Continuing the theme of the Futurama love seen in this guild; what's your favorite episode that could be considered "emotional" because of its ending? Brief summaries will be included.
"Jurassic Bark" - Long story short: Fry finds Seymour, his dog from 1999, as a fossill and contemplates bringing back to life. Fry changes his mind in the end figuring Seymour probably forgot all about him. An extended flashback shows Seymour waiting outside of Panucci's Pizza for Fry to return as years pass. Personally, this episode absolutely destroyed me; it was probably the saddest animated program I've ever seen.
"Luck of the Fryrish" - Fry is convinced his older brother Yancy stole his identity, as well as a lucky 7-leaf clover, after reading about a monument dedicated to Phillip J. Fry, a famed space explorer. Fry eventually learns the monument is to his nephew whom Yancy named after him.
"Leela's Homeworld" - Leela learns she's not an alien, but a mutant who was left at the Orphanarium by her parents hoping she could find a better life on the surface. A montage of Leela's parents looking out for her as she grew up closes the episode.
"Time Keeps On Slipping" - As a result of an experiment gone awry, time jumps around at random. Fry and Leela end up marrying, though neither one is sure how it happened. Fry eventually learns that he rearranged some stars to spell out a love message to Leela, but the message is destroyed before he can call Leela's attention to it.
My pick is Time Keeps On Slipping.

I don't think you can beat the ending to "Jurassic Bark." That has to be the saddest episode of any cartoon show I've ever seen. "Time Keeps On Slipping" is a close second though.

I'd go with Jurassic Bark. Luck of the Fryish is sad but he learns that the "Phillip J Fry" everyone knew was his nephew and namesake.
In the former, he never knew that his dog waited for him. He just thought he had a full life.
Leela's homeworld wasn't really sad. It was touching, though.

Bonus Burger I don't think you can beat the ending to "Jurassic Bark." That has to be the saddest episode of any cartoon show I've ever seen. You got that right. I remember I read about the episode before I saw it for the first time and even just reading about it got to me. Then I finally saw the episode a couple years ago with a couple friends of mine one night on [adult swim]. As soon as the first flashback started, I knew what episode it was and realized there was no turning back. About 25 minutes later as the episode ended, the three of us sat there - a trio of 20-something college students - depressed as all hell at what we had just watched. I'll admit, the episode still tugs at my heartstrings whenever I watch it on the season 4 DVD set... even with the commentary. *wipes a tear away*

Actually, my favorite emotional ending is the one to "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings." Yeah, I know, I'm a sap.

I agree. The devil hands episode was a pretty sad ending. I think the saddest endings were the ones where you can actually feel for the characters, and be on their same emotional level.

The devil's hands was also the happiest ending, because cartoon Fry and Leela walk off to the sunset, with simplistic music in the background.
