I dunno if I'm the only one who's ever thought of this, but I've always kinda listened to sports on the radio and wondered how awesome it would be to have a quidditch station?
So I thought I could organize a group of people who thought they might be able to write quidditch commentary, totally making it up off the top of their heads. Whether it be a house vs. house game, or for the World cup! Hold auditions for just some basic commentary writing skills?
If we had a team of 5 or 6 people writing 2 games a month, and recording them somehow onto their computer, it might be possible to clean them up and add some cheering fan sound effects to make it sound like a real game or something! Then post them up onto a thread once a week or so. One game per week, and if there's multiple people writing, then it never get's boring for the person writing because they get to listen to other people's games as well, not always having to come up with all of them.
So what do you guys think? Good idea? Any sign-ups? 3nodding

Audition dates!
I shall start accepting auditions this Saturday... Please PM them to me, so that there's no possibility of idea theft. I doubt any of you would, but just to make absolutely sure.
Please clearly label the subject or I might not get around to reading it until it's too late. Not that I'd purposely avoid anything not labeled Quidditch, but I'm going to be checking my PMs with this in first priority right now.
I'm going to say that I'll stop taking auditions for the first round around the 22nd. That gives y'all two weeks for this first batch for the Quidditch section auditions, and you'll have from then until Halloween to come up with your broadcast if you make it. The reason it's so time loose is because I'm currently Assistant directing a major production at my school and I don't know how much actual time I can totally spend on this other than weekends until after the 15th of October, so I'll be kinda unable to throw everything onto podcast or something until then.
That's the tennative schedule. I'm not gonna change the audition start date on Saturday, but I might end up saying that the auditions are extended until whenever, or cut off by a few days. Doubt the latter.
If there's any questions, feel free to PM me also (subject-- question or somethin), or post it here!

That would be sooo cool... Hee hee I'd audition but I think I might be really random, and probably a little um... you know.. off beat... like really really off beat.. like, insane. I might make someone swallow the snitch like Harry did or something like that... hee hee

Awkward-- Well, I don't expect anyone to get a perfect announcement on the first try (ie, the audition) so there's going to be some leeway. My suggestion is to check out other sports announcers and see how the capture the game. If you want to reread some of the Lee Jordan scenes if you get stuck that's a good idea too!
Aeariel-- Random is good! Who wants to listen to the same match over and over? Random is, well, normal in Harry Potter for the most part. There's so much that can be done with that sport. Every once in a while, everything needs to get shaken up. And hey, maybe people will want to listen just for the sake of hearing what crazy antics the team comes up with this time!

I will try. I will probably be just like Luna though. haha. Very different. i.e Ahh.. Harry has nice robes. Oh look, Ron looks nice. Yeah. That's how mine would be. haha yup

I'm not very good with comenteering...
once this thing gets up and running, you could turn it into a podcast!
It would be cool if you did an entire wizard news segment...like....between commercial breaks and such...
and FOR the commercial breaks, you could have wizerding commercials!!
I WOULD be able to help with that...
