If she could do this, it'd be her biggest catch yet. She wanted, no, had to kill it. The yellow lioness hid in the grasses, ducking down and using all of the skills she'd learned so far in life. her green eyes were locked onto a small herd of klipspringers. This would set her apart from everyone in her family- make her the best hunter in the bunch. She looked very adult in her form, showing how much the juvenile loved to hunt. She watched the herd, waiting for someone to show her their weakness... Waiting and watching until one did. An old klip limped about. His hoof was split, but Noyana didn't care what the ailment was, just that there was an ailment. She waited and watched as the foolish beast meandered away from the rest of the group... Just enough.
She lept into motion, staying as low as she could at her top speed. The male realized her approach and panicked, sprinting away from the herd, which had abandoned the old fellow on accident, not realizing he wasn't with them. She was catching up, watching his darting patterns carefully so she, too, could zig-zag through the Pridelands. She got close enough and lunged, landing on the klip's back. His weak foot had not only slowed him, but caused him to collapse, and the juvenile delivered the killing blow.
Coming out of her rage, she realized that she had just brought down a klipspringer, her biggest catch yet! She was about to dine on a meat sweeter than that of a rabbit! She proudly flicked her tail. The chase had brought her out to the borders, but she didn't notice nor care, she was too happy about having brought down a beast that was slightly larger than her!

During the young ones catch, Chakelete just watched with an eagerness in his own eyes. What a youthful and strong spirit- he wanted to cheer for the bright yellow cub as she enjoyed her victory. Before she had pounced the other beast, he had noticed how impressive her form was, and how focused she had remained throughout the whole process. The catch itself was flawless, and he stood in silence before wondering if he should approach her. It reminded him of his first catch when he was younger, and it brought back some wonderful memories for him to remind himself of.
Seeing the cub showed him that he was definitely in a dominant area, with families spread about, so he should be careful. He didn't smell any other creatures in the air, and it didn't seem as though the young ones parents were watching either. That meant that he was probably alright to linger about the area, since he would never wander too far in. He had never spoken to a lion before, only because the few times he had see them were when they were grouped together somehow.
He was intrigued if anything, so he decided to make a simple and easy approach to where the young female was standing.
"That was excellent!" he then said, as he wagged his tail and kept a friendly grin. He still left some space between them, since he didn't want to impose on her catch or anything.

Noyana had been so caught up with what she had just done that she didn't hear the dog's approach. However, upon seening the brown figure approaching, she just beamed. The little lioness was almost glad that someone had seen her catch and kill- she hadn't been expecting any praise for it due to the fact that she doubted she'd make it all the way home with the creature.
"Thank you," She said, still beaming from ear to ear. "If you're hungry, you're more than willing to have some," She said. She was growing more and more willing to share her food than she had been with Sekizen. She could catch and kill quite well, others may not be so blessed. It was her duty to her pride, and even those outside her pride, to share her kills. Honestly, she had a hard time believing that she had just taken down a klipspringer!

Seeing the female's friendliness allowed Chakelete to creep closer to where she was standing. "Thank you for the offer, but I am quite alright. I had a catch of my own this morning, and I am still a bit full." Besides, she should bask and enjoy her triumphant meal! "That really was something though, a tale to be told many times over an over." he then added, sure that she would return to her family and be praised greatly. He almost felt sorry that he was the only one to witness. Though, that meant that he could remember it with her!
Taking a comfortable sitting position, he sniffed at a scent on the air, but then noticed that it wasn't threatening or near.
"So this must be a big area.." he then said, looking back at the female. "Do you live with many other lions?" He was still overwhelmed with the fact that he was talking to a different species, that he decided to learn as much as he could. "What is your name young one? Forgive me for all of my questions, I just arrived to this new area."

