"Where are we going Kainda?" Adair demanded, for perhaps the third time as one of his clawed hands were wraped around Kainda's human ones. One of the fox girl's first idea was who to take Adair on his second playdate, as the first one was claimed on the walk home. Adair liked it though, and she was sure he'd like this one.

"I told you. We're going to a friend of mine. He had a boy about your age, named Holden and a dog named Hamlet." What little boy didn't love dogs? That had to win him over, and hopefully he and Holden would get along. She didn't know how her new little trouble maker would handle the almost mute thing. Well her boy was friendly at least.

"A dog?" Adair muled over this information carefully, tying to think about how he felt about dogs. Then he nodded with some forgotten knowlege that he did indeed love dogs. They were so kind and loyal. At least that's what his heart told him. "Cool." he decided and started to move a little faster, his tail swishing a little as his ears flicked a bit. "How do you know them Kainda?" Adair hadn't fallen into the habit of calling his guardian mother and Kainda didn't encourage otherwise, both seemed comfortable with a different realtionship.

"Oh a little while ago, I taught the boy about bugs." Kainda explained as she stoped in front of Tristian's apartment building. Thank you mailboxes for giving her that information. Her hand reached up as she knocked briskly. "Be nice Adair." Kainda ordered halfheartedly.

The first sound from inside was that of loud barking as the puppy got up from the place he had taken up next to Tristan on the couch. Hamlet jumped down and ran to the door and he continued to bark. Tristan let out a groan. He loved his dog but sometimes he wished he knew how to shut him up. He was getting to be less and less of a puppy and his bark was getting deeper.

Tristan got up himself, pausing the movie he had decided to watch and went to the door, pushing the dog out of the way with his foot before opening it up. He smiled when he saw Kaindra and he said, "Hello," and then his eyes were drawn downwards to the little boy next to her and he was a little surprised,"why hello there."

"Are you Holden?" Adair asked, tilting his head to the side, his wings fluttering a bit then folding tightly to his back. he was only given two names, and one was for a dog so he only had one name to give this guy. He was tall though. Adair looked up and tilted his head to the side, then gave him his charming smile.

Already Kainda could see a power in that smile and she blinked before looking to Tristian. "Hey Tristian, look who arived." Her hand descended to land on Adair's head as he shook it a bit, trying to slip the hand back off. He didn't want to be babied, at least right now.

"Tristian? It's nice to meet you." Lucky for Kainda Adair was borned with a knowlege of manners, he didn't need to be reminded, "So...whose Holden, Kainda?"

"Holden is my little boy," Tristan said answering the question himself, "He is in his room right now. Here, come on in and I'll get him so you can meet him." The man turned away from the door, waving a hand and motioning for them to come in. "Holden!" he then called for his son.

There was a moment before one of the doors opened and Holden stuck his head out. The look on his face was one of innocence and one that was very obviously fake. He saw Kaindra though and smiled leaving his room completely before he noticed Adair and stopped and just looked at the other boy.

Kainda smiled when she saw Holden come out. She grabed Adair's hand and steped inside, tired of hoving around outside and feeling comfortable enough with Tristian, if not his house, to feel okay doing that. He proably would have invited her in if Adair hadn't ask the question.

Adair stared up at the boy too, golden eyes gleaming as he veiwed the racoon boy. He took two steped forward, his tail flickering around as his wings opened a little, almost like he was trying to claim dominence in this realtionship. He didn't say anything, just watched the racoon boy, and waited to see what he would do.

Holden said nothing of course, just looked at this new boy. He had wings and he had not been to fond of the last person he had met with wings (how dare Gavin call him an alien) but he had a tail too and so far in his life everyone he had met with a tail was a good person. He didn't know what to think so he looked to Tristan.

The man shook his head, Holden could be so ridiculous some times. "Why don't you show him your room, you two could play or something," Tristan suggested, "That is if Kaindra doesn't mind." He added the last part unsure if a play date was the actual reason for being there.

Holden shrugged and nodded and turned to walk back to his room, after taking a few steps he paused to wait to see if the other boy would follow.

"Of course it's okay, go on ahead Adair." Kainda prompted as she let go of his hand and tried to shoo him up. Adair glanced back at Kainda but started to move up stairs. Kainda smiled and turned back to Tristian. "So, I got him. Had myself a little scare on the walk home but." She shrugged and grined a bit, "I think we'll be okay."

Adair steped into the room catiously, looking around as he paded quietly with his leoine feet. His tail swished a bit but his wings remained open as he tried to look a bit bigger than he really was, still trying to gain domination.

"So...I'm Adair." he finally introduced himself.

Tristan watched the boys go and then turned back to Kaindra. "He seems like a really nice boy. So you're doing alright with him?"

The first thing that would be noticed about Holden's room is that it was clean. Very clean considering it belonged to a little boy. The only thing on the floor right now was a box that was covered in tin foil but Holden pushed it under his bed when he entered.

When Adair introduced himself Holden waved and then pointed to himself before saying, "'Olden" and then he pointed to various different places around his room trying to show Adair where all his toys were so they could figure out what to do.

