Ghost hadn't visited the beach in awhile, so she decided to make her way to her favorite spot. The wind became heavier as she approached the hefty waves, and the moment she reached the sand, she giggled to herself at the mushy feeling. There was no way she would go into the water, since last time she had almost drowned! Instead, she just wandered up the beach, and drifted into another strange thought. The beach always reminded her of her youth, so she trailed in her own thoughts for many minutes later.
For some reason, the ocean was reminding her of a strange memory of when she was younger, and when her brother had pushed her into the waves recklessly. At the time she remembered being extremely angry, but looking back now, she could only laugh to herself foolishly. Her brother was much more grown up now, and sometimes she wished he would just let lose like he did so long ago. But well, that's what people did when they grew older, and sometimes Ghost hated having to be mature.
Once again, she was drifting off in her own world, and was remaining unaware to the beach around her. To her perception she was alone, so she continued to walk and think aimlessly about random things.

A long, slender tail held itself above the ground, swishing slowly to the steady beat of waves. It hovered dangerously close over the sand, pebbles, and occasional muck that washed in from the shore, as if it did not want to make contact with its surroundings. Pale gold hooves sunk into the land with each step; each additional step made the stallion feel somewhat restless, though he kept his composure.
The beach was not his favorite place, but the peace and calm that was usually associated with the scenery called him there. Perhaps it would have been better if a small friend of his were here with him--she, unlike him, enjoyed the sunny splendor of the location. He himself much preferred the woods, where he deemed it easier to roam around in, and perhaps even hide from potential threats. The views on the beach, though beautiful, allowed for things to spot him from afar...
...Speaking of which, a pink-peach-black figure seemed to emerge from the shoreline, which stunned the stallion for a moment with its odd array of color. Intrigued, the wolf-colored stallion began a canter towards the distinct form, putting an amiable smile on his face. Something sporting those colors couldn't be threatening at all...

The male's thoughts on Ghost were entirely correct, and even though the male was approaching, Ghost still had no idea that he was even near her at all. Bouncing a bit as she walked, she was in a light hum, while steadily watching the water. It wasn't until a noise of a twig breaking broke her out of her daze, and she turned her head quickly to see the male approaching!
Blinking at this new discovery, she moved her body so that she was facing the grey figure, and smacked a usual smile on her face. "Well hello there! I didn't know I had company!" Still a bit shocked that she hadn't noticed him early, she wrapped her tail around her leg and watched him carefully.
There was something about him that looked strong, and she noticed that he was a full blooded unicorn. The spot on his nose made her want to giggle, and she found it matching with his coloring. "What brings you out to the beach today?" she then babbled, since remaining quiet was always hard for her to do. Her eagerness ti speak to him was apparent, and she eyed him happily while awaiting what he would say.

What betrayal, he thought as the crack of a twig underneath his right hoof gave away his position. At once he looked towards the other figure--female he acknowledged at once, of course--her coloration on a male would have been a sore to see.
"Why, my humblest greetings, young mare--" he had started at about the same time she spoke, and decided to cause less interruption now that she was mid-sentence. She seemed to have binded her leg with her own tail, in response to which the stallion tilted his head in curiosity over the strange behavior. He possessed the same tail, but never had the slightest craving to use it in a way like that. Ah, he had a peculiar one here.
But before he had a chance to speak again, the mare piped up, posing a question that even he did not know the answer to.
"Fair question from a fair lady," he replied as he took his eyes off of her, instead scanning the horizon line of the ocean. It was around midday, if his calculations were correct, and the energizing sun on his back coupled with the distinct sound of the sea caused him to say something that was entirely different than his original answer: "I believe I came here to see you, if I am not mistaken. It was more than mind and body that took me here, if you understand."
He winked smoothly and paused to examine the female in front of him a bit more, now that he was closer. She was of the same breed as him, if only differentiated by the black wings reminiscent of butterflies sprouting from her sides. They seemed so different from her own body--as if she had stolen them from another being, but perhaps that would be something to ask in the future, when it wouldn't be rude.
"May I introduce myself?" he began calmly, "I am called Kalimirchi... and yes, I believe the spirits compelled me to come to this place, perhaps... to meet you?" He gave a charming smile, hoping that such a bubbly-colored mare wouldn't take in his words the wrong way. "What bade you come here, if I may ask myself?"

