Kaioa awoke early in the morning, as she did every morning, just as the suns light was beginning to peak out over the horizon.
being a worshiper of the God of the East, it was a custom for her to face the rising sun, and pay her respect to her God, giving him strength to rise the days light every morning. she had been at the mane Temple for a short time now, and it still felt very odd praying on her own. she was accustom to being surrounded by her fellow worshipers, friends and family she had known all her life, on the familiars surroundings of the east temple.
but she accepted this task, and what it meant for her fellow East worshipers,
striped wings folded delicately on her slender back, the light Maluess sat off of her own in the desert outside the mane Temple, head bowed in respect, ears perked forward as if listening for some distant voice.

Nyota stretched his long form, yawning as the first rays of the rising sun hit his face. He grimaced, rather fond of the idea of sleeping longer, but routine and responsibility fell like weights on his shoulder, and he stood, grumbling. Nyota was not particularly fond of waking up, but he did love the morning and the fresh feel of a new day. After blinking a little, letting his eyes adjust the the morning sun, he made his way over to a nearby creek, and took a long drink.

Satisfied, he turned to make his way to the temple. He needed to pay his respects to his God, who had always blessed him with good fortune. He was after all, the God of Luck and Fortune. As the temple drew in sight, Nyota sighed happily, but was stopped in his tracks. Off to one side, a Malu sat alone. Because of the desert's scarcity around the temple, he was worried that someone was ill. He trotted over quickly, to find that the young female Malu was praying, and now he had disturbed his prayers. He stopped in his tracks, and prayed that she would not notice him. After all, disturbing someone's morning prayer was never considered a good thing.

duel colored eyes opened as she became away are an unfamiliar presence. a politely curious expression on her already soft face as she spotted an earthy colored male starting rather uncomfortable before her.
the colors of the Malu here where something she was starting to enjoy, growing up she always thought Malu where supposed to be clad in purples blues and whites. but soon found a variety of colors and patters from Malu in the mane temple.
letting the silence of there meeting carry of for a moment longer, she blinked her eyes a couple of times, shifting her weight to her front legs as she stood up.
"I am not inconveniencing your morning routine I hope?" she asked, thinking she might be in a location he usually prayed at.

Damn, thought Nyota to himself. The one time his God decides to desert him. Nyota shook his head ruefully, and pawed the ground sheepishly. He was silent for a moment, rather mesmerized by the young Maluess' colors. Her shifting shades of blue and purple were beautiful. After a moment, he realized he was staring, and he chuckled.

"Oh, I'm very sorry. No, I'm afraid I am the one disturbing you. I saw you from a distance and thought that you might be ill. I didn't realize that you were praying. Again, I apologize," he lowered his head and forelegs in a bow.

"May I ask, though," he added curiously, "Who your God or Goddess is? It is . . . rather different to see someone praying outside of the temple."

"ah" she nodded slowly, letting her ears drop back slightly as she relaxed them.
"its quite alright"
she found it a bit odd he thought her prayer made her seem like she was ill, but then again everyone had there own styles. she didn't take offense by it.
he seemed nice anyway, something she was always pleased to see more often, since to her discomfort she had seem a rather disturbing number of cruel Malu at this temple.
"I'm a worshiper of the East" she said with a soft smile, talking about her god always brought her pleasure "and I don't have to be outside, just as long as I am facing the east" she explained. "and what of you? what is your worship?"
the variety of Gods at the temple was another thing that amazed her. it was rare to find two individuals with the same god it seemed

Nyota smiled, and relaxed as she answered that she was a worshiper of the God of the East. The wide variety of Gods that the Malu worshiped never ceased to surprise him. He had never met two Malu that shared the same Deity. As she asked him about his own worship, he relaxed even further. Speaking about his God was something that he always enjoyed. He was very proud to be blessed by his Deity.

He smiled happily as he answered, "Me? Well, I worship the God of Luck and Fortune. I was actually on my way to the temple when I noticed you here." His expression turned sheepish, "I'm afraid I'm not used to seeing many people around here, and when I saw you out here, rather than in the temple, I thought . . ." It seemed so ridiculous now. He wondered what he had been thinking. He glanced toward the temple, wondering if his God had anything to do with this.

Then realizing that he hadn't introduced himself, he looked sheepish yet again and bowed, antlers gently scraping the ground. "I am Nyota, and it is nice to meet you, even though the circumstances were a little different than usual."

she bowed her head as well as he bowed to her, though not as low, her wings fanning out around her as she did so, adding to her the regal effect she portrayed "its an honor" she replied, lifting her own horned head to smiles kindly back at him "my name is Kaioa,"

she took a moment to ponder about his God, wondering what it would be like to worship luck, did good things often happen to him because of it? did it make him a good being?
continuing to smile she folded the wings back against her fur.
"so did you grow up at the Temple Nyota?"

Nyota smiled at her introduction, stuck once again by how lovely this particular Maluess was. "The honor is mine, Kaioa." He chuckled softly at her question and his wings fluttered softly as he replied.

"Yes, I did, though my parents were rather reclusive, so I don't know many Malu yet. I really don't know why my mother and father wanted to remain so alone, perhaps at was for their personal worship, but we did not have many visitors when I was a child. Now that I am grown, I still have yet to meet a great many of our kind."

Nyota smiled over at Kaioa, intrigued. He personally thought that his God has something to do with their meeting, and wondered what it might lead to. After all, most things did not happen by coincidence.
