Over the course of the next couple of years, I hope to write an essay, if not a whole book, on the subject of otherkin. I will look at it from various angles, including scientific, psychological, and religious. There’s no question I will be critical, but I WILL come out on the side in favor of the existence of otherkin. I am one myself, afterall. This year, I will complete my BA degree, and am doing this paper in conjunction with that.
The thing is, I need your help. Bad.
So, if you want to help me get things out there better, please fill out this survey. The more information you provide, the better the paper is going to turn out. Any information you provide, you agree to let me quote it if need be. Did you hear the term “otherkin” before or after you realized you weren’t human in spirit? After, I felt that I wasn't completely human souled for a while and when I finally got around to researching it I found out its real name.
Please describe your “Awakening.” I really don't know what a true awakening is like but I can tell you how I came about knowing I was a dragon. I used to have dream that I was a dragon, and It was during an age of war in an ice covered world. It was my job to lead my "army" to freeing the dragons inslaved in the ice and destroy the rebel groups. After I started to look up dragon magick I started to meditate and call out to the dragons. It came easily to me despite what people said. The dragons said I was Black scaled. I had a dragon companion who I named mushi with his permision, he was also a black dragon. That how I knew I was truely a dragon.
What are the main things you see as evidence to ‘prove’ that you, personally, are otherkin? Some I just listed above. Sometimes when I'm bored or mad, I make strange noise and my friends will say, you remind me of a baby dragon! (the ones who don't know about otherkin, the ones who do know glance at me and laugh)
Do you know any otherkin living in close vicinity to you? yes. My best friend believes shes a vampire otherkin, and her boyfriend is a werewolf, sounds kinda corney i know, but we do have some evidence in these notions. A guy that i dated believed he was a phenix.
Are there any types of otherkin you believe don’t exist, or are skeptical about? No, I believe that all typed of creature are out there, weather there in someones soul or on a different plane of existence.

Please describe your “Awakening.” it was never a boom i know what i am awakening. like billy i had dreams, i was running threw forests on all fours. i would change between artic wolf, and human form while running. sometimes in my dreams i would be chaseing or play hunting my friends. it was when i started examing my personal behavior, and then later my phisical body did i realize the connection, and the beast within.
What are the main things you see as evidence to ‘prove’ that you, personally, are otherkin? when i hear a wolf, or person howl my skin tingles. i have a strong sense of smell. i am a very fuzzy man lol. i have the exact same warning system a wolf does toward those who threaten my girl friend or tarritory. i watch closely, then i give a verbal warning, then i give some sort of phisical demonstration, normally just pulling my girl friend close to me, then phisical violence. and since i have begun to tap into my wolf form my eyes have gone from a dark brown almost black, the center is forest green, and the outsides are blue.
Do you know any otherkin living in close vicinity to you? i know of a girl who is a friend of mine who is lycan, and another friend mianly over the web who is a panther.
