I have been massing around with the idea of play blues for awhile now; you know the Deep South acoustic blues, one guy with an old guitar and a slide. I no nothing of the music and before I start playing it I need to listen to it. Can you guys give me the names of some classic blues artist/songs, Scales, and anything else I might need? Preferable acoustic please.

Honestly, you can find a lot of traditional blues in stuff like Stevie Ray Vaughaun, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Johnny Winter.

osgood_schloter_boi dont forget my man robert cray! (john mayer is pretty sick too!) John Mayer's actually a great guitarist. Didn't see that coming till I saw the Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD. Anyway, buy Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival DVDs. Lots of blues on there.

The pentatonic scale is the most widely used in blues and blue grass music smile i think the type of music you're looking for though is mostly bluegrass.
