previouslySuzaku's priestess lay sleeping in her soft bed draped with its gossamer curtains. She was curled around three eggs, pink tails with the imprint of the god she was connected to lightly covered them like a blanket. Her head rested on one of a few teddy bears in the room, somehow not getting tangled in the white ribbons that were woven into the buns of her brown hair. The door opened and a trio of giggling winged kits tumbled into the room, almost over-intently shushing each other. A cream kit straightened her red hat upon her head and nodded to the fully white kit with eyes of literal coal. She in turn nodded to the brown kit with antlers and spotted wings. "C'mon" The reindeer whispered to her 'sisters' "There's new 'cousins' to play with!"The trio giggled flying stealthily over the slumbering little family. Nevermind that they saw enough eggs that they should know eggs had to hatch before they could really play. They were without their 'ringleader' today and forgot things like that. And that eggs where hard to lift by a single kitsu kit with her paws. Three pairs of eyes looked at each other as they hovered, each girl having been unable to pick up her egg. Now what? those eyes seemed to ask. One. They all agreed, moving together to lift the egg in the middle. Giggling quietly the culprits flew as one from the room then out the main door of the home. ~~~~~ Some time later, Miaka stirred. She stretched almost languidly around her eggs. Her mate was still out... that was disappointing but not surprising. He was sure to be back soon. Smiling the new mother turned to nuzzle their eggs. One. Two.... where was the third? A wail rose from her shaking the house even though she was in one of the magic door's nearly soundproof rooms. "Our egg!! Tamahome!!! Our egg is missing!"

the lowdownThis is an RP contest/event to win one of Miaka & Tamahome's precious eggus!!! This contest will be judged by Alex Mustang & myself, based on things ..... we're probably not going to tell you! 4laugh Seriously though. We're looking for someone who is willing and able to RP with at least one of us, at least sporadically. These kits will be loved & cherished by their parents.... so please keep that in mind. It is not a prerequisite to know the parent's cosplay source. However, it would be helpful in future RPs to have an idea so keep that in mind. We'd like the egg to have a Japanese or Chinese name. It would simply make sense with the parentage. ^_^ Being named after the parents' family or friends works too. You don't have to have a kitsu to rp or try to win the egg. Please do not create a fake kitsu to do so. Play as an Original Character or a pet from another shop if you have to. The exception is in Q&A. What Trel or Alex say goes here. All other Realm rules apply. Be cool. Don't hassle the other participants. Please put anything not RolePlay (ooc=out of character) in either double parenthesis (( )) or brackets [ ]. Post any questions here. In ooc. (points up) Piccus or linkus to piccus of those characters 'helping' much appreciated! 4laugh There is no post order. Trel at least will post once per day. Maybe more, but always at least once per day. also, responses to RP posts will be as RP dictates. Yes, I am reading all the posts and taking them into account when I post. However some things will not be commented on, usually for flow. There is normally a reason, which is never that someone is being pointedly ignored. If at anytime there is a miscommunication RP wise (probably because I left something out, then amended) and you wish to adjust your post to take it into consideration this is more than acceptable and by no means necessary. Anyone is welcome to participate in the event whether or not you'd like to try for the egg!! Please! the more the merrier! If you are going to try for the egg please put [Egg Hopeful] at the top of your post in bold blue font. [more to be added]

extra stuff
[none yet]
Q & A Q: Can a real kitsu bring a 'made up' kitsu along? A: I'm going to say okay to this, but only if you really need it to keep RP smoothness for your own purposes (already ongoing character development & the like). I'd like to keep it to a minimum though. Thanks.
Q: Can we use more than one kitsu to help search? A: *grins* Yes! As many as you can handle!
Q: All my kitsu would be helping, but I can't handle them all at once! (not insane like Trelweny) Help? A: suggestions really on this one: Have them all show, then separate out the ones you don't want to RP into other groups that will be 'fading' out of the main plot-rp (many if not most of mine will be doing that); those you want to RP with show, informing the main group of the actions of the others; simply stating that they're off looking is fine too. Really, this is more important with timeline/plot consistency beyond & surrounding the event so it won't relate to most people. ^_^

