no it's nothing sexual like Reim thought when i brought it up with him, but are any of you familiar with vibrating palm technique? we use it in our school and i think it comes from kung-fu but i'm not sure seeing as most of our black belts carry rank in more than 2 other arts. it's where you shake your hand back and forth extremely quickly over very short distances. it can be used with strikes or with grappling. it's my favorite technique, since it can be used anywhere. heard of it? experienced it?

Yeah, its just the focusing of sensations in alignment with determined thought patterns, it doesn't really cut it under suprised, adrenal pressure from what I've seen or applied, but maybe it does for you? We're all different/

Jass Yeah, its just the focusing of sensations in alignment with determined thought patterns, it doesn't really cut it under suprised, adrenal pressure from what I've seen or applied, but maybe it does for you? We're all different/ we train maybe once a month or more on just using techniques when surprised. we've got a drill. one person closes their eyes and when the instructor says open, the person with their eyes open throws something at them, punch, kick, etc. the person opening their eyes has to do something to take them out without hesitating. that's probably the only reason why these things work for me. i have to do these drills a lot before the techniques become habit.

Could you clarify this sentence?
"it's where you shake your hand back and forth extremely quickly over very short distances"
I don't quite understand what the technique is.

Reim Delmar_Denban CelestialDreamz I don't quite understand what the technique is. Try impractical. Doesnt mean it's not interesting and it shouldnt be discussed. Meh. Talking about impractical techniques often leads to bashing. It's as if someone made a thread dedicated to Tae Kwon Do kicks.

Talking about impractical techniques often leads to bashing. It's as if someone made a thread dedicated to Tae Kwon Do kicks. But TKD kicks arent obscure and thought provoking, even if its impractical.

Delmar_Denban CelestialDreamz I don't quite understand what the technique is. Try impractical. Even if it is impractical, I still need to understand what the technique is before I can make a decision. =p When Kempo says...whatever it was I quoted in my last post, what does he mean by short distances? We're talking inches, right? And is the shaking meant to be some kind of strike or attack, or is it simply to cause a flinch reaction or something?

It's meant to cause some kind of limb seizure, though it's never going to happen, yes there are points along the body that cause reactions through body mechanics, nothing more then a flinch or the hand dropping slightly etc, but it's just purely impractical against a fast striker or a grappler with a vast knowledge of take downs and submissions.
