I'm taking over the battle sub-forum, and among other things, I want everyone to participate. The battle system used will be...
(Murder... MURDER!)
The ORIGINAL Disgaea battle system. (What the hell else would we use!?)
That's right, Disgaea, Hour of Darkness, and all the statistical beauty derived.(Also commonly known as a head-ache.) Naturally, some people won't know how to calculate their stats in the system, so I will be putting up the relative stats for each human and monster class as they become available, as well as describing exactly what to do in order to fight.(Cause hand-holding is currently in style among leader's apparently.) Although naturally the adaptation to forum format will cause some changes, the underlying mechanics will be the same. (By which I mean people will be dieing, like always.)
Ah, perhaps I should explain why I called everyone here though.
I'm allowing people to request "unique" classes before we begin.(Cause I just had to be stupid like that.) I can't guarantee you'll receive one, but all you have to do is list the priority of the basic stats for your class: HP, SP, Atk, Def, Int, Spd, Hit, and Res. (By the way, failure to do this correctly will lead to me laugh maniacally at you.)
Further, I will need to select 3 people who will receive a specific bonus unique class: The Overlord. (This is likely to be the equivalent of n00b bait personally.)
Now, to explain the setting:
In the alternate Netherworld Niflheim, there are four warring factions fighting for control of the incredible Manna Nexuses, located throughout the netherworld. These locations grant incredible potent magicks to those who control them. Each of the three outer factions has set up their capitol on one of the Genni Rifts, Nexuses of the most powerful energies, allowing the greatest magick wielders to even summon powerful demons from other netherworlds. (What, you thought it was going to be kittens and roses? Not here bud.)
Each of you will belong to one of these factions, and play the part of one of the alternate nether world's top demons, warring with both the other two player factions, and the central Daemon faction, in control of the Genus Wake. Should any faction gain control of the two opposing Genni Rifts, or gain control of the Genus Wake, I will declare victory for that faction immediately, having taken control of a sufficient amount of manna energy to literally reshape the world, and we will begin a new cycle. On the other hand, defeat can be called for all factions, under the circumstances that the Daemon faction takes control of any Genni Rift. Under this circumstance, it should become obvious that all the other factions should be fighting the Daemon faction aggressively to prevent them from defeating any of the other factions. (That is, unless you're stupid, in which case feel free to let my minions take "All your Base")
Now to explain how battles will be declared. Each of the overlords chosen will have the task of deciding WHERE to battle, and although this may seem rather small, it is a large tactical problem, and so it should be expected anyone who wants to be an overlord should be at least slightly schooled in tactics. (Not that most players ever seem to understand that listening to their masters is a good idea.)
The map that will be used as the world tactical map, purely for the sake of balance, is this:

Note that this map is PERFECTLY balanced, there's nothing unbalanced for any of the outer factions. (You wanna doubt me on that one? I'm willing to prove my point. By which I mean silence you.)
You'll note different color tones, the various tones represent controlled territory. On the other hand, the Ms marked on some hexes designate Manna Rifts, where any player can be healed, and revived(Assuming their faction controls said rift) or be transmigrated. The squares marked with a T on the other hand allow players to shop, heal, or teleport to either their capitol, or any other square marked with a T. (So it's cliche, shoot me.)
Note that each capitol contains all these functions, in addition to allowing players to directly teleport to any M square, similiar to the T squares. Note that all these options have respective costs, and as such shouldn't be abused too much. (My GOD! A GM trying to bring balance to his game! The horror!)
Now then, when things begin, I'll keep the enemy levels down, out of respect for all player's sanity, but as time goes on, and when we reach the next "cycle" I will be keeping all enemy territories at a relatively high average enemy level. In this case, you can choose to root out rebellious demons within your own territory, you will fight a standard battle within the territory, using it's respective ground, against a number of enemies balanced for the group of players within said territory. This will serve to allow players to gain levels without having to worry about being slaughtered by over-leveled players who have no life. (What's that, why not simply reset everyone's levels each run? That sounds like a wonderful i- Oh, wait, no thanks.)
Some more notes I should make known: I'm going to need helpers, and as such if you think you are good at math, and are able to keep yourself in any conflicts that arise, feel free to apply, you won't receive a crew rank, but you'll be happy with being a helper, right? (Yea, sure, whatever floats your boat.)
So then, any questions? (No seriously, ask away. The worst I can do is rip your soul from your body.)
