Greetings, fellow Modists! Earlier today, the topic of Magic: the Gathering came up in the DYBIM thread, and we soon discovered that there wasn't any sort of organized Modist meeting ground for it (and if there is, my apologies!). There's a few of ya who I know play Magic, so we figured a place to organize some games between Modists would be a good idea. And here we are!

This is the program I use. If you've got the official Magic: the Gathering Online program, great! I don't use it, though, and I'm betting a few other folk don't either, what with the expenses involved with keeping a real life and online set of cards up to date. Apprentice allows us to just mess around with cards, with a sort of house rules thing for wha's allowed and what's not.

I suspect someday we'll get a tourney running on here, if we've got enough people. And, if you don't know the game but would like to and there aren't any card shops near ya (or any good ones at least), I'm sure there'll be plenty of folk willing to teach ya.

So, what say you?

Hey, I agree. I'll play you when I have my deck built.

Alrighty, sounds good. We can also do sealed deck games, like Katane and I did, which I'm finding to be a good deal of fun.

Also, anybody who wants to join in, make sure to post your IM screen names on here or have it available off that little toolbar next to our names. We have to trade IP addresses with Apprentice (and I think we're all capable of trusting each other) and it's best to do that over AIM or MSN or Yahoo.

When I go home for Thanksgiving, I'll take out all my cards and look at them so I can build a deck.

I just don't think I can do it without the actual physical cards to look at. whee I don't know any of them that well.

Ooo, that's a while off. But okay. I was hoping to have things put together to the point that we'd get a Modist Lorwyn tourney going. Something like a sealed letter for a prize or somesuch.

I would be down for some magic, so long as you give me a couple games to get my groove back.

We can get some games set up for the folk who are returning to the game as well as those getting used to Apprentice. Janus prefers MWS, I prefer Apprentice. In the end, whichever everyone likes better will be the default choice for playing.

I've always been an apprentice supporter, myself.

I've been tuning my Sliver deck. If I get good draws, it is very fast.

I'll build a deck when I have time. I still haven't gotten to. But I can't promise it will be soon.

Messiah: Rock. Apprentice should have the official Lorwyn patch soon. And if the prerelease is any indication, it should be lots of fun. I'm debating on whether the Modist Lorwyn tourney should be sealed or constructed. Sealed is a lot of fun.

Let me know whats up, I just got back into magic a couple days ago after a 3yr break so I've no idea what the new sets are and everything they entail. I do know they got lazy and reprinted a crap load of cards in time spiral and for some reason brought back snow based abilities.
