The sun was shining nicely on the brownish white female leopard ulaya as she lay lazily in the afternoon sun. Of course, she wasn't one that just lounged about all the time, but sometimes it was nice to just relax away from everything else. Of course, it was nice to get away from her brother, and her pack members.
Half of her body covered by an over head tree. Her peridot gem shinning lovely in the light. Making bits of green sparkles on her fur and on the ground. Her eyes half way shut showing a little bit of her icy blue eyes.

Carith would admit she was fleeing, fleeing from that damnably cute kit, Shashi, that her human had saddled her with. Her, a babysitter? Was she mad? Her owner must be, she decided because why would anyone look at her and think she was able or willing to look over a kit?
Shaking her head and licking at her paws to calm herself down, she looked back only once from the direction she had come from, grateful for the opportunity given to her for some precious freedom. While the human cooed over Shashi, she would stretch her legs and get away, feeling the grass beneath her feet while she went wherever she willed.
After about an hour of running, she stopped, not really cognizant of her surroundings but just taking in large gulps of air, her long tail thumping behind her on the ground. Finally taking a look around, her eyes narrowed to see another Ulaya and she stiffened slightly, unused to being around others of her kind.
"Sorry for disturbing you," she said politely, turning her head slightly away, trying to not show her discomfort.

Nicolieus didn't notice the other until she spoke. Her eyes opened and she sat up quickly to see who had spoke. Surprised at what she saw. This ulaya was nothing she had ever seen before. A new type? Slightly frightened, yet not showing it.
"Oh... No. It's fine, your not disturbing anything." She said with a sweet voice. She didn't want to see rude for staring. The other was much like a humans fairy tail dragon. Her tail wrapped around her as she sat up completely.

She hadn't been around others of her kind much but she knew she was different. Her human had told her so and she was torn between being proud of that fact and leery as to what others might think of her. Her tail thumped once in nervousness before she willed it to be still, unwilling to let others know that she wasn't 100% confident. She didn't like appearing weak in front of anyone.
"Oh, good. I didn't realize anyone was here until now. I just sort of was running until I stopped..." Her nose wrinkled slightly as she realized that sounded rather...lame. "Ummm, so my name is Carith. What's yours?" Despite herself, she couldn't help but want to get to know other Ulaya. Shashi was still a baby and didn't count in her book. It might be nice to have a friend.

Nicolieus's fear was gone the moment they started talking. She seemed like a really nice ulaya. She smiled at the other and nodded. "I see, no worries really. I shouldn't have been resting as long as I did anyways." She said with a giggle. "Oh! I'm Nicolieus." She said as she inclined her head. Her name wasn't something that matched her at all.
Seeing how it was a male name. Her attention was fully on the other's face, rather her body. It wasn't polite to stare at others, so she made sure she wasn't going to have wondering eyes. Nicolieus couldn't really say much about being strange, her tail wasn't exactly normal either. Though, she didnt' have wings, or horns.

"Nicolieus....It sounds unique." She smiled, fangs peeping out a bit. She relaxed, posture softening a bit and her tail coming around to curl over her paws, occasionally flicking softly. "Do you come here to nap often?" She admired the shady atmosphere and the coolness of the area, wings swaying in the breeze a bit. She felt unaccountably shy, not used to talking with other Ulaya at all and wondering how to converse naturally. She damned her human's laziness and promised herself to bite her the next time she went home.

She shook her head. "No, I don't normally come here." She said with a smile. She normally just found random places to hide herself from her brother. She had to pick different places each time or he would find her easily. "I don't visit the same resting place twice, unless it's my home." she said with a giggle. Or if the other she ran into wanted her to come back.
Which reminded her about the other Ulaya that had her left ankle bracelet. she looked kind of odd with only one on and one off. She didn't mind too much. Though her brother had a cow when he found out she didn't have it. she'll have to get it back from the ulaya she let keep a hold of it. "You?" She asked. "I mean, do you walk this way often?"

