It was with a tinkling noise that he first appeared, a shadow on the whorls of the sky, the swirling miasm of his body matching that of the sky perfectly as if to be a peice of it. The glint of the pearls in his ebony mane stood out on the sky just as starkly as the mane itself and slowly the stallion came into view, standing on the edge of the cliff as cool and stony as a statue, wings tilted downward in a position that would have been equal to him having been bowing, yet his front legs stood as straight and true. He bowed to none, not even those that held ages much more unbelievable than his own.
Lifting his head slowly and peering at the rising sun, Suizei breathed deeply and let the mountain air settle in his lungs for a few moments; a smile drifted wistfully over his features as he stood the same way, watching the sun drift lazily up into the sky. It was mornings such as these that made the Angeni happy that he was still able to see them, still able to feel what they meant.
Though once he hadn't appreciated them. Now they were a precious commadity, as if he'd realized his mistake too late. However, it was to his credit that the stallion had come to his senses rather quickly and was now happy to bask in sunrises and sunsets, becoming a legend for humans and Soquili alike when he stood on the same mountain peake morning and night, merely dissapearing like a cloud of mist that most thought he was during the midday and night. Truly a wraith.

She moved with purpose, her strides smooth like silk as she made her way across the mountain peak. She hadn't bothered to put her wings to use, as she had felt that if she walked and climbed her way up the mountain it was a form of training that would allow her the elegance and fluidity that her father exuded. However, much as Blackfire would dearly love to become what her father symbolized, she also realized the dangers of becoming far too much like him. For her, the key to her Kalona blood was her temper, just like her father; she fought the blood back with more ease than her father did... but then, he truly was a pure Kalona. Demonic to the point of blackened beauty... of which she had been named.
Named after her father, whose fur color she shared despite how she tirelessly told others she held pride in it but in fact resented her lineage. To be outcast in a world filled with hate for those who were impure; half-bred, tainted blood. Kalona blood, already tainted, was stained were their blood to connect with others, the lessers... like herself. She was below even those of the most common Soquili kind... she frowned, not liking where her thoughts led her. With a clamp down hard enough to give her a migraine, she shoved the negative form of thought to the far reaches for her mind, for fear her more demonic self found a way to release from its tightly guarded prison. Her blue eyes, frosty with concentration, nearly missed the stallion that stood out and apart from the bright, white snow, much as she did herself.
Pausing in her gait, she observed the stallion from a few feet away, wondering how he could be such a clash of odd colors... and those beads weaved in his hair... he literally sparkled within the rays of the sun, and she felt blinded and more impure than ever as she stared at him. The name came to her without Blackfire even needing to know the stories. Angeni. Rumors of them were of abundance these days, and she had always thought them to be mere myths, the hopes and symbols of those poor idiots who didn't understand that their crossing with the demons only proved them to be blind to reality... but here stood one of them, a symbol of beauty, purity, hope, and protection... but she neither felt protected nor relieved. She felt disgusted. With herself. Blackfire turned her gaze, hoping if she didn't move he wouldn't notice her, and yet, hoping he would...

A sound that could only be described as wet silk being pulled over a wet stone eased through the air when Suizei turned his head gracefully and peered down at the plains beneath the mountain range. Taking in the rolling grass and the forrests that cropped up here and there. Once he would have taken a great peace to see this world, the world that he'd once fought for and against. Yet now, knowing what he knew and having seen more than he should have in a short humanity so abruptly ended, the angeni merely peered at it in a way an artist would a painting that they were once fond of, but knew was out of date.
The large angeni knew above all that he wasn't welcomed in this place, in fact he knew that he was merely thought of as myth and legend, expected not to be living and yet his very presence disrupted the lives and thoughts of those around him. These thoughts swirled through his mind, leaving etches in the already brazen tattoo that were his memories, unforgettable and forever carved for his lasting repentance for what had been done and what should never have been.
A way to see that he was wrong and to never let such happen again. This was what he supposed, and yet he did find himself not caring. The Angeni didn't wish to forget, yet at the same time he purely wished that the memories, the pain of knowing his past, would just leave even for a brief second and let him think of things of a far more enjoyable.
It was these thoughts on his own memories and thoughts that made him nearly miss the sound of the mare walking behind him. Tilting his head to one side so that a violet eye could take in the female behind him, Suizei blinked slowly and let his red eyeshadow show for a breif second over his lid before dissapearing again as he watched her movements. She was trying to hide?