What a suave character, Ghost could only giggle after he spoke, before trying to regain some polite composure. "Well I am grateful for your company!" It had been awhile since she had met someone new, and this character looked as though he would be quite interesting for her!
She also gave him a slight nod as he introduced himself, and she flapped her wings happily before she spoke. "It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Ghost, Kalimirchi." She hoped she pronounced that correctly, and it rolled off her tongue in a playful manner. What an interesting name, she wondered where its origin was from. "I never knew the spirits were on my side." she then said, giving him a light toss of her mane. "I never get this sort of luck.. so maybe you are just a lucky fellow?"
At his question, she puckered her lip as she always did, and tilted her head in a spaced out expression, though was semi-deep in thought. "I love coming to the beach so, I guess before I realized it, I had made my way over here?" She really did get lost a lot, and it was extremely pathetic when she truly thought about it!
"So you are a full blooded unicorn?" she wagged her tail then, while peering down at his own. "I don't see many of those around, and others have told me how strange I am. I just tell them they are strange back!" With a goofy grin, she moved her bangs out of her face once again, and peered back at the stallion. Breed didn't really matter to her, but she he was the first Unicorn she had seen before.

Ghost's lightheartedness only brightened up the mood, and Kalimirchi could not help but hide an amused smile as the mare giggled. Surely she could not be new to the manners of a gentleman?
He bowed at Ghost's introduction and quickly said, "Pleasure to meet you," in mimic. He noticed that his name was pronounced peculiarly, but gave no mind to that; perhaps he did not speak clearly enough when giving his name, or Ghost thought it was funny. He certainly did not think it was, and he was proud to bear a name granted to him at birth. "Lucky, am I?" he responded with slight mirth.
"I guess we are both lucky that the two of us stumbled onto the beach, for what better company than one akin to your own kind? Though I regret to say that I am not exactly as fond of the beach as you may be," he emphasized by turning his head towards the ocean and shaking in sobriety. "But," he turned immediately back to Ghost, a silent sense of gaiety back in his expression, "Indeed I am, as you may put it, purely unicorn. I may be making an ill-conceived thought if I said one of your parents is one themselves, while the other not?"
"Hmm," he continued, beginning to encircle Ghost slowly, though never taking his ice blue eyes off of her, "Those who do not appreciate you for your true beauty--that is, your natural possessions, do not deserve your attention. How one can say that you are strange is, in my view, strange itself. Quite puzzling... Not many of us around, you say? I myself spotted one or two around the woods, where I prefer to take refuge in, but ah..." He trailed off, his body too, halting in compliance. Then, all of a sudden, he positioned his tail in a curve, arcing it over his back, and held his head up high to point his horn towards the sun. "We should be proud of who and what we are, Ghost. I hope I do not come across those who do not accept along my path, but if they do happen to come across me, let us both hope that I teach them some sense."
He winked at Ghost upon his last words and lowered himself from his last stance. He also flashed a quick smile her way before taking a few steps towards the part where the water splashed onto the sand, and bent down to inspect a shell. "What do you find... pleasing on the beach, anyhow?" he asked, adopting a more casual conversation topic. "Aside from these remnants of life," he referred to the shell, "I do not believe much company come here..."

Ghost wasn't sure how to react to his flirty methods, since she had experienced such a stallion like that before. Kalmirchi was much more pollite then the other stallion from her past, though she remembered getting extremely angry at the other's motives. It was such horrible intentions, that just thinking about it made the female's cheeks turn red. She didn't want to judge Kal in the same method, so she tried hard to look past his little comments, and respond to some of his other statements.
"Others only bicker at what they cannot have, so they see my wings and deem them hideous. I know my breed and coloring only make others feel less unique, or at least.." she paused, and smiled lightly. "That's what I like to imagine when I am feeling down." It wasn't like her to put up with others words, her parents had taught her much better then that. But still.. it was always so hard to look past others opinions.
"Maybe I am easier to attack?" she brought her eyes away from his, and pondered at a thought. "I should toughen myself, my coloring makes me seem too fluffy." She then looked back at him, and looked into his eyes carefully. "What do you think? When you saw me here, did you find me easily approached? Maybe that is my problem.." was she too easy to walk over? How terrible..
"The beach is my first love, even though I almost drowned once. The beach is also where I found someone I truly love." Yes, that was easily stated of course.