jumping in
You've read the notice from the worried parents or have otherwise heard and are heeding their plea for help. You have ideas or skills that might be useful, or maybe simply just one more set of senses to try and track down the egg. Jump in. There's an egg to find.
The base of operations for this search & rescue mission is not Trel's house. ^_^ We don't need those who are holding down the home fort underfoot.
It is similar in protection and magic however. A simple cottage, not far from one of the lakes in the Realm proper. Not far being within throwing distance, but out of the floodzone. It is simple, with wood floors and beamed ceilings. There is a bathroom and kitchen off of the main room, with only the basics.
In the main room is a large table strewn with maps of Gaia and the Realm. Pegs are stuck in the maps, presumably noting where others of the extended non-kitsu family & friends are searching. There is also a communications console, blinking in one corner of the room. Miaka and her eggs are on a mattress atop a raised palate where she can both see everyone and bee seen by them, her back to the wall. It is easily the softest and most homey thing there.

Dear Fellow Kitsu of the Realm or Mountain: My mate and I have lost our precious child. It was stolen in the night time and we are greatly worried. If you could help us find our lost treasure please come to the lake cottage in the realm to get more detail. Please help us find our treasure. ~Tamahome and Miaka

the gatheringNeedless to say, every kitsu that lived in the House in Bass'ken Lake milled around in attendance to offer their help. All but three permakits, which the others were actually kind of glad to be missing. Those three tended to be more mischief than help on most cases. Trel-kit for all her energy was at least able to focus when it came to matters of importance. Like this. The others of their large, odd family that were not kitsu were off doing what they could to search those areas beyond the Realms of Kitsu. The estranged mother lay on a soft mattress curled around her two remaining eggs, Hemi Lupin curled beside her and purring reassurances. His sister, Liliana, moved between them and the 'planners' - Remus, Ginny, Rune, Zell- who were talking with Tamahome & his housemates Squall and Cloud about their best courses of action. AearHwesta waited patiently, knowing he would be checking the seas but hoping there would be someone with deep diving skills or able to speak with creatures of the sea to go with him. The others milled around, mentioning where they had been the last day or so, talking about places they would check, or other wise discussing the enormity of the situation. Their home was near impregnable... how had anyone come in through their defenses and stolen an egg from its mother from a room within the magic door! Needless to say... the family was shaken.

[Egg Hopeful] Where there was a possibility for adventure, there was Tuuli...whenever she caught wind of such news, in any case. Though hardly big enough to be able to be useful in the matters of things such as missing children, the 'flower princess', attention-demanding as she was at times, wanted a piece of the action, and, thus, having managed to recruit Shreya, of all Kitsu, into her scheme (this was a bit of a surprise, really; Shreya was not only far too big to be forcibly dragged anywhere by the perma-kit, but had threatened bodily harm against the blue female more than once).
On the other hand, the Luck had enough sense of mind to know that these presumably distraught parents honestly didn't need someone who thought she was royalty of all things floral looking for their offspring. If all else, Tuuli was easily distracted, so if the red and gold female could juuuust find something else to catch the smaller kitsu's attention, Miaka and Tamahome could possibly be spared Hurricane Tuuli.
"Do you think there's a reward?" the kit excitedly asked as they made their way to the cottage, "Who do you think took their kid? Maybe it's an evil witch, like the fairytales! The good king and queen have their beautiful princess snatched from the cradle, and send the brave prince on a quest to rescue her!"
Shreya could only sigh as she hoped that a diversion would be created by trekking through a field of flowers; if nobody in the family could tolerate Tuuli (Sunday alone was terrified of the smaller kitsu, what was to say the Suzako no Miko was going to be able to handle such a creature looking for her child?
This was going to be a long journey, she deduced.

