Dante had woken up from the sound of whispers...
What he and his siblings were, and what his mother was, seemed to be a large topic of discussion. Anything dysfunctional or different tended to attract others, and he grumbled as he moved away from where the gossipy ladies stood. As he walked, they saw his gray figure, and he heard them chatter about his wings and spikes on his body. That meant that he had his 'father' traits. His father, who was apparently entirely evil, and disgustingly ruthless. His father, who if was aware of the childrens birth, would kill instantly. To his father, they were all dead.
Despite that, Dante wandered around the area alone, and since he saw so many clumps of families around, he knew that it must have been a safe area.
But still.. the eyes of others got annoying after awhile, and he found a shaded area that was far to the right of where the families stood. He actually enjoyed looking and being different, and he hoped that one day he would appreciate all of this staring!

She had burst out into the scene from the highest left point possible of the little field that broke the forest in a large gash. A burst of leaves and the sound of metal on glass exploded into the clearing as she cleared the little hole. She didn't know she could do it - it was the idea that it wasn't possible that made her try.
A triumphant smile curved the strange maw she was born with, as her eyes looked at the hole. But it was the sudden sounds behind her that soured the euphoric mood. Turning her head, she could see them backed up, looking at her with those eyes. Whispering those words. She heard it often, those discontent words, what was she, could she see, hear, smell? Strange little creature, get away!
She wouldn't have it today, and, giving a discontent growl towards them; she turned around, and with her lure tail held high, she meandered off, the sounds of the gossippers discomfort with her only fueling her defiance. It was only until she got into the quieter part of the area that she relaxed, lowering her tail to a slightly less defiant, position, before breathing a heavy sigh, and shaking her head.
"They'll rip anything, apart, won't they?" She asked, to no one in particular. Maybe herself.

Dante, who at this point was watching from behind a bush, was surprised to see company appear so suddenly. His initial reaction was to hide himself just in case the other Soquili was dangerous, but when he looked closer, he saw a very strange looking filly!
It seemed he wasn't the only unique one around here, and he suddenly felt interested in everything about the gal! Though, at her little speech to herself, he only lifted a brow as he walked out, and moved his hair out of his eyes to get a better look.
"Are you.. alright?"
Yes, that was a good enough question, and he examined the strange details that the filly had all of her body. It made him feel not so weird, and it was nice!
"I'm hiding over here.. please don't give my spot away." he then said, with a slight pout for his expression.

At first, his initial query startled the little filly, she had iinvisioned that this little corner of the love infested field had been devoid of all others so she could have some time to be herself. Up to now, she hadn't met another who truely understood her, besides her parental units, and her siblings.
With a start, she looked over her shoulder at whatever had decided to invade her private moment, hoping it wasn't another whispering, chittering mare, asking her stupid questions. But when she spotted him, her eyebrow line rose. She really hadn't expected another unique foal to be around - especially one not related to her. This intregued her greatly.
with a stretched smile, she happily turned towards him, nodding her head softly, teal hair dancing infront of her three right eyes.
"Oh! Oh, yes, I'm okay - just idly talking about the murmuring fools over yonder." She stated bluntly, for she really liked getting to the point at times. "But don't worry, I'm not interested in them; I really don't want to put up with their words and whispers. I hear enough of it..." she started, frowning, before shaking her head. "You look just as peculiar, I'm sure you hear your full of it."

Dante acted as though the filly had made his day, and he scrambled to move closer to her, as if inviting himself into her personal space. "I can't take the whispers anymore! And I thought I was the only one...who had to deal with it.." With bright eyes, he was almost teary, only because he could never truly express how he felt to his mother and family. And here was a random filly, who knew exactly what was plaguing at his thoughts, without even meeting him yet! He felt blessed for the luck, since that sort of thing never happened to him.
Dante wanted to be seen as strong to his family, so when his mother would ask him if he was alright, he always said yes, no matter how frustrated or horrible he felt. But, the front could only last when necessary, so he would wander off on his own when he felt conflicted and teary-eyed.
"You are right, they are fools! There is nothing wrong with us. Unique is amazing." Or at least, that sort of thinking was what helped Dante sleep at night. "What's your name? I really like how bright your coloring is." he let his eyes dart at all of the crazy details that the female had. "My name is Dante!"

The sudden boost of energy and the swift movements of the colt sent Tal into a small tizzy, and watching him suddenly come cloer, she jumped back a few steps before realizing how happy he was to see someone else. Especially when she realized that he was also mocking those who only mocked them. It made her a very happy filly.
Taking a few steps forward again, her maw stretched out into what was commonly now called her "Never-ending smile" before her lure tail acted accordingly, and started to sway behind her in content. "Your kidding, they actually DO talk about you? But you look so cool! I don't see why you're the target for such hard words." she stated, estactically, before giving him a once over, walking around him to get a better look at the other, all six eyes fixed on every little detail.
"Unique IS awesome, and so is your name. Dante. Dahhhh-nteh." she started, getting a feel for the word, before nodding, and then stiffening up with her head in the air, attempting to look all regal. "I~~ee am Talullah Kaimi! But.. since that's a lot to say, most not-normals call me Tal. Or Kai. And I also like your head.. thingwings!" she added, before finishing, regarding the little feathery appendages on his head. The intregued her the most.

