Run, run run run. Run until her legs burned, her lungs begged for air, her muscles quivered. Run so far, and so fast, and so hard that she just might forget that her family was broken now. Her mother had left her father, and she was at least a little to blame. Or so mother had said...she was displeased that Akila had taken up with such an older stallion. So Akila ran, mane rippling back in the wind until she finally stumbled to a halt. She reached down shakily to nuzzle at her left foreleg, checking to make sure the pair of feathers attached was still secure.

Lovey had spent the day simply relaxing and enjoying being. Her little daughters, all four, had grown and flown the coup and the mamma felt the need just to be. Sometime soon she'd geto ut and about and discover more of the world but for now? Daydreaming and napping filled her with a happy content. Something caught her attention not to far away and she blinked, that mare.. she seemed rather familiar. It seemed strange for one to be bolting like that so Lovey gave a soft umph and took off at a leisurely trot, approaching the other with caution. Something told her they'd met before though...

A rustle in the grass brought Akila's ears to attention, swiveling to catch the sound better. Lifting her head, cerulean eyes brightened just a bit at the sight of a familiar mare. That day at the beach was a happy memory among many that were now bittersweet... "Hi, Lovey." Now that she was still, Akila felt her queasiness even more acutely. She tried to ignore it, though. It'd get better when she found Tsani. It had to.

Lovey's eyes widened a bit as the mare spoke to her with such well, familiarity. It took her a moment or two of squinting to realize that the mare was none other than the sweet blue filly she had played with in the water so long ago. It definately had been a fun day after an even longer day of basket sitting her fully grown Ignacia. She smiled brightly and moved forward to give the mare a fond nuzzle on the neck and to look her over with the critical ability only a mother could develop, "What's wrong pretty little one?" Akila certainly wasn't little anymore, but hey.. pretty wasn't bad.

Akila swallowed hard as her eyes fell and her face clouded. "I met someone...and...mom left. For good. So did my sister." She squeezed her eyes shut, attempting to dispel the memory of her father's stricken voice as he told her the news. Guilt washed over her despite her determination, the same guilt that had spurred her to flee her childhood home. "I've got to find him..."

Lovey eyed the young mare and felt her heart tug with sadness. The fact that a mother could leave a family made her think of her little Ignacia who had been abandoned at birth. "But you have someone and your father dearling." If all of her family and this one she had met was gone, oh dear, that would require a whole lot of time to fix. "Do you have any memories that you may cherish? Not everything can be bad." Lovey had had her own children and she saw the telltale signs of "meeting" someone, but until Akila felt better and would like the pregnancy she'd keep quiet.

"Yes, but...at the same time, they're painful. I don't think I'd ever actually known something to be bittersweet before all this happened." Akila lowered her head a little. "Daddy...father...he was in so much pain. I just had to get away." A pale hoof pawed at the ground, but without much vigor. She was tired...it was nearly time to crash again, to sleep until she could force herself to go further. "But Tsani...I've got to find him. He needs to know."