Kalimirchi came up from his inspection in the sand and smiled vaguely, taking in Ghost's words. She seemed hesitant at first in her responses--perhaps it was because he had spoken a word too many? Whatever the cause, he averted his eyes from her to take his focus away to reflect instead on the calm environment. He had hoped she would not take offense to this, for though he looked like he was not listening, it was against his morals to ignore allies.
"Woe to the insecurities of others, then," he said softly after Ghost testified about the position her physical qualities put her in. "We needn't feel remorse nor repentance for our true selves."
He let his last words sink in before responding further, "Indeed, if those around you fail to judge you as an equal, I suppose it is best to... move on." Judging by how down Ghost seemed to be about her breed, perhaps she was more youthful than she looked -- innocent and inexperienced with the world, and inept at dealing with less than wanted situations.
"But yes," he admitted, an eye turning back in her direction. He could not help but let one corner of his mouth raise in a humored way. "You were a bit bright on the eyes, even though half of you matches the beach itself. But physical attributes do not matter as much as what comes from inside, and the heart," he tried to console.
Kalimirchi smiled and turned back to her once she mentioned her two loves. It made him happier that despite the trouble that seemed to come in her life, she found one who accepted her. However...
"Almost drowned?" he asked, a puzzled expression on his face; he could not decide whether to frown or be amused--who would get that close to the deeper part of the ocean water? "What is the story to that, dare I ask?" Though he could surmise already that her true love most likely saved her from that possible demise. Ah, how good it was to know that there are still some gallant knights around today!

"Yeah, I know." she then said, with a slight pout. "My parents wouldn't like to hear that kind of talk from me. But ah, I can't help it sometimes."
As the stallion continued to speak, Ghost was almost star-struck at his words. She had never heard a stallion speak so smoothly, and she ignored her warning thoughts about him being a sleek, untrusting stallion or something. She had Hesperos anyways, so she just enjoyed the stallions speech, and felt honored that he was so kind to her.
"Yes um, I came to the beach looking for my favorite stallion, but I decided to take a swim first. Before I knew it, I had gone too far out into the ocean, and the current was too strong. It was so stupid of me, when I think about it." She rolled her eyes, but then brought them back on Kal. "Hesperos saved me, as usual. I really tend to mess up like that, and make him worry."
She decided to be forward and ask him her own question. "Do you have a mare that you adore, then?" She wasn't sure how to phrase it, so she tried to sound polite.

A quick albeit reassuring and friendly nuzzle came from Kalimirchi. Poor girl, Ghost seemed too sheltered now to be out here, but he supposed it was for the best that she had ventured out. Better to know the harshness of reality than being stuck at home in a perfect, laid-out atmosphere.
Kalimirchi listened to Ghost's tale, and thought how noble it was to have saved a lady from the treacherous wrath of the waters! He nodded as she finished her story, and could not help but chuckle as he remembered, "Went in the water for a swim, did you?" He never really preferred the waters himself, and it was hard to imagine Ghost in the waters, soaking her enlarged wings.
"You must be glad you met your love this early in life," he commented, truly happy for her. "Sounds like he's a keeper as well. But do not worry, the best of us mess up, such as myself... Just make sure you learn from the wonderful lessons experience give us."
"And as for me," his expression waned a bit, hinting at his slight displeasure in the matter, "I have no mare to call my own, but I suppose it is for the better, as I have... yet to tame the wilderness hidden within me, you see?" He smiled again, but weakly, reflecting back on his past life that was filled with so many hardships that he got through on pure primal instinct. It was not a life he enjoyed, but it got him through rough spots, and now, he would never be able to rid of the wilderness that he had been born into.
"But enough of that; perhaps I shall meet this savior of yours one day. He seems like a solid fellow, and there aren't enough of those around. I daresay I'd enjoy crossing paths with at least one in my lifetime!"