She stiffened ever so slightly when she saw that he had, indeed, noticed her. Hiding was a foreign thing to Blackfire, who had hidden most of her life until merely recently, when she had escaped the clutching grasps of her family. Her sister enjoyed their odd power, with whom their parents were... of course, the only power, so to speak, that they gained, was something both accelerating and cumbersome. Staring at this Angeni in front of her, she knew she should attack, make a scathing remark... anything, because the Angeni were the mortal enemies of the Kalona. However, she stood her ground. The Angeni, personally, were also her "saviors"... they were the gods of the Wind breed, and most certainly the only ones, besides the unicorns, who had the gifts to purify even those of tainted blood...
...but it depended on whether the Angeni himself--or herself--had the ability to give such a gift. Were Blackfire to choose her purification... she would choose her death among all else. She did not want the life she led, did not want the knowledge she gained, and certainly did not want to be alone. Her base desire was to live peacefully with someone who would care for her endlessly and deeply... love her enough to risk their life against her father, love her enough so she could cry for them... so she could protect them, too. A secret wish, a secret desire, held deeply within her ice encased fire, which burned ever so weakly. She held herself as proudly as she could as she returned the stallion's look, not back down nor moving closer. She was no coward such as that.
Finally, after a long silent moment, she allowed her alluring voice to bring sound to the tense, if peaceful, aura. "...Greetings, Angeni," she spoke with a tone that brooked no argument, but it was also a tone of politeness... tactfully used, useful in most ways. "Odd to see your kind still alive these modern days, but perhaps that means you Angeni sense something foreboding soon to happen?" she continued, and then allowed her voice to end with a gentleness she usually did not have, for she had been taught to be cautious, firm... controlled. And finally, she did move closer, a step, two steps, three. "Blackfire," she finished, and inclined her head in a greeting.

Violet eyes peered at the mare who's hooves brought her ever closer towards him, narrowing slightly when his blood reacted naturally to that of hers, the taint that slid through her veins so smoothly.. and yet what normal Angeni might call taint....
The ears pricked forward slightly as she began talking, listening closely to her words and trying not to take offense to her lack of knowledge concerning his kind. She flung the word Angeni out as if it were a title he deserved, like he was above her. The mere fact of where he'd come from, how he'd died, and who he was was enough to make him balk under this missunderstood and unintentional criticism. The mare might not even realize that she was doing it, but in the back of his mind there was a fire that burned angrilly at the thought of her looking at him as if he were something different than her.
Blood made no difference.
Lifting his head at last and turning so that he stood with his side facing her and wings bent in their eternal bow position, Suizei inclined his head towards her gently. "Suizei, it's a pleasure to meet you Miss Blackfire. I'll assure you that my kind is no longer a fleeting illusion in the sunlight however, as more and more have decided to breach the safetey of the world above and travel down to venture with those of us who have been. Foreboding rarely brings an angeni from the other realm... boredome is a good inscentive however and is often used as an excuse."
One of the longest sentences ever recieved by any creature in his presence, Suizei closed his muzzle at last and felt a prickling in his rarely used vocal cords. Silence was a virtue that the Angeni believed should be appreciated as he often found there to be an evident lack of it in the world. So speaking wasn't his forte, nor something that he even admitted to enjoying.

Hooves the color of deep red blood plodded towards the Angeni with purpose and curiosity, as Blackfire soon came to a stop about two to three feet away from him. His violet eyes were intriguing in the way they were so similar to her own; hers a bright, bright sky blue, his the color of the premature evening sky in all its wonders. From the way he was scrutinizing her, Blackfire had to stifle the urge to snarl at him. It was odd, how she wanted to attack him and yet at the same time bow her head all the way to the ground.
Her conflicting feelings sent her into a spiral of confusion, something she never liked to feel. Confusion meant she didn't know anything, and Blackfire didn't like not knowing anything, because it made her feel stupid, and she didn't like feeling stupid. She wasn't sure what had drawn her to this stallion, this Angeni, this Suizei, as he called himself. She had merely a feeling that told her this stallion might be the one to... she wasn't sure what yet... but she had a feeling. It was a different feeling from Meshach, but she was sure... well, actually, she wasn't sure. She had always been insecure, hiding behind a facade of an all-knowing mare, a tough mare who had it all together.
Which, of course, she didn't.
She managed to hide her flinch when he bowed to her. Unless he was doing that out of politeness, which she managed to accept with good grace. "Likewise, Sir Suizei," she agreed pointedly, but kindly. "Have they now?" she inquired curiously. A soft smile broke out on her face. "Well, then perhaps I am lucky to be meeting an unusual one as you, Sir Suizei," she indicated, inclining her head in the traditional bow she had learned from her father, Windflame. "Boredom can be used in different ways, but I suppose the best way to use it without make it an excuse is to say you're exploring," she offered with a light laugh, surprised at herself for allowing a laugh to escape her throat at all.