Kainda watched her boy moved carefuly up the stairs. "I don't know if nice is the right word, yet at least. I dunno, we're in this kinda catious stage, nether of us knows the limits of the other yet. And to be honest I'm not entirely sure how to do this guardian thing." Kainda rubbed the back of her head slightly and sighed as she shook her head. "We haven't been around each other for long."

"Olden." Adair repeated as he looked around the room, watching as the racoon boy started to point things out. "Very nice, so what do you normally do?" Adair asked quietly as he reached out to touch some things. His clawed hands griping and scratching some of the stuff he touched. He didn't have really good control over his claws just yet.

"All you have to do to be a good guardian is make sure he doesn't try and eat things he shouldn't and keep sharp objects away from him, its not that hard really," Tristan said with smile and then the host in him took over , "You can sit down if you like and can I get anything?"

Holden winced a little as a few of his possessions were clawed. But he tried to ignore it and went to go dig out some of his toys. He ended up pulling out some lego and a box of little plastic toy soldiers. "Other stuff too," he muttered just to let Adair know they didn't have to play with those.

Kainda looked around, his place was pretty kid proof she realized. She'd have to get those little plastic things for their outlets. Adair had a curious personality and those claws of his.

"Yeah I geuss that sounds good, the problem is that he is a sharp object with those claws. At least I know bullies wont be a problem for him." Since for a while Kainda did have that problem, before she learned how to make use of her teeth and speed. Then she was the one protecting her little siblings. "And no, it's okay, I'm fine just as I am."

Adair droped a pen, which thanks to his scratches cracked when it hit the floor. The ink spilled out on the carpet, leaving what was sure to be a bright blue stain. Adair blinked, then blushed a little as he reached down to try to grab it, only snaping it again in his haste.

"Oh sorry!" Adair called out, gathering the pieces carefully as he jumped up, steping in the ink so he trailed it over the carpet as he droped the shards of plastic into a trash and turned to see the bigger mess he was making.

"Yeah, I can see the claws being a problem, but you'll figure it out, just like I figured out Holden's muteness. You learn to deal," Tristan said with his best effort to reassure her.

Holden didn't realized what had happened at first and then when Adair tried to pick up the pen the first time and the colour of the ink remained it hit him. He went rigid at the sight of the stain on his carpet and his eyes went wide.

He was obsessive about the neatness of his room. All the other rooms were allowed to be a little dirty because Tristan was incapable of keeping things clean but for the most part his room was immaculate. No one got it dirty.

He saw Adair step in the ink and made to try and stop him but it was too late, further mess was made. Holden didn't know what to do, this mess, it was wrong. He wanted to hit Adair or something for doing this but instead he started breathing heavily, hyperventilating almost. He was in an all around state of panic.

"Yeah, I geuss that's all I can do. He's polite at least, don't have to worry about that." She was pretty releived about that. Manners was never the kitsune's strong point, she didn't want to raise a rude child or one who she'd have to lecture all the time about that.

Adair blinked a little as he looked to the boy. He felt guilty, he saw that the kid must have just cleaned his room and he got it all messy but...he seemed to have trouble breathing. Adair moved over quickly, one clawed hand streaching out to stroke his back slightly.

"Olden? Are you okay?" Adair asked worried.

Holden was pretty close to tear (still being a child they came pretty easily). He shook his head furiously. He was not okay, how could he be okay? There was ink all over his floor. He wouldn't be okay until it was good and gone.

"Need... clean," he said and looked around helplessly for something to try and make it better but he had yet to get to the point where he kept cleaning supplies in his room. So He did the only thing he could think of, he moved to his bedroom door and yelled, "DAD!"

Holden talking was rare, Holden yelling, well this was the first time as far as Tristan knew. He had been about to say something when he heard that and he turned to look in the direction of the bedroom, a worried look spreading across his face before he went to go check, moving rather quickly.

When he got there and looked into the bedroom his eyes fell on the ink stains and he let out a sigh of relief. He knew Holden was freaking out but no one was hurt or anything like that. "It's okay Holden I'm sure we can clean that out."

Adair was confused, no he passed confused a long time ago and was close to tears himself. Those sympathy tears that toddlers seemed to get around each other. When one cried the other had to be close as well or else it just wouldn't work. The second Tristian entered the room Adair fell back, aware, painfully now, of what his claws could really do. Or at least more aware than he was before.

"Sorry! My fault! I can clean it!" Adair said determained, jumping up and moving forward as he looked at Tristian determained. Adair wasn't that motivated of a child, but he had commited a wrong to a kid who had done nothing to wrong him first. He needed to make it up.

Kainda was two steps behind Tristian and looked at the stain then saw the plastic shards still there. Her eyes looked to Adair and any form of lecture died at her lips. What was there to lecture? He seemed to be aware he did something wrong and wanted to make it right.

"I think that be a good idea Tristian, he made the mess, so he should clean it up." Kainda agreed with a nod, proud of her little Adair of being aware enough to realize it. She wouldn't expect that of a little boy.