Noyana smiled again. "Thank you!" She dug into her meal happily, answering questions in between swallows. She ate as fast as she could, she felt it rude to eat in someone else's presence, even if they didn't want any. It wasn't until the dog asked a question that Noyana realized how far out the chase had taken her. "You, my friend, are sitting just in the Pridelands," She said with a nod. "There are tons of lions around these parts, we're a huge pride. I have 6 other siblings in my litter alone! Yes, we've got lots of members. Most all of us are friendly, though. I've not met anyone mean or violent."
She took another bite, savoring the taste. Somehow, it tasted better than the one's mom caught...
"My name's Noyana. And don't worry, ask away, I'd be more than happy to show you around, if you'd like. After I eat my fill, anyway," She said, taking another bite.

Wow, he had found quite an area! "Thats.. amazing.." he said, as he watched her eat. She had six siblings? He couldn't imagine having so many siblings! But, at her mention of how peaceful it was, that made him feel more comfortable for a moment. "Well, I am thankful that you are so knowledgeable. I was worried for a moment that I had stumbled into a very wrong territory." he then said, with a light chuckle.
"Its nice to meet you Noyana, my names Chakelete." he then said, with a polite nod. "I'd love to be shown around, though you should enjoy that meal while it is fresh. And get a well deserved rest." With another smile, he curled his tail and brought his eyes away from her so he wasn't completely watching her. "A huge Pride, eh?" he then said, a tad quietly. "I haven't had that yet, the urge to settle down. Do you think you will ever travel around one day? I must say, its a great life." Though, being in a pride was probably an enjoyable one as well!

As soon as he mentioned that she should enjoy the meal before doing anything else, Noyana picked up the eating pace. She wanted to show the stranger her home. She ate as quickly as lionly possible, and then cleaned off any blood.
"You probably should see Pride Rock, it's the lump on the horizon over there. When you're close to it, though, you really realize how mammoth it is! You can't even see the top from the base, you can't lift your head up high enough," she told him. She had fallen over backwards once, trying to see it.
"I wouldn't ever leave, not for an extended period of time. Too many friends, lots of family here, too. This is just my home," she shrugged. She wouldn't be as blunt about wandering as she and Tufah had discussed. They thought it was foolish, but perhaps it was a more fitting lifestyle for a wild dog. "Well, let's get started heading out there!" She said, bouncing to her feet.

As she was explaining Pride Rock, he also looked in the direction she was talking about, and he started to get excited to see what it looked like. "I'd love to see that! I don't think I have ever heard of anything like that before, even since I have been to so many places." A giant rock like that could only be seen when searched for, and he was lucky Noyana was kind enough to offer showing him!
"This kind of lifestyle looks like it would be nice." he then said, agreeing with her. "I hope to someday find a pack, but I will be picky until I find the right one." With a light wink, he grinned at her, and moved his body back on its feet at her command that they were leaving. "Sure, I am ready when you are!"
As they started moving, he looked towards Noyama and gleamed. "So, are you one of the older siblings in the family, or one of the more younger ones?" She seemed so mature for her age, so he had given up in trying to determine these things for himself!

"I'm the youngest," she said as they headed towards Pride Rock. She always loved going there, it never ceased to amaze the bright pelted lioness. "It's a great life, there's plenty of food to go around, everyone shares their kills, plenty of water, and lots of cool places to explore. There was this one time," oh, here she went, another tale... "Me and this littler pride member, she couldn't speak yet, she was so young, and my other smaller lion friend, we found this gash in the earth, and at the bottom were all these pink stones, and we almost got stuck but a maned wolf came and knocked a dead tree down so we could get out," Noyana said excitedly. Not one bit of the story was exaggerated. Well, except that the third lion was really a jackal, but Noyana believed she was a lion, as did the jackal herself.

"I would have never guessed you were the youngest." he then said, with a kind grin. "Especially after that hunt I just saw- you are are much more skilled then most out in this world!" Heck, Chakelete knew of some Wild Dogs that could barely chase after a rabbit!
At her cute story, Chakelete quietly listened, and broadened his smile as she finished her tale. "That sounds as if it was very exciting. I wonder what those pink stones were.. were you able to take any?" To go into the earth was not something he had done before, so he was curious as to where she found such a gash in the earth. "Either way, that is good that you were able to find help. To be stuck in something like that.. would just be awful!"
He wondered if he had any interesting tales, and he perked his ears as he thought of one. "The strangest thing I have found, was when I was far off in a dry area, many miles away from here. A strange looking bird started yelling to me, so I curiously followed it. The bird kept on flying, until I stopped myself on a cliff. Underneath the cliff, many feet down, was the largest pit I had ever seen, and it was dark at the bottom! To this day I wonder why that bird tried to lead me there, but now I wonder if pretty stones could have been at the bottom." he sighed and shook his head, but then realized he had ranted as well! "I guess next time I will have to find out."

