to be seen, depending on how the wolf answered his next few questions.