[egg hopeful]
He hadn't had a useful job since he was a human. It seemed only right to go out and help at a time like this.
Phoenix Wright was a fairly friendly guy. As a human, he had spent his days as a Defense Lawyer, defending clients to the best of his ability, sometimes acquitting them of murder charges and saving them from jail, even the death penalty. Becoming a Kitsusagi had meant absolutely no personality change whatsoever - he still wanted to help out whenever he could and to help make a positive difference wherever possible. It was just in his nature to want to do so. While this job wasn't going to be lawyering business this time, it was still something helpful he could do at least.
It was certainly better than idling away in the Kitsu territories, which was what he had done until now. Phoenix had mostly been spending his time discovering the world around him as a Kitsusagi, learning about what he could do here and there.
When he had heard about the plea for help, the defense attorney Kitsusagi had left in search of the said parents.
"Be smooth, Phoenix." He told himself, stopping for a moment to make sure his freshly-ironed dark blue suit was nice and unwrinkled, his hair slicked back with gel and neat. "You're here to help. Just try not to scare them off, or make them think you're an incompetent loser..." He sighed to himself. "And that will certainly happen if you start showing off, or trying to climb trees or fly. So none of that... though, it's not like I want to fly around showing off anyway."
He wandered ahead, attentive of the road ahead of him. He glanced up at the sky, seeming a little nervous. "Geez, I hope it doesn't rain... that would totally ruin my hair. I also... really hate thunderstorms."
Where was the place again? The spiky-haired Kitsusagi stopped for a moment to look around, trying to gather his bearings. According to the instructions he had read, it was a little cottage in the Realm territory near a lake. He had found the lake, but... he couldn't find the cottage anywhere just yet.
"See, Phoenix. This is why you became a lawyer, and not a cartographer." He chuckled aloud to himself. "I don't know where the hell I'm going half the time anyway, even when I'm not lost!"
He continued down one of the well-worn paths, soon finding the lake, and the cottage not too far away. He brushed a paw through his gelled spikes another time to make sure they were neat, and then he approached the cottage, knocking on the front door with a paw.
This was certainly going to be an interesting experience.

[egg hopeful] The bright perma-kit, stared at the note that was placed on the ground in front of him, his upper body laying casually on the shore of the lake as his lower body drapped back into the lake behind him. His tails swipped from side to side in the water as he pondered about the note. Who would do such a thing as steal another person's egg? What a horrible act! He had seen it happen before to his fish friends, except with the fish their eggs were usually eaten, not stolen. He hoped for the family's sake, it was the latter.
The perma-kit's silver eyes glanced up toward the house near the lake with a small frown in them, his small, unused wings pulling tighter against his body. He was curious, very curious and this curiousity would surely make him actually leave his watery home for a long period of time. Curiousity, aswell as the need to help this family find their egg.
With a deep intake of breath the perma-kit heffed himself up from the lake, taking a few steps from the water before shaking himself dry ( or as dry as one could get when they lived in water). He paused, frowning to himself and pulling his wings tigher against his body before forcing himself to continue up toward the house. He did, however, eye the bright blue dressed kitsu who was at the door already.
He would be back, he told the water, but something else needed to be done first.

