Forget everything you know about vampires...
Because it won't do you any good. They aren't evil, they aren't only night-dwellers, and they have little control over their lives. Your image of them destroyed, lets move on to rebuilding the correct one, shall we?
~..::-=`Matsuro`=-::..~ ............Fate............
First of all, vampires aren't dead. They don't drink human blood, and they don't turn to ash if exposed to sunlight. If you try to drive a stake through their heart, they will take it out and shove it up your a**. If you sprinkle holy water on them, they'll laugh and proceed to drown you in it. Vampires are born from Lilith, and are extremely beautiful, pale, immortal humans. Their skin is pale, yet there is slight warmth underneath it. Despite being born from evil, they are the incarnations of what good was in Lilith. You can call them atonements for her sins, if you like. Vampires are born, not made, and only born by a male and female vampire. This means there is no such thing as a half vampire. Vampires subsist on animal blood, and mainly work in the night because its during the night when their powers and abilities are the strongest. For example, a vampire could call an intense gale of fire during the night, but at best can start a bonfire during the day. On the new moon, they lose their powers for the day and night. They are like normal humans, only they still maintain their immortality, and they still must feed on blood or die. Vampires do not sleep, do not dream, do not have any ability to close their eyes and rest. They're like the energizer bunny on speed... they just keep going. They also are incapable of reproducing more than one child through their whole lives, and if it looks like they are close to overpopulation, they will stop reproducing altogether. Until other vampires die in their duties, (later mentioned), the population rarely decreases. The child goes to the first couple that does 'it' that hasn't already reproduced... wether thay want one or not. Earlier, it was mentioned they have little control over their lives... and this, too, is true. Vampires are the protectors of humankind, keeping them safe from demons and fallen angels. Vampires cannot kill humans unless threatened with exposure or death, or unless the humans are the ones endangering others. They cannot pursue a normal human life, because even if by day they can act the normal human, at night, they have no choice but to go to where their help is needed- and it is always needed. Vampires tend to not try to hold relationships with humans because they know no children will come of it, and because any normal human would ask where the vampire went at night, and why they never seemed to sleep. Some vampires resent this life, some resign to it... Either way, their fate, their destiny, is to protect the very people who either fear them for the base legends, or extol them for knowing better.

There will be no rule post unless adequate events cause it. I trust you all to be responsible. Just PM me the profile titled "Matsuro", 'kay?
Umm... I was lying! 5 sentence minimum! Make 'em LONG sentences, if you please! ^_^ Profile rules and post. Post the profile in the color you plan to use. Try not to have too many repeating colors.Gaianame: Character name: Vampire, human, or demon?: Age (appearance): Personality: Appearance: Power: (Don't go overboard, please.) Other (not a bio... fill that out in the story, if you really want one): Imalane Gaianame: Imalane Character name: Koutetsu Metsuki (is usually called Tetsu for short) Vampire, human, or demon?: Vampire Age (appearance): Looks to be anywhere from 17 to 21. Personality: Koutetsu is one of those disgruntled with the fate of protecting ungrateful humans. He is somewhat embittered to the world. Despite this, he also is one who likes to have people around him, no matter what he might say otherwise. He won't associate with people he doesn't like, and will spare no time in being gentle or tactful about letting them know it. Tetsu is a naturally protective person, and he will protect the people he does like. He's kind of naive when it comes to girls, because he hasn't met a girl he was very interested in yet. As such, he'll blush like a school boy at the mention of girls' bodies and the like. He's rather innocent there, on the whole. One notable thing about his personality: Tetsu is actually shy. He won't hesitate to tell people his mind, sure, but he won't speak up until it's actually necessary. He'll hide in the background, until dragged into center stage. But once there, he'd be damned if he doesn't use that time in center stage to the fullest. If someone doesn't want Tetsu to be brutally honest, it's best to let him stay in the background where he wants to be. Appearance: Power: Koutetsu can manipulate metal of any kind, and can slightly control fire. Other: Tetsu is an accomplished cook, and a rather accomplished fighter. Koutetsu Metsuki was wandering around at random. It was daytime, and the sun glared above him. He blinked at it. According to human legends, he should be exploding into ash. As if. He snorted when he thought the word 'humans'. Those jerks weren't worth protecting. And yet, sure enough, the irressitible call to protect a human in danger would attack him. Even if he tried to ignore it, he couldn't. Even if he had met the human before and hated the person, he would save them. Even if he didn't want to. He hated the fate he was stuck with- an eternity of protecting humankind because Lilith wanted to atone for her sins. Why not just pray for forgiveness like everyone else and be done with it? He let out a sigh. Tetsu dropped his gaze from the sun above to the ramen stand before him. He shrugged, and went in. Not like human food would do him any good... but at least the taste was okay.

Azirel poked and prodded her food with a silver, cold fork. She picked up some green thin paper like stuff drench with yellow dressing watching it slop down and hit the plate once more. Her eyes adverted to the door and the well know smirk slid across her face, showing white, straight, pointed teeth. She spun slowly around to get a better look. Sniffing the air loosely, she let her smile widen and crossed her arms. Her back now against the table looking at the vampire. At least she wasn't the only one among all the humans. She might even have fun with this one. She had gotten out of the daylight and stowed away in a little restaurant, among other things, and ordered human grub, hoping it would give her something to do. But of course she was just as bored, and the only thing that kept her occupied was listening to the drab conversation on how so and so cheated on some girl, or how the rent was up in an apartment. Now, now things changed she now had herself a play toy. The next thing was to figure out what to do with the man. Azirel's eyes gleamed slightly, waiting for his reaction or even just to see if he noticed she was here.