For the briefest of moments his body seemed to snap to instant life, the swirls on his fur lashing about angrily as his eyes turned the same red color of the eyeshadow above them. Then it was gone, as if it had been nothing but a simple illusion brought on by the sky behind him as it brightened slowly, oblivious to their meeting.
Truthfully, Suizei deplored being referred to as 'sir' in any form. It was his own personal opinion that a murderer should never be given a title, that someone that killed countless should never be acknowledged as anything less than dirt below the hooves of all those around them and he'd murdered hundreds, almost thousands.
He was an angel and yet not at all.
Watching her with soft looking eyes, Suizei pondered his next statement before it even left his muzzle, not wanting to insult her. "Exploring is something that most Angeni do not understand, for reasons unknown to myself of course. Exploration can beget many things, staving away boredom, finding new places, finding new company; however, most Angeni on this earth have seen enough and know enough to allow them the un-graces of letting the word 'boredom' conduct their choices." Thinking for a few more seconds he added, "Meeting others can be an excuse to abandon the word 'boredom' as well."
This mare seemed to be one that would attack before she would question when he'd first seen her... now Suizei was thinking otherwise. Now she seemed to be the opposite, which was quite to his approval in fact. He would rather have someone that he would be able to talk with than someone that would lunge at him and thereby destroy the coming peace of his day.

Seeing the insta-flash of brief anger before vanishing behind a cool facade, Blackfire smirked to herself. Ah, so Angenis did have emotions, they just chose to hide them, like her father did. He was certainly an interesting specimen of a stallion. Gold, purple, red? Black... and a string of small, oddly sparkling beads... Knowledge of such jewelry came bidden into her mind as she realized those pale, sparkling beads were actually pearls entwined within his mane.
Surprised flickered for a moment, before she saw his soft gaze. She almost gaped at him. Why was he looking at her like that!? She narrowed her eyes, not liking how he seemed to be treating her as if she was but a foal. "Well, I suppose you're right," she agreed reluctantly. Was life as an Angeni that boring? Perhaps she was glad to be a half-breed after all...
She decided she'd preferred to see emotion in this enigma. Besides, it would be something to do and it'd be entertaining. Mentally, she was doing an evil victory dance as she turned from angry and annoyed to sweet and uberly cute. "So," she said in the most sugary voice she could summon, "is it okay if I call you Sir Suizei, Sir Suizei?" She wanted to see what made this guy flip, for some unknown reason.
Hm, she must have picked up the annoying personality from Meshach. Her gaze darkened slightly at the thought of that unicorn, but she quickly banished, quickly smiling as brightly as possible at Suizei. She was being random today, but then, she didn't feel up to listening to some Angeni's speech-lecturing thing today anyway.

Wings ruffled and puffed out as if he were disturbed and angry, the form of an upset owl attempting to voice it's displeasure through body language. It may or may not have worked, however it was this that kept him from lashing out verbally at the mare, Blackfire, like he would have had he been in his right mind.
Both ears laid back flat on his head and his teeth ground together, the Angeni trying to hide it. She could have told it by his last reaction, now this mare was simply pressing buttons in the hopes of finding one to set him off and get a rise. A rise he wasn't exactly willing to give a mare like this.
"I'd rather that you not." It was gruff and to the point, very much the style of a stallion beriddled with thoughts that caused an inner turmoil of desicion. "One such as myself is unworthy of such an honor as that. To have an honorific such as that.... it is an 'honor' given to those deserving of it, to those who have earned it in life."
Why was he explaining things to this mare? What did she care what he thought or what she was calling him?
Suizei didn't know the answers to that, however he did know that she was grating on his nerves which he found were suddenly thin. The Angeni was known for having the patience of the saint he was not; however his patience ran thin when those of such young age in comparison threatened to drive him from his sane mind.
What to do with such a mare? Should he fly off and leave her talking to the air where his body had just been? Or should he simply be forced to take her annoying additude laying down, so to speak?
Slowly, very slowly, Suizei filled his lungs with the mountain air and let it calm his aura and spirit once more. Gently his aura morphed back to what it should have been before, sh immering with the gentle sunlight and glowing before the eyes of those much unlike him.