[Egg hopeful] On his way to HQ, his curiosity got the best of him. Many different kitsu gathered a little ways away from the HQ building and as one single unit moved towards some unknown destination. He had never seen such a large gathering before, and none of the kitsus appeared to be acquaintance of any kind. They were all different ages, different sizes and colors. Some even as young as kits were gathering. He deducted to two conclusions: either something joyous happened, or something terrible happened. Of course, any kitsu with at least a heart would hope it was not the latter of the two.
He decided to pursue the matter even if he was not invited. The faces of the kitsus gathering did not appear joyous in any way. Some faces were filled with concern, others with worry, some even with anger. Something bad must have happened. There was no other explanation for such grave looking faces. He had never seen so much gloom gathered in one place at a time. In fact, usually he noticed his kind were rather cheerful.
As the others shuffled their way forward, Sigurd stood upon his tippy-toes in order to catch a glimpse of the small flyers. At this time was the only time he cursed his size. If only he were a bit larger then he could read the flyer properly. His little eyes squinted at the words. "Hmm..." he thought to himself out loud, "I do not understand some of these words...I have yet to learn some of them...But the message does not seem cheerful in any way. The situation seems grim. Perhaps these kitsus are gathering in hopes of helping somehow..."
His little eyes shifted everywhere to inspect the strangers once more. They were all gathering, but for what reason? That he still did not understand.
"Excuse me," he called out politely, "May I ask as to why all of you are gathering?"
The stripped male turned to face the little one, his expression grim, "It appears that someone's egg was stolen. The parents are asking for our help," he frowned, "Such an omen is rare...especially because of the household it was stolen from."
Sigurd raised a brow, "Why?" he questioned. He could only imagine the faces of those poor parents and their families...To have their child stolen from them...Such monstrosity should not ever occur within these realms. It was ridiculous. Why would anyone try to tear a child away from his or her parents? He understood now the faces of the kitsu. Anger was boiling within him, too.
"Because..." the grown male interrupted, "The household is the household of Remus Lupin....He is a famous magic user. Not to mention their household itself is rather large. Many sets of eyes were probably watching over or guarding these eyes. But to have it stolen like this...it must be hurtful, probably even shameful to them all," he frowned once more.
He lifted a paw and pointed in the direction he was headed, "We're all gathering over there--near their house. They should be addressing us soon as to what to do," he suddenly paused as he came to realize the kit's curiosity, "You aren't going to...try to help are you? Someone so young as yourself? You could get hurt, you know. This isn't a game." The grown male's face was serious now.
Sigurd smiled softly at the male. He was grateful for his concern, but this was something he had to do. It was his duty to help those in need. "I thank you greatly for your concern...but I will prevail. I will be alright. I also realize this is not a game, but I am serious about helping. It is the duty of a man to answer a lady's wishes," he nodded strongly, "Besides...my mother would never let me see the light of day if she learned I did nothing to help," he grinned.
"I'm sure they would be touched to hear this," the striped one said softly, "Do be careful, though. Only the Gods know what lay ahead..."
The two continued together towards the large house on the lake. Their eyes each shined with unfathomable determination as they knocked on the door.

[Egg hopeful] After a lifetime of constant motion and high energy, it was more than a little bit unsettling to find such quiet within himself.
Trotting lightly (more out of habit than anything...fast-running didn't seem to hold quite the same appeal that it once had), Yrre kept his eyes warily on the shadows that hid at the bases of the trees around him. Automatically, he stuck to the path with the most light..he'd had plenty of experience with what lurked in the shadow, thank you very much. Such an event was not a thing he was eager to repeat..but the disappearance of an egg was something that he felt that he ought to pay attention to. How sad the parents must be...! Shivering a bit, he quickened his pace. Almost there, almost there.. Lagging a bit behind her father, Era bumped shoulders with the kitsu beside her, earning a sharp teeth-snap for her efforts. Truly, Isidora was such a bad-tempered grump...but she had come along, presumably to help and search for the poor lost egg, and Era had to give her credit for that. She only wished that the older female would be a little bit more friendly..or even talk to her, for crying out loud! Thinking back, she didn't recall ever hearing her utter a single word..but Ember had, apparently, so she knew that Isidora wasn't mute.
With a wounded glare, she hmphed softly. This was going to be a long day... Fools.
Sharply aware blue eyes scanned about the small group, peering into the trees that surrounded them. She smelled water, and while she didn't see the telltale glimmer of the lake nearby, she knew that they were close. But then, the clamour of the gathering ahead was enough that even the dimwits that she traveled with must know this.
Clacking her teeth together once, crisply, she jutted her chin forward as the cottage came into view, and then sped up, wasting more energy on movement than she normally would. Anything to get this over with...