Koutetsu sat down at the bar, ignoring the tables. The place he sat in was the corner, and gave him a prime view of everything. "Ramen bowl..." He said, not even waiting for the waiter behind the bar to take his order. He sighed and sat, his eyes narrowing, looking closed. He swept his gaze about the restaurant, then finally fell on a scarred woman sitting at a table. He crossed his arms and let out a huffy breath. 'A demon... what's it doing, mingling around the humans? Ah well... if it ain't hurting them, I ain't bothering it.' This decided, he turned toward the bar again. "Coke, please."

Azirel yawned slightly and turned back around, now using her bare hands to touch the grimy crap that was now starting to turn sour. "They need a better cook." She looked over at the doorway to where the cook might be. She then glanced back at the vampire. She grabbed her plate, pushed back her chair and walked to the door, "What is this?" Azirel said leaning against the wall, the plate outstretched. The man looked over at her and frowned after a few seconds. 'Humans are slow.' She thought watching as he took a few steps toward her. "Your not suppose to be in here." "Oh pardon me, but I have problems with eating crap." She pushed the man backward with a finger. He was caught off-guard and did what she had wanted. "Now tell me..." From there her words became muffled and blended in with the rest of what was going on around the restaurant.

Tetsu felt the surge of power, and then came that blasted, cursed, and damnable urge. He grunted, and stood, slowly. He didn't want to have to deal with this. 'Damn that demon... why did it have to act up during his down time in the day? For crying out loud...' He turned to the demon, and walked toward her, an almost bored expression on her face. He pushed the human away to safety, and lowered his face to hers. "Listen, this is MY time. I don't feel like having to kill some knuckleheaded demon right now... so just leave the humans alone." He glared at the demon. It was because of things like her that he had to deal with this crap. It was because the congenital urge to kill was so strong in demons.

"Oh like I care... I want better food, and until I get that, I will do no such thing as leave. Now if you want to get in the middle of it, but your not at your strongest now, so I wouldn't push it." Azirel smiled annoyingly and looked back at the cook, "Now where's my food, love?" She then took a few steps his way.

He pushed her back from the human. "Strong enough to kill you. Demons aren't meant to eat human food... it's probably why it tastes so bad." He whispered the words, aware the humans were getting curious. "If you must eat food that most demons wouldn't be able to stand, even if it was 4-star gourmet cuisine quality, then don't b***h when it doesn't taste right." Koutestsu, put his hands on his hips and gave her a cold, hard glare. "This is my time to relax, but if you insist on troubling humans, I will HAVE to kill you." He didn't say want, or need. He said have... showing the obligation behind it. It wouldn't matter wether or not he cared as to the treatment of humans, he HAD to protect them.

]"No I really don't care if he makes me another dish, I was just going to have fun and kill him anyway... so you might as well kill me..." Azirel shrugged slightly and looked back at the now petrified human. She sighed, he was no fun anymore, the vampire ruined him. She looked back at the abnormal male and her dark eyes narrowed, "Oh your just horrible. You ruin everything, don't you?" She pushed to the side and walked out of the cooking area with another sigh. What was she suppose to do now?

Tetsu sighed in relief. That was one hassle taken care of... at least for now. He rubbed the back of his head and reentered the main room. Ignoring the fuming demon, he sat down to his bowl of ramen. "Itadakimasu..." He began to dig into the ramen. It didn't matter if all it did was taste good. It gave him a feeling of being what he wanted to be- the protected rather than the protector. He slurped the noodles, using chopsticks and ignoring the spoon in the bowl. He preferred choptsticks. He continued to chewed contentedly on the noodles and bits of beef.

Koutestsu finished his ramen and smacked his lips. What to do now? He stood up, and felt a slight urge to go toward the west. He didn't think so- this was HIS time. He might manage to ignore it this time. He walked out the door, leaving money on the table, and turned to the east. He resolutely began to step forward. His foot wouldn't move, and his body refused to leave the area. Apparently he was the only vampire close enough to the person in trouble. Otherwise, he should have been able to ignore it- it was daytime, after all. The urge to protect was more manageable then.
Tetsu turned and walked west. His pace slowly increased until he was at a run. He saw a man trying to force himself on a girl. "Honestly, in the middle of the day..." Tetsu mumbled to himself. "What an idiot!" He hid himself behind a dumpster, and slowly placed his hand upon the ground. Metal formed between the man and the girl. "The hell?!" The man exclaimed, surprised by the sudden appearance of metal. Tetsu stood up, and the metal closed around the man and lifted him up. The girl was staring up in horror, huddled against the wall. Tetsu closed his fist, and the metal compressed. An agonized scream was cut short, and the metal disappeared, a couple drops of blood all the evidence that a man had existed. Tetsu remained hidden as the girl went running, to frightened to scream. He sighed and stepped out onto the street once more, trying to blend in with the crowd. He failed at it, seeing as his silver hair made it hard to blend in anywhere. He reached into a pocket and withdrew a pack of Paipo cigarettes. All the fun of nicotine without the cancer and the lighting up. He stuck the cig in his mouth and inhaled. Good thing about Paipo- he didn't have to light it.