Seeing that he wasn't to be ruffled from a calm exterior, she immediately reverted to her emotionless gaze; a gaze she had learned well from her demonic father. Calmly, she stared the Angeni down, knowing he was already irritated with her nature. "Excuse me, sir, but one such as you deserves a title, whereas I do not." She nearly retorted her answer in a small anger fit, but managed to keep her even her tone dead-sounding. It made her wince, mentally, to hear herself sound like she merely a rock... a toy... a pawn.
"..." He sounded more selfish and pitiful than one who deserved to be listened to; like he knew what it was like to suffer? To think that he didn't deserve any "title"... what the hell was that? It was mere politeness; though for her, it had been a way to see if Suizei would give in to her taunts. No such thing; that meant this stallion was also a hopeless case; obviously, Fate wished for her to suffer in life. This stallion... were all Angeni as arrogant as Kalona? He sounded like it, even if he said he didn't deserve this, or that, or whatever the hell he thought he didn't deserve!
Finally, she broke her emotionless facade as she scoffed and sneered at him. "Bah, don't act like you don't "deserve" anything at all, you conceited Angeni. If you think I'm trying your patience, think again, because you're trying mine. I don't have time to listen to your self-hate story!" She huffed slightly, the cold mountain air making her shiver. Of all times to encounter an Angeni, just when she had thought herself completely isolated! Maybe if she drove him away he would leave her alone; if he had given rise to her taunts, she had thought perhaps he would be a beam of light.
A beam of hope of which she was so desperately looking for; an escape from her ever torturous Kalona father. She was barely keeping herself from feeling despair; for Blackfire, even though she scoffed at herself for being a hybrid, she knew there had to be some kind of way for her to truly live. She had yet to experience love... what was that, anyway? Her mother, Ringlet, had always said "I love you" to her as a filly, but she had never quite understood it. It was an unknown emotion...
s**t! Being near this stallion was making her think things! She had been climbing this mountain for a reason; what was it? "You say you're not worthy of that honorific; well, I say you're worthy to be called pitiful," she snorted. Cruel words fell from lips as easily as water as she began to move past him; why she had even bothered to have conversation at all was beyond her; she was getting desperate, as well. Where was the one who would save her, before she finally gave in?
Don't think it's hopeless yet... she thought to herself.

One of his ears fell to the side at her brazen insulting words. Normally Suizei would have bristled and snapped that she was just a little girl that didn't know anything. However given the blood he could feel stretching towards his own insidiously, the tainted Angeni believed that she knew exactly what it was she meant and didn't like the idea that he thought himself lower than her.
Was that what her problem was? Was it that she thought herself lesser for being born with blood that wasn't quite as pure as her Kalona parent had been? Or that the other parent either?
It was a concept that Suizei didn't grasp, two halves often could make one whole comfortably. Even if one was a mix it was often considered to be a good thing for them, it gave them perspective from two different places. While it could be argued that being half Kalona rotted the mind it still gave those who were the opportunity to live through something that many others would never.
"No one would call a murderous dog 'Sir' unless they were doing it sarcastically or because they were afraid they would slit their throat if they didn't. Once upon a time, under circumstances much the same as this, I would have allowed myself the luxury of doing such to your own immortal body Miss. However things have changed. Despite my stature and bearing I don't find myself equal to even those around me at any given point. I've lived a life I live to regret because I knew no better as a child, fell straight into the world I didn't understand. You'd find a lot changes in one's mind when death overwhelms it, however it gives you the opportunity, wanted or not, to look back on life and asses the mistakes you've made." Suizei said lowly, his voice deadly soft despite the usually gentle ring to it. "I didn't choose the life I live now. I try my hardest to repent for the things I've done, but to have one such as yourself throw those selfsame things into my eyes once more as if to tell me you think yourself a possesser of all knowledge to my life is scathing."
The suddenly irritated Angeni turned his back to the mare before him. The swirls on his coat were slowly turning a bloody color of red and black, churning as if alive with anger and the blood of everything and everyone he'd ever spilled onto the ground. It was disgusting but it was his life. The life he'd chosen for himself haphazardly because he hadn't know the true risks or consequences to choosing anything thus.
Let her walk away. Her words were enough to remind him just how much he needed to repent, just how far his hooves had to travel for him to accomplish it before his heart ate itself from the pain of knowledge alone. He didn't think it was truly fair... but who was he to complain when it was his own doing? Surely there were those out there that understood the pain of a past that couldn't be washed away by the strongest river or the fiercest rain, but Suizei had yet to meet them and if he ever did he hoped that they would accept his words and hoped that he cuold hear words of encouragement from them as well.
Gods above only knew that he needed it, gruff, elegant or otherwise.
