The rarity corresponds to all the Pokemon from that line. Meaning that if I say Pichu is uncommon, then Pikachu and Raichu are uncommon too.

My two fave starters are Chikorita and Torchic and their evolution ^^ As for other pokemons... I agree I'd love to see ponyta and rapidash ^^ oh and I recently began to LOVE Zubat and its evolution too, since I finally decided to capture one (I had always avoided it in all of the other pkmn games lol) and realised how strong Crobat is =D

Hey, have you thought on a battle method yet? If I had a pokemon shop, I'd base my battle system on the card game because it'd be a simple way to use the weaknesses and resistances. I have a few ideas if you want them....

Funny, just yesterday I was considering how I would draw Zubat, and I agree Crobat is pretty awesome for competitive battling. :3


Casual battles are freestyle (You don't need to gain exp to evolve here. Just RP even if it's not battling), but other methods may be implemented for contests and tournaments. And I'd love to hear your ideas! They're very much welcome. 3nodding

Well, for a battle system based on the card games, there would be a few changes needed from the actual tcg. I like the cards, but I always felt they lacked compared to the real game. All the pokemon types should be included instead of just a few for one. The attacks known could be pre-set but it would be a lot more fun to have the pokemon learn them as they grow.

For contests and tournaments, there should be a official set of attacks a pokemon has, that it learned from experience, RP, maybe even a TM or HM it's trainer bought, that the trainer would use in the battle. About how to calculate the damage, well, the tcg has it right with using a fixed amount of damage with each attacks, with some having bonus effect with luck. It'd be easy to include the special effects (poisoned, burned, paralyzed, frozen, asleep and confused). Or maybe using the same method as the Pokemon Center, but with the Weaknesses/resistances added in. But then a tackle has the same attack power as hyperbeam and that's a little ridiculous, isn't it? Maybe an attack like tackle could have a base power (using the dices) of 1-6, and stronger attack would use bigger dices. You could make a table of some sort we could use to know which dices use or something.

Well, I'm not very articulated and it's all a little vague in my mind and I know it may seems to be more trouble than it's worth but I think it'd make the whole thing a lot cooler to include details like this and then, people could still have casual "free-style" battle too if they want. I never got into RPing much but I think something detailled like that would keep me interrested. I dunno about other people here, maybe having a poll of some sort to see if a more complex battle system would be wanted or not would be a good idea 3nodding

I would love the idea of battles oriented more to the competitive side, at least in tournaments where people compete for prizes. ;D Hmmm...TMs are simple enough, I like that.

I agree about base powers. Besides, it encourages people to put together balanced, and believable movesets. Where strong attacks may be less accurate or have nasty side-effects.

Status effects are essential to competitive battles, so I think they should be included, like you say.

I really need to think of a system. But there's still quite a while until I hold a tourny here, so there's a lot of time. whee

Cubone and Marowak would be awesome, they're some of my favourite ^^ Pidgey or Swellow, or one of the bird pokemon.

I'd really like to see a Dratini too or a Swablu.