That was odd, wasn't it, to not go to the same places if they were comfortable? But she shrugged slightly. That was the other Ulaya's preference it seemed. "Where is your home? Is it far from here?"
She shook her head at the other's question, her light golden eyes catching the light a bit from overhead. "It's rare for me to come out at all. I usually spend my time at the home of a human who found me, watching over a kitling of our kind." She wrinkled her nose again, just the reminder making her want to snarl. "But I decided I didn't want to stay in today. I felt the need to be free."

"oh? Well, it's not to far from here." She said with a nod. Well, at least the Tehsmex pack wasn't that far from here. She watched the other as she answered her question. "Oh? Not much liking the human or the Kit?" She asked. Though, she really didn't know how humans were. Nor would she get close enough to even see.

She tossed her head a bit, looking proud and a touch arrogant at the question. "There is nothing to like about humans, nothing to hate about them either really. Frankly, I can't be bothered to care about the human one way or another except that she saddles me with the kit. Comes home one day and just drops a box on me." She gave a delicate snort but then shook her head, abashed at how easily she had just ranted in front of someone else.
Giving her a suspicious look, she just had to ask. "Did you use magic or something? Because I don't normally talk this much...to anyone or ever feel like talking in general. The human can't understand me though I can understand her fine and the kit is....too young."

She looked interested. Curiosity about humans had always been there, yet she was too afraid of them to go near. The other was brave, and made Nicolieus respect her even more. She smiled at her. "I see. Well, a kit couldn't be that bad. Once they get old enough, then you'll be a little disappointed that she or he is grown." She said. Or at least that's how she would have been, but everyone's different right?
"Oh? I don't really believe in magic, so no. I don't use it." she said with a smile. "Some times there's just times when you just feel comfortable enough to talk." She shrugged. "Maybe it's the fact that you haven't had anyone to talk to, that makes you want to talk. Sometimes it's good to have others listen, but other times it's good to hear them speak back too." She looked to the ground. It was always hard being alone, or with others who you knew that couldn't understand you. Though, with Nicolieus's brother, she never really had much of a problem with that.
Irritating sometimes, yet if he couldn't understand her, or couldn't talk back, she'd think it would be a little bit more irritating them him understanding her. Even, perhaps lonely. "Don't... You get lonely... Not having someone to talk to?"

"Far as I'm concerned, she can't grow soon enough. All she does is sleep, yawn, roll over and eat. Every once in a while, she'll say something or get active enough to get into mischief and then I have to track her down," she grumbled, looking disgruntled. "I can't smack her around either."
Carith looked interested in Nicolieus' words, ears flicking back and forth as she fell into deep thought. Was this what she had been missing, the ability to have someone listen and understand and speak back with her?She canted her head to one side before nodding slowly, not wanting to seem too eager for company. That just wasn't her way. "Yes....I think so. I didn't really realize it before, having nothing to compare it with but this...this being able to talk with someone, it...it feels nice."

She looked at the other with slight shock. Why would one want to be a little one? Though, she didn't ask. She just simply made her shock go into a nervous giggle. Maybe she was joking, or was just saying it to get a reaction from her?
"Well, once you get to talking more. Then you'll feel a lot better and more natrual." She said with a smile. She wasn't really sure what else to say, having not had a problem like that, though running into another that had never talked to someone before. He, though, seemed a lot more weird then this one here.

Realizing she was probably making the other one nervous with her blunt statements, Carith scratched behind her ear with one claw, dipping her head a bit low. She knew she was different from others, the human said so, lamenting that she didn't seem maternal at all.
"Sorry, my opinions are just that...my opinions. The human says most other Ulaya seem to love having little ones and that maybe I'll love them too if they were my own." She shrugged, her wings fluttering a bit, the ragged ends dangling a bit. "Are other Ulaya like you, easy to talk to?" She sounded a bit hopeful, looking at the pretty light female intently for an answer.

"Oh, yes. I understand. There are many different types. Most do, I guess, like kits. Though, I've seen a few who might not. Though, it's not like it's a bad thing or not." She said with a smile. "Sometimes they aren't ready to take care of another, or as you say, it's not their kid." She smiled again.
"I'm not sure... I've had trouble talking to someone. Though, I guess it was because I was the first ulaya he met, and I kind of shocked him?" She wasn't totally sure what happened in that situation. "But, everyone has their own personality, so you can never really be sure what'll happen."
