Well, I was just sitting here, still drowning in self pity as I wait for my ordered version of the third book of the Twilight series to finally come in, when I remembered a thread in the entertainment seciton about a Twilight movie.

Now, I heard it was defintiely brought up, but MTV did something and it was cancelled. I'm not too sure about it.

But what do you think? Should or should there not be a Twilight movie? Movies based off of books tend to be alot different and changed. Take Eragon, for example. Where was the elves in that? The dwarves? Murtagh wanting to take Eragon to the Varden? Now, there was a change in his attitude. Did anyone care to notice all the deleted scenes were actual scenes in the book? Odd.

Personally, I think movies based off of books tend to be a lot different, changed, and odd. But then again, sometimes they're really good.

This thread is to discuss such things. What movies you thought based off of books were good, what were bad, and what books should be made into movies.

I'm actually hoping they make a movie for the Maximum Ride series. But twilight? It may make my heart drop. ;_;

I'm going to go on my Eragon rant now. <3 Even though I liked the first half of the movie. Actually, I liked it up until Murtagh came into the picture. Boo on Murtagh.
THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS. For people who haven't seen it. XD

Okay. Let's start with Eragon first. Eragon isn't blonde. He's supposed to have brown hair, like it says, literally in the first few pages of the first chapter. And with Saphira, ya know? She wasn't supposed to suddenly just grow up with a shock of thunder in the middle of a sunny day. Huh.
Back to Eragon. Although he is supposed to learn the works of the old language and useful magic, how did he suddenly speak Brisingr or however it's spelt when he'd never heard the word? Maybe he did from Brom, but it wasn't in film. I can just imagine it.
Brom: Pst. Hey Edward? Sya Brisingr in this part. Will look cool.

Yeah right. Alright. Continuing.
The Razac. Or however they're spelt.
Okay, first off, the Razac are dressed in cloaks, have weird looking skin, and have beaks and can talk and hiss and all. They're like bird mutants or something. Like featherless griffon parents. Haha.
AND THEY WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO DIE! Don't worry. This isn't a spoiler for all of those eragon lovers but haven't seen the movie. It's okay. -Pats back-

Going to Angela and her werecat.
Where were they, exactly? I mean, Angela was there and all, but what about the port city, Brom's friend, the werecat, the toad for pete's sake? It was a dark place that made no sense. I mean, sure, Brom went and spoke to some guy which must've been his friend, btu Eragon should've listened to them with his little magic powers. <3

Although, they did a pretty good part when Saphira went and saved Arya, Eragon, and all of that stuff going on and Brom dying. Even though the razac were supposed to kill him. I mean, they're dead though, so how could they?
WHY WAS GALBITORIX EVEN IN THE MOVIE? AND HIS FRIGGIN' DRAGON? HO SHIZIT>>>>>

Moving on then. Murtagh. Why was Murtagh willing to take Eragon to the varden? If you've read the book, you would know what I mean. And where was the Twins?
Going to the deleted scenes.
In the deleted scenes, there is one with the twins.
There is also the scene where Eragon blesses the child.
Where Katrina gives Eragon meat.
Where Sloan tries to get the egg back from Eragon.
Why delete scenes that are from the book? It makes no sense to me!

And Nasuaca. She like, had one part. Which was ridiculous.
WHERE WAS THE ELVES AND DWARVES?!>>>>
Arya was there, but she wasn't an elf.

Okay. I have A LOT more to say. But, I won' go on.
All I have to say is... if they're going to make a movie based off of Eldest, how are they going to do it?
Now, there may be quite reasons for all of this going, but it just ticked me off.
But I'm done now.
More rants to come! Dun dun.

It's interesting what you think of the Eragon movie! Yes, I went with my brother, who hadn't read the book, to see it in theaters. When Brom died and was buried under the crystal thing, my brother asked me why he had been buried in ice. o.O

I get what you're saying about Twilight, as well. I'd be afraid of the movie beeing different. Now that I think about it, whenever I pictured Bella, I saw the back of her head. Whenever I pictured Edward, I just saw his eyes, whatever color they were at the time. Anywho, I hope it will be close to the book.

Like the movie Peter Pan (with Jason Isaacs as Mr.Darling and Captain Hook)). The dialogue in that movie was almost exactly the same as in the book. If in Twilight, they use different dialogue, I'm afraid Edward will lose some of his charm....
I might vote a razzie for it if that happens...

Anyone seen the massacre of Blood and Chocolate? Anyways generally fantasy conversions don't work out well. I'm not sure as I've yet to read the Twillight series despite being told to several times by several friends who all think I'd probably really like them. I'm lazy and I like owning books- I'm also poor. What can I say?

Lol anyways I'm not sure how well it would work out. OOOH bringing to life old topics ftw.

I really don't think that they should make Twilight into a movie. It would change my whole perspective of the characters when I read the new books as they come out. I won't be able to leave their appearances and what I, personally, think they would be like to my imagination. Not to mention the tons of little girls that will now become obsessed with Edward and turn one of the best books I've ever read into a cheesy teen chick-flick. I mean c'mon, reading it is better ;D!

The Peter Pan movie (with Jason Isaacs) is actually quite close to the book. I just now remmebered this. The dialogue is almost exactly as it was in the book. Just felt like saying not all of them are screw ups.

But the Bloodrayne movies! (Based from video games) I still can't sit through the first one, it sucks so bad! But director Uwe Bowle has yet to put out an impressive film. I doubt he ever will. It's actually too easy to make fun of that movie.... A simple slice across the neck brings out a flood of cheesy looking blood. It's so hilarious.
