Alright, Gaia is a huge community for roleplaying, and I know so many people take pride in their characters, and actually bring them to life, so I want to make a roleplay, where your avatars are actually the characters you use!
Now, you don't HAVE to play as your avatar, and if you have a picture of an avatar you would like to use, that would be fine as well. I just thought, it would be fun to do something of the sort.
Also, I thought it would be interesting to make up a story about how Gaia came to be. Instead of using the premade characters, (Ian, Sasha, Liam etc.) A new set of characters will be made, and that's where you come in.
It's just a sketchy idea, but I thought it would be interesting. I love Kotou, and I think she's an interesting character that I made up, but I need help from other people.
Any suggestions?

I think I'm going to start it in a different way. Here's my idea so far.
Gaia, the world as many 'sprites' know it as home, was dying, fading away due to a negative energy. The sprites were starting to fall, and fade into the oblivion connected with their beautiful world. Gaia was the heartbeat of these people.
The simple earth mother, named Gaia as well, knew that her beloved planet was falling and that the energy of her people were fading, also meaning that her life was diminishing. In her brave sacrifice, she gave up her life and energy to the sprites and to the one core which kept Gaia alive...
Gaia gave her life, to another, to be the next watcher of this earth, and if something should happen to this 'heart of Gaia' then the world as everyone knows it will truly die, and take the people along with it.

Gaia seems to be made up of two very important groups, Light vs. Dark. There is a group of people who are neither, and are just followers of their mother earth and stand as guardians and protectors ans sworn soldiers of Gaia, but the others are at a bitter rivalry.
Now here is where I get kind of lost, I have a few ideas, but still sketchy. I'll mark them.
~ Gaia's Dark Side: What is their purpose and what do they have to oppose the light?
~Gaia's Light Side : What is their purpose and what do they have to oppsose the Dark?
~The core of Gaia: Is unknown. No one knows whether it is a person, place or thing, but is still the object of wonder.
~ Those who are neither light or dark: What is their purpose? How do they fend off from both light and dark?

Omigosh, if you make this, please PM me because it seems like a really really good idea. I love the fact that this "core of Gaia" is unknown as to its being - if the story continues, it could end up that it was a person all along, or maybe just a simple object like a Summoning Tome (heheh, got that from the new items).

^^ I'll be sure to do that! I think I'm almost done working out on some of the kinks. I will need a few main leaders of the faction, which I guess will be a first come first serve sort of dealie.
While eating Pizza, I got my inspirations. xD

Alright! I've got the theme worked out, I've got things ready to roll so now, I just have to work on getting the thread figured out. Expect this tomorrow at the latest.

PM me too, this is cool. I also like the idea of roll playing as me...my gaia character! Also there is so much to it, the dark and light side, the core of gaia that could be anything. The only part that kinda confuses me is the part with the sprites...is that who we are? Sorry if it's an obious question I'm not compleatly up to date with sprites...they're a mythical creature right?

I'm think that the dark side will have the drive to take control over the core of Gaia, seeing as it's powerful enough to keep Gaia alive.
The good simply wants to protect Gaia for the fear that Gaia will be destroyed if the dark side takes the core.
The neutral are simply oblivious and are dragged into the middle of the fight between light and dark.
The dark's powers are simply gained through any method possible. Experimentation, incantaions, delving into dark magic, or tricking the light side into think that their on their side so they can get ahold of some of the light's powers. I wouldn't say the light can take back the power either. It'd be too easy to defeat them then.
The light I would give a more limited set, so they can feed more off of teamwork rather than greed. Their powers only come from the core of Gaia, which is bestowed upon those that the core or council of Light believe to be good.
Neutral I would probably only give guns and knives, and the normal use of human weaponery. They're oblivious to this after all.

I think it sounds pretty interesting, especially since I'm looking at my Avatar and wondering how I might possibly not play a Bad Guy biggrin But I was thinking about the whole Neutral thing and thinking they shouldn't just be everyday people with just basic stuff.... If you wanna be neutral that doesn't mean your clueless, just that you don't feel attached to either side!

This seems like a really interesting idea. I know my avatar has a persona all of her own, but I didn't think there'd really ever be an opportunity to roleplay her...
And I really wanted to give my take on the whole light/dark/neutral thing, too... ^u^;;
Seems to me that all 3 groups, knowing how close Gaia came to destruction, might be afraid for the planet in the future too, and it's how they'd react to these fears that separates them.
The Dark side, to me, would believe that the core of Gaia is made of a massive amount of energy, a kind of untapped potential that could be used to change Gaia for the better. Instead of waiting for Gaia to slowly run down again due to the accumulation of negative energy, they believe that by taking control of the core, they will be able to banish the negative energy forever.
The Light side would be directly in contradiction with the Dark side. They believe that the Dark side is completely wrong, and that although there is power in the core of Gaia, if it were ever to be used it should be as a final resort, the last attempt when everything else has failed.
The Neutral side, however, believe that Gaia knew what she was doing when she gave herself to the core - she was not providing a temporary solution, but a lasting cure. They believe that on no account should anyone disturb the core as the power stored there is regulating Gaia and keeping it in balance, both the positive and the negative.
