The Caverns


On the out skirts of a town called Glantry, there is a cave, that no one has dared to enter, for the tales about it secrets are strong enough to scare anyone. One day, a group of adventurers decided to enter it to see what was in the cavern. When they did enter the cavern, the entrance of it had calapsed, and there is only one way to go, deeper. There is only one thing that stands in there way, and the exit... Monsters, that will stop at nothing to kill the intruders.

Rules


1: No god moding.

2: Swearing is allowed, but not too much.

3: You can not make up the environment, it is fully interactive, but only I can make up the environment. The only things that you can add is like rocks, chairs, sticks, and stuff like that.

4: No instant kills/hits/dodging.

5: Do not make you're character uber powerful.

6: OOC must be in ((Insert text here...))

7: Do not kill other characters with out their permission, and mine.

8: Try to be active.

9: Have fun!

10: Try to be literate.

11: Romance is allowed, but no striping. Kissing, and hugging is allowed,
but nothing further.

12: If some one does not post for over two hours their turn is then
skipped, then it goes to the next persons turn. My turn cannot be skipped. You still gain exp from the battle.

13: Delete all of you're OOC posts.

14: Check back here often.

15: I will add more rules if needed.

Appearance: Always wears a white cloak, that falls to the ground, and has gold trim on it. He is 5'10". His hood, is always over his face. He has the perfect body, and face.

Weapon: A white oak staff, with a White gem on top of it. He has a white oak short bow.

Strengths: Can cast magic with ease, quick thinker, quick on his feet, and can light up a room, with the gem on top of his staff.

Weakness: Very low strength, and has poor defense.

History: As a boy he had always wondered to many place, wondering what was where, and always got into trouble. One day when he was adventuring with a friend, they had gotten attacked, and his friend was killed by the monster, he got away with only a few minor scratches. He had felt the guilt of not being able to help his friend he had trained in the art of healing, and he had vowed to help all those that where in need.

Attitude:Always cool, and collective. He never judges anyone, and will heal anyone that is needing it, even if it puts him in harms way. Will be strict when it is needed, but most of the time, he takes whatever life throws at him.

Appearance: At first glance, he appears to be female. His brown eyes are bigHis knee-length brown hair is braided, and a heavy metal ring is braided into the bottom and can be used as a weapon. He wears a brown tunic that ends in the middle of his thigh and is tied with a brown strip of cloth. His brown pants are tucked into the tops of his brown boots.

Weapon: He has two swords strapped onto his back, with one throwing knife tucked into each boot and four throwing knives hidden by the hem of his tunic. These four are held upside down so that he can have easy access to the hilts and quickly throw them.

Strengths: He's good at close up fighting with swords, and he's okay with throwing knives.

Weakness: He's not good against attack magic, or good with any magic.

History: Had an uneventful childhood, but he had no male friends. He's parents wanted him to be more boyish, so they made him learn how to fight with swords, which he enjoys very much.

Attitude: He's happy, kind, sort of shy, always supports his friends and never abandons them.

Strengths: Excellent vision, photographic memory, can Charm others with her magic.

Weakness: Can’t stand heights, loathes and looses focus when others are in her personal space.

History: Artica comes from a family where her two older sisters shine brightest. Both are gifted Magicists, but Artica's magical skills didn't show up until much later. When they did, her parents started paying allot more attention to her, and ignored her sisters. Artica never forgave them, and from a young age, Artica would rather practice with her dagger and boomerang more then hug them. She snuck into a club at the age of 15, but was caught by the club owner. After that she was always let in even though the bouncers knew she was underage because Artica was a great dancer.

Attitude: Sarcastic, flirty, and enjoys taunting others with her magic.

Extra: Roll a D-20. If you get a 5, 10, 15, or 20. you poison the enemy with a dagger attack.

Appearance: Ahren is tall and lanky, though she has lean muscle built from martial arts. Her hair is plain brown and cropped close to her head. Her eyes are hazel-colored and distinctive in a narrow face. Her skin is light but tan from being outside. Ahren has scars, most of which are half-faded from age, on her arms and legs. A long thin scar goes from in front of her right ear down her throat. She wears an undyed sleeveless tunic and long breeches with straw sandals.