"You think I look cool?" he raised a brow, and was surprised by her words. "My spikes usually scare people, and so do my wings.." He shook his head, and was almost a bit embarassed at stating such. "But hey, if it scares people, I'd rather that so they shut up!" With a quick grin, he chuckled to himself and took a few steps back to give the filly space again.
He could only smile as she played with how his name sounded, but then he was nervous about letting the filly's name roll off his own tongue. It was a name much longer then his, and he certainly didn't want to mispronounce it. "I like your name too, and even the nicknames.." he still was appalled that she liked his little wings, and he shook them at let them wiggle playfully. "Yeah.. its just, the are a terrible trait to have so, I don't want to enjoy them too much."
He quieted himself, and brought his gaze to the ground. His mother had said that those 'wings' were terribly placed on his -not to be spoken of- father. It was all too confusing, but Dante tried to ignore the plaguing thoughts on his mind.
He rushed himself into a new question. "Now, why would people say mean things about you? That just doesn't make sense."

"O-course I do, silly. I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it!" Tal exclaimed, almost physically hopping, she really did think he looked cooler than he admitted; she was the kind of horse who thought the stranger, the better. She really didn't have a choice in the matter, being one of the strangest, but knowing there were others like her, it made her a little more content with life.
With a sway of her tail, she cantered her head, curiousity brimming around her as she looked him over. Watching him flicker the little wings on his head made her give a small giggle, they were one of her favourite things, already, she thought. "I don't see why you shouldn't enjoy them; I think if I had little wings, I'd be amused. But then again, I'm sureyou have your reasons.. but for now, I think I'll stick to liking them," enthusiastically came out, but when he asked her why she was such an outcast, she turned her head away, looking at the crowd that they were thankfully hidden away from.
"My father once said to me "Other horses fear what they ultimately don't know," and well, you don't normally meet a horse with three pairs of eyes." she answered, sudden sullen and sober, as if feeling somewhat bad for herself, being subjected to the whispering and looks. "Or a stretchy mouth, or a lure tail, somedays I wonder if some of them even have a sense of danger deep in their bones. Too many mares and stallions looking for someone to spend their lives with, not enough adventuring kinds."
Frowning once, she decided to change the subject, or try atleast. "So, do you know any others like us? Like.. siblings or sometihng? I have a brother, and a sister, just as weird. How about you?"

"Maybe they are just jealous." he then said, understanding the sadness in her voice. "They have nothing better to do with their time, so they just make fun of us. Its like a sick cycle, to just talk down about everything all the time." with a snort, he turned his eyes back on Tal. "But anyways, when we are older, we can tell them to shut up easier!" He would certainly do that, since he was fed up with the words of others.
Dante was happy to have the subjected change, and he thought for a moment before agreeing. "Yeah, my brother has more spikes on his body, and has a really scary face. And my sister is really dark, and she has crazy wings and a tail.." he giggled thinking about it, wondering if he was the most normal. "Because if it, I try to stay strong for my family. I don't see anything wrong with the way we look, so it gets frustrating to hear others judge us." Tal probably wouldn't understand that Dante and his siblings, and even his mother weren't supposed to be alive.
To the father's knowledge, the four of them were long dead, and the idea of the three children wasn't even an option.
"So what are your parents like?" Did Tal have both a mother and a father? Dante was certainly interested to learn!

"Jealousy, fear, sometimes they're the same thing, in any case, we can tell them off when we're bigger and stronger." Tal piped in quickly, before she turned the subject once more, figuring the had beaten it to death once already. Hearing about his family sounded more interesting, anyways.
A constant nod of her head showed that she was completely interested in the information he gave her about his family. Wings? Spikes? How beautifully bizarre. It made her curious about how they truely acted together, and a broad smile crept across her face. "They sound fascinating, I would be proud to have them as siblings. Specially the the scary brother, he'd probably be a great ally to have, defence wise." She answered, before thinking of the possibilities.
"My siblings are just as strange. My sister shares the same kind of tail, and horns as I do, she's more like me, really. But my brother, he's very bright, with.. only one set of eyes." she said, almost singsong like near the end. The question about her parents put her off for a moment.
"My parental units? .. Peculiar is a good word for them. My mother is big, and strong, but she's very stubborn about somethings - very protective. We take after her a fair bit, except she has no mouth.. just like my brother. But my Dad, he's pretty cool. " she paused, smiling about her father-thing, which she currently stayed with. "He's .. a unicorn, but not like you'd expect. His eyes and mouth glow, and he's cursed, he says. But he's smart and kind and tells stories and stuff like that. But he wanders.. I guess I kind of take that from him.. since I'm by myself a lot. I still love him." she finished, before nodding.
"Not exactly a perfect family.. but it does well."

