If I recall correctly, Gryffindor is the biggest house... if not, then it's the second biggest behind Slytherin. But none of the Gryffindors are posting except me and Super... the last 2 or 3 pages of the common room are just me and her talking, with one execption, which was when our new head of house posted that she was the new head. WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?! SUPER AND I ARE LONELY!!!! I would say the guild is dead, but that's not really true... people from other houses are posting on the other threads.... but no one is posting in our common room...

Yes to join a guild comes with responsibility! One of the responsibility's is posting now and then. We understand If you don't post for two days... but its only been us for a long while! I think its not fair to the guild or people who do post! biggrin Thank You! ^^

Yeah, and I can understand that some people can't get online for some reasons, because i was gone for a full month right after i joined because i had to go to my dads house and he won't let me online. If you can't get online, that's different. But I've seen where members have been online, posted once, and then left, and sometimes the post doesn't even really say anything

Honestly, I don't like going to the common room very much. I'm not on much, but when I am, I check to read the common room, but there's really nothing for me to talk about. So I don't see a reason to post. I care about what I post in the guild, which means that I think carefully about what I want to say. So...I don't know. I just don't got to the Common Room.

Where are all the Gryffindors, you ask? Why, we're all in our underground bunker, plotting world domination. twisted
...But, you're not supposed to know that.
Erm. Yeah. Other than plotting our world domination, we're just scattered everywhere, doing different things. xD
Let me say this right now: I'm going to be brutally honest. And I mean I'm most likely going to be harsh and mean and all that stuff, but I think we all value honesty here, so there's no point in lying, right?
So, if you don't want to hear me going on a rant, I suggest you not read any further. =D
Alright. According to the Hogwarts Houses page of the forum, Gryffindor has 22 people not including the Head of the House. Slytherin has 15 people not including the Head of the House. Ravenclaw has 13 not including the Head of House and Hufflepuff has 12 people. So, we are right when we say Gryffindor is the largest House in the guild at this time.
Secondly, I care greatly about the Gryffindor House in this guild, considering I have been here since the guild was only about 20 people in size. I stop by at least once everyday, if not more, and I do not like being accused of not caring. If I didn't care, then I wouldn't have made the Gryffindor Common Room, would I have?
Thirdly, responsibility: Yes, I understand there is a responsibility that one takes on when he or she joins this guild. They are expected to come to the guild and chat with others who have come here for that reason. But, that doesn’t mean that they have to post in the Common Room all the time. In fact, they don’t have to post in the Common Room at all if they don’t feel like it.
In other words, you can’t judge how many Gryffindors there actually are that are active and do post because of the number of posts they make in the Common Room.
Another thing I would like to add about the part with the responsibility: When you join the guild, you are expected to post, yes? I have already stated this. But, being active and actually taking on your responsibility doesn’t mean that you go through every single thread and post in every single one at least once. It also doesn’t mean that you go back and revive every thread that hasn’t been used in a year or more. Part of your responsibility is to post detailed thoughts and to point out a different perspective on the topic of discussion. Don’t just post to post, or to raise another year. Post because you want to. It might take a while, but you’ll actually had contributed things to the different threads and that really means something to everyone here.
On another branch of the tree, you and Super might be lonely because you’re spending too much time in the Gryffindor Common Room instead of daring to go out and explore the wide world of threads where everyone can mingle.
But here is the part where I really start to get mean, so if you don’t want to get your feeling hurt or anything, I suggest you read no further. ><
Let me point this out: There is basically only one reason I am staying out of the Gryffindor Common Room at the moment.
Reason: The literacy of the thread has been going downhill and people have been Rping in there.
Let me say this without trying to be really mean.
…On second thought, I can’t really do that, so I’ll come out and say it.
I cringe every time I enter the Gryffindor Common Room. My eye starts to go all twitchy and then I read through the posts.
Alright. That was an over exaggeration.
But, seriously, I am disappointed at the effort of the posts in the Gryffindor Common Room. It seems like the people who are posting there (And I’m not trying to point anyone out) aren’t taking the time to look over what they are posting.
Seriously. I open the thread and what do I see? I see sentences without capital letters, no punctuation, improper grammar, over used smilies, and last but not least, my worst enemy: Chat Speak.
It annoys me to no end when I see stuff like that. So, I just don’t post. It’s as simple as that.
This is the part where I have finished my flaming rant and have returned to normal.
Yeah. I’m one of those people who pop in, read all the threads, finds one she likes, thinks about her answer in full detail, then goes and posts it. I try give a good, detailed (at least a ) paragraph (long) answer. That doesn’t mean I neglect the guild, nor does it mean I don’t care, you see?
And I think I have said enough on this matter. Let me close my mouth before I dig my grave too deep. Although it would be kinda fun…