Weapon: Hand to hand combat (Basic martial arts), oak quarterstaff, sling with lead bullets

Strengths: Ahren is skilled in hand to hand combat and remains calm and collected under pressure.

Weakness: Though she is muscled, she is not sturdy. Ahren also does not trust anyone, which can cause teamwork problems.

History: Ahren was left as an orphan when her mother died, as she never knew her father. Left in the streets, she made her living begging and stealing for years. She was discovered fighting off another street urchin by a monk who took her to his monastary. Ahren studied and trained in the monastary, where she learned martial arts. However, when raiders attacked the monastary, she killed a man to defend her home. Ahren was forced to leave the monastary in disgrace. Since then, she has wandered across the land, doing odd jobs to earn a living.

Attitude: Ahren does not trust anyone. She is calm and collected, due to her spiritual training at the monastary, and does not lose her focus under stress. She normally follows the law, but is not afraid to go against authority. Ahren is inclined to help people, but she feels no moral obligation. She retains none of her beliefs from her stint as a monk, as she discarded them after her dismissal.

Weakness: Old, has low stamina, and has bad aim with his bow.

History: As a boy he spent most of his time fighting and training with his father. He became a aster swordsman. When he was 27 his town got raided by bandits, and almost everyone got killed. He was the wisest, and youngest person that had survived the raid. Everyone had followed his lead, when finding an open spot near, a cave he had decided to set up the new town here. It took ten years for the town to be built, they had a vote, and he was named king of the town. One day, the town was attacked, he had fought off the bandits this time, and killed them all. After the fight had ended, the bandits ran for the cave, and are hiding there this very day. He had spread rumors about it to keep people away from the cave at all costs. It had worked until this day, when he had heard a group of adventures going into the cave. He decided to go to the group, and stop them at all costs.

Attitude: When it comes to fighting he is serious, but when he is with a group that he likes, he will try to have fun despite his age. When he believes he is right, and everyone else is wrong he will fight them, until they give up, or they can prove him wrong.

His father has died, and now, to become the official Head of the Family of Knoll, Aaron must prove his worth, as his forefathers did before him. He must go out into the world, and may only return to claim his Headship when he has brought back something innovative, useful, and interesting to his homeland. Whether it be knowledge, an artifact or new magic, Aaron must find his Treasure if he ever wishes to return home.

Appearance: Her short brown hair is usually ruffled and unkempt, and constantly in her face (but never in her way). Her brown eyes are exactly like those of her brother, Lexenos. Her prefered style of dress is a midthigh length tight brown dress with brown boots and a brown cloak.

Weapon: Her weapons are a bow and two long daggers tucked into shieths, one on each side of her slender waist.

Strengths: She's a very skilled marksman and hardly ever misses.

Weakness: She puts on a tough act, pretending like she doesn't need help when she really does..

History: She grew up with her brother and decided to take up fighting when he did, but she chose the bow instead of the sword. When her brother left to go traveling, she decided that life was too boring without him. That's what she told everyone, anyway. The truth was that she missed him and she was worried about him. She left home a few days after he did.

Attitude: Tough on the outside, but she really cares on the inside. She really loves her brother and will stop at nothing to help him.

Weapon: Close Range: A double-ended morning star, about the length of a staff.
Long Range: A crossbow with barbed arrows.

Strengths: Sleeps lightly

Weakness: Touch of madness, Poor shot at longer ranges, Clumsy

History: Lyren's father, Darce Troff, was a priest. As was his father before him, and so on several generations. Lyren learned how to read with the Book, and still finds each page and passage as good as the first time through. He noticed his faith in the book seemed to have an effect on any magic he did, so he learned more magic. He picked up the morning-star/staff hybrid from a ransacked churches' vault, and the crossbow was given to him as a gift for his 17th birthday.

Attitude: Slight lunacy, but what's there isn't as bad as it could be. Angered easily. Calm in most other circumstances.

History:Was abandoned as a child and was adopted by a monk and was taught i nthe ways of the paladin. One day while training demons attacked the sanctuary leaving him with a scar on his face and all of his comrades and freinds dead.

