Zuri slowly walked around in this new strange land - the Pridelands. Sure, she had known what the land was from the outside, the pride was very large and popular, it was quite often talked about it amongst the outsiders. But she had never wondered what it was actually like inside. The land was a lot larger than she had expected and the territory didn't look to extravagant. The large rocky cliff that she used to look at from a distance still seemed to be a beautiful sight, but other than that, there wasn't too much to look at. Perhaps the people of the Pridelands would be more interesting. Zuri looked around, feeling rather lonely as she played with a shrubby patch of grass with a paw. The scar on her side stung as a tall piece of grass brushed up against it. That hyena certainly left its mark on Zuri. She looked around some more, hoping to find someone new to talk with and familiarize her with the territory.

The small, rather rambunctious, brown and white cub once again was running after some small creature, a habit that probably wouldn't break anytime soon. No matter how many times she was scolded by either of her two loving parents.
Today she was chasing after a rabbit. A brown rabbit. "Mister Rabbit! Come Baaaaaaccccckkkkk!" Tizona called as she ran after it as fast as her short legs could carry her. "I just want to plaaaaayyyyy!" She called as it started to shrink and disappear from her view. Finally she lost all sight of the brown rabbit and slowed to a halt panting rather furiously, her ears laid back against her head. "Awwwww..." She whined pouting and flicking her tail down into the dirt before turning around and walking slowly back to her den.

Zuri's head turned sharply to the direction of the voices. They sounded like the voices a young lioness, apparently chasing after a certain 'Mister Rabbit', which Zuri quickly assumed to be just an ordinary rabbit.
Zuri wandered over to the younger cub, who was walking away.
"Was that your first time trying to hunt for a rabbit?" asked Zuri with a smile. She remembered her first hunting lesson with her mother, where she was taught how to catch a rabbit, or rather, how to chase a rabbit into her mother. It was one of the memories that always made Zuri happy to think about.

Tizona's muscles tensed at the sound of another's voice. She whirled semi-defensively, relaxing only when she saw it was another close to her age, well relatively. "Hunt? I wasn't trying to hunt!" She replied with a frown confused as to why the other thought so. She tilted her head and furrowed her brow before making a funny face and sticking out her tongue
"I was just trying to play a game with Mister Rabbit, but he took off before I could ask." The cub explained before rolling her shoulders back in a shrug. "I'm Tizona! And you are?"

"Zuri," she answered. Zuri was a bit confused about why the cub would want to 'play a game' with a rabbit. A rabbit was food! Well, she supposed it was also a living creature. It had been a while since she had thought of one in that way...appreciated the life of prey.
"So, you live here?" asked Zuri, scanning the lands with her eyes once more. "What do you do in this place anyways? Besides, you know, chasing rabbits."
Zuri remembered another lioness from the Pridelands that she had met when she was just a cub, before she got lost. The lioness, Aurizuri, had told her that she had been in the Pridelands all her life. To Zuri, that must mean there is something appealing about the place to keep one interested in staying there forever.

"Nice ta meet ya Zuri!" She replied enthusiastically. She smiled brightly at the other, her tail flicking behind her in a playful manner. "I live here, I was born here!" She told the other proudly, puffing out her chest ever so slightly.
She had to ponder what exactly she did. "Well, I play with the butterflies and birds, they always fly away though, um....I play with my siblings and the other cubs that my daddy babysits." She wrinkled her nose as she pondered the question. "Um...we eat...um...besides that I really don't do much, you'd have to ask my mommy or daddy what there is to do, they know lots more!"

Zuri couldn't help but smile. The cub's youthfullness was so apparent and adorable. It made Zuri feel comforted and warm, reminding her of when she was a cub. Zuri knew she was still young, but she felt old and mature.
"Well, since 'Mister Rabbit' didn't want to play, maybe I can play a game with you," suggested Zuri, trying to remember the games she played with her brother Nuku. All she really remembered doing was pouncing on each other and wrestling. She didn't want to wrestle with this cub, she didn't want to hurt the young girl. Maybe Tizona could suggest a game. "What games do you play with your siblings?"

Tizona pretended to ponder the other's proposition. She wanted to act all super smart and busy. She then nodded slowly. "Sure! I'd love to play!" Her cheerful exclamation ruined all of that. Of course it didn't really matter all that much to her, she had just made a new friend!
She had to stop and think about what games they played, there was so many! She had a blank expression on her face before she began to list a few games. "We play tag, hide'n'seek, we wrestle and race and and...other stuff too..." Her voice trailed while she tilted her head thinking. "Anyway what do you want to play?"

"Why don't we play, um...hide'n'seek," said Zuri. She knew the game's basics, but hadn't played it in such a long time. She got excited and flicked her tail with a smile. She was just about as excited to play a game as the young cub seemed to be.
"Do you want to hide or seek?" she offered with a grin. As she asked, her eyes darted around, looking for different places that could be used for hiding. The cub probably would know the area better, so Zuri felt she needed to get a head for an advantage.

"That sounds like fun!" She exclaimed nodding her head furiously. She then ran in a circle before stopping and looking back at the older female. "Hmmmmmm....." She tapped her chin with her paw as she debated over seeking or hiding.
She had a look of deep concentration on her face before she exclaimed brightly "I'll go a seeking first!"

"Alright!" said Zuri happily. "I'll go hide, no peeking!"
Zuri darted off to get ready to find a place to hide. She saw a large rock not too far away and ran over to it quickly and hid behind it. She peeked out to see if Tizona had started to look, but then realized that doing so might give away her hiding spot. She made sure her body was completely covered and smiled, hoping she wouldn't be found too soon.

"Okay!"Tizona exclaimed turning her back on the gray female and facing a tree. There she began to count. "One......two.....three.....four....five....six....seven...." And so forth until she reached the number twenty. When she reached the number she called out loudly "Ready or not here I come!" That having been said she turned and bounded off into the direction she thought the other to go.

Zuri hid quietly behind the large rock, doing her best to resist peeking out and seeing where Tizona was. She had to step on her tail to prevent it from wagging around and making it more obvious where she was. She was having a surprising amount of fun considering how old she felt with the cub and how childish she felt the game was. But she missed this part of her childhood, it made her happy to relive it.

Tizona made her way around the area golden eyes darting back and forth trying to spot a bit of gray that didn't quite fit in. Unfortunately she had no such luck yet then out of the corner of her eye she spotted the unnatural gray. Internally squealing she continued in the direction she was going before pouting turning around and making her way towards Zuri.