^^;
Thanks, (Mii, right? (Edit from Fuzziball Fai Fezziwig Jr: I'm Dessie. The other one is Mii. ^^ End Edit.)). I didn't want to say anything about the literacy issue since I've been accused of being mean before. But it has also been a problem for me. Since she left an opening, I would be a fool not to take it.
Super, I'm not trying to be mean, I'm really not. But I do have a problem with a lot of your posts, and not always because of your literacy. Part of it is smilies, the RPing and other things. But probably the biggest thing, and one of the reasons I don't post very much, is that...you seem to be lacking in a great deal of knowledge about the Guild Topic. I mean, for example, you used a specific movie spell for fixing glasses to fix a mundane item, and then spelled it wrong.
As I said, I'm not trying to be mean, but I can't fix everything and instead of offending people I don't really know, I tend to shy away from those types of situations.
As for another point that Fuzziball had, you seem to be intent on reviving threads that have been dead for a very long time. And I have a sneaky feeling that a lot of posts weren't because you actually cared about the topic, either. But I go no farther on that.
The above reason that I posted earlier was true, but...in a way, this is slightly more true. I don't want to be mean, and really don't want you to hate me, but I'm rather glad that it's all out. There's not much I can add to what our dear moderator said, but my heart feels less heavy. I apologize if I have saddened or offended you, any of you, and that I did not post the whole truth on my earlier reason.

I try to check over my posts when i put them up. I know that a lot of the time I accidentaly forget to capitalize and such, but most of my mistakes are from where I've mis-typed. And honestly, all I use for chatspeak is lol. And I don't really use smilies either. I find it a bit of a waste of time to click the smiley, and can't be bothered with it. As for not caring about the things I'm posting on, I get bored, so I go through the pages looking at threads, trying to find something interesting. I click anything that I think will kill some time. It sounds to me like you're accusing me of posting just to get my numbers up. Honestly, I don't care about how many posts I have. I do it for something to do. The reason I tend towards the threads that no one ever uses is that I've already posted on most of the newer threads. All the ones I haven't posted on are about the seventh book, which I have basically been grounded from reading.
However, I feel like if you're not going to be involved in the guild, why are you here anyway? That was the only point I was trying to make. Super and I have been BORED. Flat out bored. So we talk, we do a little RP, it's all in good fun.
And when I use terms from the books, such as spells, I grab my copy and check my spelling. I have honestly spent around 8 minutes looking up some term, I don't even remember what it was, because I wanted to make sure I spelt it right.
I'm not accusign anyone of not caring so much as not being active. It gets annoying to me, because I log on and see that no one has posted anything since I was on two days prior, with the exception on Super and some random people, or the newer members of the guild. If you look back far enough, you can see that I was not the first one to raise this issue. Many people have posted something about the guild being dead. I'm just asking why it is.
'On another branch of the tree, you and Super might be lonely because you’re spending too much time in the Gryffindor Common Room instead of daring to go out and explore the wide world of threads where everyone can mingle.'
I've been first accused of not going into other threads, and then accused of reviving old threads with an ulterior motive as to why I'm doing it. That ticks me off a little bit.
I spend more time in this guild than any of the other guilds I'm in for the simple reason that It has more topics and more to do. The two InuYasha guilds I'm in never have any new posts, the House guild I'm in is dead at the moment because the season is over, and the Pirates Guild is dead as well, though I haven't a clue why. The last thing I want to see is this guild to wind up like that.

It wasn't just your spelling that we've had problems with, Aeariel. And we've said that. I also understand concern about the guild dying, as I have had a few concerns abut that as well.
But here's the thing you ave to remember: People have their own lives. I myself work a ful time job, as does my sister, and my main worry isn't that someone has posted, it's whether or not I'm going to be able to put food on the table for me and my fiancee. I also have several late-summer weddings to help cater, as well as an 8 month old niece to babysit. So I'm sorry if I don't get on much.
But a lot of people have very busy real lives. And I'm very sorry that you have been bored.
I also understand about being accused. There was a whole big things a few months ago about RPing in the common rooms and I was at the thick of it from what I can tell. So I do understand.
Just...try to be a little paitient, maybe not get on so much. Remember that people aren't posting out of malice, that they are just busy with their real lives. There is a point to life at which work becomes more important than play. It is at this point where you are truly an adult.
And if it makes any difference, I apologize for you thinking I was targeting you.
((I figured that out about five minutes after I posted it, actually.))

If you guys are that bored and want to roleplay why don't you go in the thread? I've only seen posts by myself and one other girl in there.
But I agree with Chikamio and Fuzziball Fai Fezziwig Jr (and whoever agrees with them) and their reasons are all of my reasons for staying out of the Common room. Plus, if I feel I don't have anything to say, I don't. Plain and simple. If there were more stimulating convresations in the guild, I would talk more, just like I do in the guild I own.
Cut people some slack everyone... 3nodding

It just gets kind of boring for us when we are the only ones in there... I like talking to people, and there's never anybody to talk to. As for the rp thread, the reason I'm not there is that it's been going on forever without me, and it's very confusing to try and figure out whats going on... if someone would fill me in, I'd be happy to join!

There's only been I think maybe four or five active posts. Those are in the Great Hall and very easy to follow. I've started posts elsewhere, but they haven't been continued yet.
