They were my favourite band in the past. BG started playing trash/speed metal following the path left by Kill'em all (Metallica) and Helloween.
They created quite an unique sound adding choir to practically all their songs, which usually are based on films, books and games, especially (if not always) fantasy stuff.
As many other bands, they are fans of Tolkien, and thus they sing about Middle Earth alot, even releasing an entire conceptual album based on The Silmarillion: "Nightfall in Middle Earth", their masterpiece.
Germany should be proud of them =)

I love Nightfall in Middle Earth. Great album.
A Twist in the Myth is also very good. Hansi is one AMAZING singer. They're one of my favorite bands.

Krusnik Yoshiki I love Nightfall in Middle-Earth. Haven't heard any of their other CD's though. Wish I had them... I just got "Battalions of Fear", their earlier speed metal album. It is amazing. A Twist in the Myth is also good. You should try to get some more.

I bought their very first album and i thought it was pretty good, granted i bought that when i was starting not to like power metal anymore, so......... redface

Blind Guardian=GOD.
Just an all around amazing band, I feel that no other power metal band can really touch them. I'm in love with Nightfall in Middle Earth, and Imaginations from the other side, both near flawless albums. Might I add, that Hansi vocals are ******** amazing.

Blind Guardian is definitely one of my favourite power metal bands. I saw them live last summer at Tuska, they didn't have any props on the stage, but they still managed to blow me away.
I have to agree with my favourite albums being Nightfall in Middle-Earth, Somewhere Far Beyond and... why am I listing these, I love all of their albums. <3

Wow, no has mentioned A Night at the Opera. Does no one like that album or something? I've heard reviews say it was a bit overwhelming, but I thought it was awesome. Nightfall was good too.