Noyana beamed as he once again praised her for her hunt. She really enjoyed the hunt, to hear that she was good at it made her happier yet.
"No, sadly, we didn't manage to get any of them," Noyana said. "Didn't think about it. There were skeletons at the bottom of creatures less fortunate than us, beasts that died in the hole."
She listened to the dog's story. "Was it wide across? It sounds wide across," she said before she looked forward. They crested a hill and for the first time since their inward trip, the shapes of Pride Rock were clearly distinguishable. It was visible that it was not one rock, but three massive rocks, each supporting the next. "When we get closer, Chakelete, you'll see that the area's just surrounded by boulders. And those rocks in the main formation are huge! Bigger than ten elephants, each of them," she said. It truly was a sight to behold.

He nodded slightly as she explained about her own situation, and grinned after she finished speaking. "Heh, I guess I am a scavenger like that, always thinking about those things I just like finding stuff." then he paused and listened to her question, before thinking to himself again. "I am sure it was wide, it basically was just.. huge." Giving a light chuckle again, he put his gaze forward and awaited whatever view was coming up.
Before he could process it, he listened to Noyama's talking, and watched the towering rocks that, as they kept moving, continued to raise up to the sky. "In..credible." was all the dog could say, and he gleamed at the upcoming sight, loving every shape and form that the rocks held. "I can't thank you enough for taking me here, I truly am in your dept." As a wanderer, this was his passion, so to find a sight so marvelous truly made his day. "I can't wait to get closer as well."

"No worries!" Noyana said. She made trips to Pride Rock often. It was always a busy, bustling place. Besides, it was a great meeting place since everyone in the Pride knew where it was, and since Tufah could often be spotted there. To Noyana, the formation belonged to Tufah and her family, even though that other bloodline had claimed ownership of it.
"Yes, it's a marvelous place, Pride Rock. If you get to hang around any at all, you should watch the sunset from the very peak, it's unlike anything you'll ever see!" She told him. Sunrises and sunsets were both absolutely gorgeous from the vantage point.

"I just love sunsets.." he then added, reminding himself that he would have to do that sometime. "I will be sure to check that out. Your expertise on the area is helping my journey tremendously. Usually I just wander around until I figure something out myself." That was such a bad habit of his, but it kept him busy for long periods of time!
"So I bet you have had a lot of adventures in this place.. so many memories and stories." He grinned, and turned to the brightly colored female. "It looks like this place keeps you nice and busy, with friends and family around." Ah yes, it was so delightful for him to see personally. He had never witnessed anything like it.

"Oh yes, lots of adventures around here!" Noyana said happily as she walked beside the taller wild dog. "I've never really had a boring day around here. If I'm ever bored, I just get up and meander, I'll bump into someone or something interesting eventually. I can't think of a reason to leave- not for an extended period of time," she added quickly. She respected Chakelete's decision to wander all his days, but that lifestyle just wasn't for her. It was as Tufah and her had discussed; life without a pride, at least for a lion, was a stupid mistake. Strength in numbers, no matter how good you think you are.
At any rate, that was beside the point. There were big rocks coming up ahead! About the right size to climb on, and Noyana wasn't one to let up such a challenge. She knew that these rocks were pretty big, bigger than a wildebeest. She stopped, gained her energy, and sprung towards the rock, using as much momentum as she could to climb it's gritty side. Her claws slipped once during the ascent, but she had made it up alright. It was a better view of the Rock, and of a few nearby trees. Noyana smirked, happy to find entertainment in everything.