Attitude:Laid back sort of but serious when in time of need or when he needs to be, and never really judges people and tries to be kind to everyone.

Skills learned


This is where all the skills, magic, and other stuff that anyone has learned. As you level you will gain a skill. I have all the skills pre-made, but I will not show you them. If you want to know what you're next level skill is then you will have to be active, and level then.

Cure 1: Mp -7 Heals 20 Hp.

Poisona: Mp -10 Remove poison form target ally.

Dual shot: Mp -5 Shoots 2 arrows simultaneously, but can not be used twice in one battle. Each arrow deals 1/4 less damage.

Dexterity's Shot: Mp- 10 Deal full dex+str damage to target.

Taunt: Mp -5 Makes the monster attack him only, for three of the monsters turn

Hyper Slice: Mp -10 Deals 5 extra damage than normal.

Frenzy: Mp -9 You take twice the damage for two turns, but you get two attacks per turn for two posts

Dual attack: You get two strikes at the opponent. When you successfully hit with the second attack, you get a damage bonus. This attack can only be used if you have two weapons.

1 Fire 1, Ice 1, Earth 1: Mp-12 All skills deal 10 more damage than base unless the monster is weak, then it deals double the damage, if it is strong then it deals only half the damage.

Attacking and defending!


To attack: You play out you're attack. So if you where to attack you would say something like this...

Example!: He stood there, with his sword in his hand, and charged at the creature. Jumping up, he slashed at the creature in a diagonal strike, then landed a few feet behind it.

To defend: You must play out how you are defending.

Example!: As the snake lunges at him, he puts up the shield in the path of the snake, in hopes of defending himself from the snake.

Magic:

Damaging: When you cast a magic spell, you must say the name of the spell, and explain how the spell is casted. Magical damage is determined from the Int of a character minus the Res of a monster.

Example!: As he walked towards the monster he waves his arms in a circular motion as he yells out "Fire!". The monster catches fire, and begins to burn.

Healing: To heal a fellow ally, you must say what you are casting, and how you are. It will be just like the damaging form of magic, but no stats are involved only hp.

((I will say if it worked or not depending on how you play out the attack or defense.))

Status Effects.

This is where the status affecting skills will be at, how they work, what they effect, and how to cure... Once you know how to that is...

Poison: Target is poisoned for 5 turns. Every turn they are poisoned, they lose 5 Hp.

Frozen: When you get frozen you can not attack, or move for three turns. Once it wears off you will suffer from a -1 stat point to all stats, for two turns.

Stun: When a stun takes place, the creature can not attack its very next turn. In order to do a stun, you must hit the monster in its weak point, and it needs to be hit with a blunt object.

The town of Glantry.

In the center of town is a giant, white, ivory water fountain, with the towns heroes around it. The one that really stands out is Hatius. He is the town founder, and he has defended the town from many hordes of baddies. Around the water fountain is a walk that leads off into four directions, with square bushes around the empty spaces between the water fountain, and the walk way.

The walk way to the north leads to an Inn, and a potion shop. The Inn has many beds, an Inn keeper, and a small bar. The potion shop has all kinds of potions that can cure almost anything.

The The walk way to the south leads to many small houses, some of the people in here are nice enough to give you some items, while others may try to kill you, or take some of you're money.

The walk way to the east has an armor shop, that is surrounded by trees, and shrubbery. The shop sells all kinds of armor, and accessories. The shop keeper may give you a discount on a few of the items, if you are in desperate need of them.

The walk way to the west leads to a weapon shop. The weapon shop sells, all kinds of weapons, but no staffs, or exotic weapons. The shop is surrounded by trees, that have grown to their full height, and cover the shop,, hiding it.

A figure in a white robe, with gold trim, carrying a white oak staff, and a white oak short bow strapped onto his back walks out from the Inn, and starts walking south towards the fountain, as the sun rises in the east.

He gets to the fountain, he leans on the east side of the fountain, pulls out an apple, and starts to eat it.

"This town is so dull at times. I should go adventuring some time soon." He said, as he just ate his apple.