"Yeah, my brother is something." It was hard for Dante to understand what his brother might have been going through, since he apparently had a complicated internal conflict. "We try to look out for each other, since so many are against us." He lightened up when Tal was talking about her own family, since they seemed to have their own distinct differences.
"But still, your family sounds nice. Being perfect is overrated anyhow..and, .is having a mom and a dad nice?" He felt sort of odd for asking the question, but since his own father was an undiscussed matter, he was strangely interested in what she said about her own father. "I have never seen a Unicorn, I heard they are pretty cool."
"Having a lot of eyes is useful, isn't it? I think that's pretty awesome!" He chuckled to her, and stared into her eyes again. "At least you always know what's going on!."
"Family is what you make it anyways, right?" With a confident nod, he shuffled his feet playfully.

It was as if the other's interest had fuelled the information she was almost gushing out with, she liked to see the reactions and hear the questions that only were added to when he got answers he didn't expect. It amused her greatly. But she didn't enjoy standing in one place for so long.
Taking to slowly trotting around the other, she hummed and hawed to herself about how to answer the most recent slew of questions. "It's an interesting family, atleast for me. I don't see my mom as often as the norm. I know as far that I'm not a product of those gross, true wuv~ relationships. I guess it really depends on how you grow up.. on how you see 'family'. " she stated, squishing her face up at the love part, before shaking it off.
"But it's kind of nice knowing she's not too far; Even if she's a bit weird. Buuu~T as far as I know... unicorn-things are pretty, supernatural beings. Think.. Um. Me, with my horn here... " She started to explain, lifting her head and doing a spin place, as if looking at her fledgling horn. "But with a somewhat fluffier tail, and a slightly heavenly feel to them. My dad is missing his heavenly feel, though. Curse and all." she murmured, looking away before starting her trot again, flickering her tail back and forth.

He watched the filly skidder around, and he moved his eyes back and forth as she jumped around him. It was easy to keep his eyes on her, since she was so interesting to look at!
"Heh, true love..." he lowered his head so that his eyes weren't showing, and felt so awkward at the thought. True love wasn't even SAID near his family, and he was almost embarrassed in a sense. He didn't know how to feel, so instead he just slumped and hide his expression. "How we see family can be different then how we want it too. I will stay close with the ones I care about, but I hope that I forget a lot of the nonsense when I grow older."
In his mind it would become better when he was older, but he really had no idea at this point on how to make the situation better. He would need to train himself, in care his father wanted to kill him in the future.
"I think I get what you are talking about. There are quite a few things I still haven't seen in this land, but I have plenty of time for that." With a light smile, he brought his head up and continued to watch her play.

Turning her head to regard him as she did another turn around him, she gave it a quick shake before answering him, her playful attitude not being allowed to be dampered by her new friend's sudden meekness about the topic at hand.
"Bah, true love is a load of crock anyways, it's only for dreamers and fanatics, as my dad once told me. I think I agree, you have to work to find someone to share life with. I think I'd rather find friends I can walk through life with." It was light and welcoming, instead of a dreary bitterness some of the adults would make it sound, she was a free-spirit, and had decided as a smaller filly following her father that nothing would bind her down on this world, just like him. But she wouldn't admit it out loud just now - he seemed so bitter to his own father, and she wasn't ready to press along that road quite yet.
As her luretail cast glows off her glass and metal, and his soft silver pelt, her mood only lightened up more, even if the glows of the late day were starting to dimmer once more, showing the finale of another wonderful day. "I think, when I grow up, I want to see all that there is to see, and do all that I can do, live forever and not worry about my future until it comes. I'll be a freespirit forever." she stated. No reason to look into the future right now, it was too dark and bleary, if the normal soquili population had any say in it. Turning her head, she regarded Dante, her youthful smile still entact. "How about you?"

Dante enjoyed the filly's positive attitude, and he remained quiet while happily watching her. He wished and hoped that he could be like that some day, he really hated how sulky he could be at times. "Tal, you are a cool gal." he then muttered, with a hint of blush on his face. "If anything, I think if anyone could accomplish those kind of goals, it would be you." With a confident nod, he strode past her in thought of what he wanted to achieve with his life.
"I.. I really don't know. I guess time will tell for me." Time would also determine if he would make it until adulthood. That was his biggest clock to watch, and it was no surprise that he was so jumpy all of the time.
"What kind of things would you do as a freespirit?" He then added, wondering what the heck you COULD do.