(( LAWL SHORT POST biggrin ))
She was quiet while Kal talked, since she wanted to learn more about him. It made sense now, that his personality fit all of the things he said earlier to her. His suave attitude, and his witty remarks. She was starting to understand him better. "I don't think that is a bad way to live, some just choose other methods you know?" With a bright grin, she nodded before poking at his other comment.
"I have met so many, some being rude, with some being sneaky. Hesperos is a measure of perfect I can't describe." It was in Ghost's personality to look and act eager for love, and even though Kal was different in that sense, she believed that everyone had the ability to find their own love.
"I believe you will have an experience like that someday. I dunno, just have a feeling I suppose." Wagging her tail at a slight breeze, she brought her eyes on the area and continued to smile at her thought. Kal would probably never admit to it, but he seemed like he was a solid character in his own way, and she wished she could give him that credit.

Nodding silently, the stallion accepted Ghost's additional bit of wisdom and left it at that. His attention was almost diverted by the sun, whose glow was starting to imprint itself orange against the blue sky. Apparently quite some time had passed by since the two ran into each other even though it merely felt like seconds.
"Perfect, you say?" he inquired with a smile. He knew nothing could ever be perfect in the world, and this doubtful nature often forced him to set a wall between himself and others. "I apologize, but I do not believe in such a thing, I am far too cynical for my own good. Was it here, on the shore, that you met him?" He paused. "Must have been very beautiful that day..."
He found his gaze wandering towards the horizon line again. It would almost be time to go, but not before exchanging some few last words...
He turned back to Ghost and truthfully said, "Do not feel sad or anything for me, a bond such as the one you have with Hesperos is something one must achieve at their own pace. I do not believe it is time for me yet, or perhaps it never will, but I accept whatever life brings me."
"But for now... the sun is spraying colors over the sky," he motioned towards it, squinting a little, "I must say, I wish I had a yearning for the beach like you, but no place will ever feel right to me except the woods, my home." He hesitated before adding, "Perhaps we can meet again someday where I am in my element."

"I am an positive person I suppose, so I don't have a problem using the word perfect." she looked at him, realizing not everyone believed that sort of thing. "But either way, yes.. I did meet him on the beach." Whether Kal wanted or not, she did feel sort of sorry for him. But he obviously had his own life experiences that she wasn't used to. It was hard for even Ghost to understand everyone, but she was used to that by now.
She also looked towards the sky after he spoke, which was becoming her favorite color. "Oh, would you look at that." she really was awful when she didn't pay attention, and she giggled for a moment before looking back towards Kal.
"In the woods you say? Well, I will have to venture out that way I suppose, but hopefully I won't get lost!" Her usual smile beamed on her face, but she caught Kal's hint that it really was late.
Shaking her head to get her bangs out of her eyes, she titled her head slightly and looked towards Kal one last time. "Well, have a safe trip back into the woods. I am sure I will see you again, and I enjoyed your company." Despite their differences, it was still very enjoyable to talk to the stallion so casually.
"Goodbye Kalimirchi." With a flap of her wings, she started to walk off in the opposite direction before realizing how tired she was from the day. It was time for her to go rest for the night, while the stallion was just venturing out. She continued to smile as she walked away, and she imagined that Kal would prowl through the night, while she would lay sleeping in her dreams.

Kalimirchi found himself nodding again in response to Ghost. It was fine to view life that way sometimes, he supposed, as long as there were limitations.
He smiled as Ghost giggled at the sky's natural beauty, appreciating the moment. He enjoyed taking in the pure innocence of others he came across, and this was no exception. "If you treat the woods with respect and accept its invitation, you will never get lost," he calmly stated. "Until we meet again, and, likewise..." He winked. "Don't let the water trap you again on your way!"
And as Ghost said her goodbye, he took a moment to watch her fading figure before turning towards the woods for himself. As he entered, he quietly prayed that the two would meet again in the same manner they had at first--in a safe circumstance with appealing scenery.