Lucia was flying as fast as her wings would allow, worry etched on her light colored face. She had just left Trelweny's home, having wanted to visit with Vana and try to apoligize to Maidh again for the misunderstanding when she got the panicked news. A missing egg?! She knew any parent would be going out of their minds with worry if their eggs turned up missing and she wanted to do what she could help find it and get it back to it's parents.
She was almost to the place where kitsu's were asked to meet, looking around for the familiar blue of Vana's wings.

[Egg Hopeful] Valis had heard about the missing egg and couldnt not help she had even managed to wrangle her new brother Davey into comming along, not that he was too happy about it but seeing as he had abilities she hasn't seen in other kitsu, it was easy to appeal to his pride, who could take an egg though... that was something she didn't understand... even the crulest of kitsus she had met had something about them she liked and she couldn't imagined someone being malic enough to do such a thing... she hoped there was something she could at least do, when they arived at the gathering of other kitsu she went up to them listening to their conversations to learn as much as she could Davey wasn't very pleased to be taken away from Tia when he had just found her again, but this kitsu was persistent and he knew Tia would want him to help find the welp too so he went along, he knew the seas well and many creatures in it, if the egg was there he would find it, no question... it just would take a while considering the size of the ocean. When they arived to the gathering he was surprized to see how many kitsu showed up, he chose to stay on the outskirts of the crowd, others tended to gawk and stare at him so he wanted to stay in hearing shot but out of direct sight

At the knock on the door a small but strong voice could be heard inside the lake cottage. "Mum!! They're here!" The red-headed witch gave a smile of thanks to her daughter Cedrella and a nod of understanding. The kit threw her long brown hair over her shoulders and scampered to the door only to be beaten two it by two identical angelic males who threw the door open. Their young faces were anxious, the twins both worried for the egg and thinking about the lovely striped sisters that had captured their hearts -and beyond to how they would feel should it be one of their eggs missing. Cedrella pouted behind them, looking up between their wings at the slick-haired kitsu in the doorway before trying to crane her neck to see beyond him. Maidhfinden & Vanafindon nodded the smartly dressed kitsu at the door in, "Thanks for coming" then stepped out through the door to stand on either side of it like watchers as if about to usher those gathering around inside. Seeing the throngs, they were very glad Tamahome had chosen this lake cottage near one of the Realm's lakes then their own home as the meeting place. Amaryllis would be beside herself trying to keep so many off her precious plants. Of course it had been given temporarily the security placed on their own home, but in light of recent events was that really enough? It was all they could think of to do on short notice however. Miaka had insisted on being near, being the hub of the search since she was unable to go caring for the other kits. From the huddle Zell Dincht looked up, giving a nod of his head at the first to enter. "S'up? Nice hair." The tattooed kitsu gave a grin and padded over. Blue eyes glanced beyond the winged male & out the door. "Damn... nice turnout, dontcha think?" Cedrella, seeing two kits very near the door bounded out with an air of authority and a warm smile of welcome. "Good! More kits too search with! You can be on my team." She looked over the fishy kit and the one in a sweater as if sizing them up then nodded to herself before glancing at the striped male. "You too. If you'll listen. Mum'd insist on an adult around anyway." The idea clearly was not a preferred one. Vana was looking out, not up and remained quiet as his twin faced the mass and called out. "Thanks for coming everyone! Please head inside! Don't worry, there's room for everyone!" For this, like their own home, had been spelled to hold what entered it. Only then did Vanafindon look up, more out of hope and longing than following any of his senses. That familiar beautiful pale coat.... Lucia? His whole countenance perked, spotted tails wagging as he watched his beloved approach.
