theHackerBannerSystem?
I've recently received a PM from it saying that I attempted to hack an account when I was only in the marketplace and checking my store.
It wants me to give him/her my username and password or else i'd get banned.
Is this the real thing or am I being scammed?

I found this in a help subforum thingy
If you gave him your password CHANGE IT Dugichan TheHackerBannerSystem If you get a pm from this user do not send them any info . Report the pm and disregard his stupid threats , you were not tagged as a hacker , this is only a scam to gain your password .

It's obviously a scam. Anything that asks for your password is. Like the anouncement thingies are always saying, they won't ask you for it. Report 'em! =D

xXsoDaPopand_riTaLinXx I wouldn't trust it if I were you. Who sent it? the profile name says TheHackerBannerSystem, and when I tried to check its profile, it wasn't viewable to public. That was very suspicious, so I argued that if I was to give any of my info, I gotta see some credentials first! After that, it never replied back. I got scared though, when I received the PM, but looking at it, the name is in black (which means not a mod or npc). Recyclable Raccoon It's obviously a scam. Anything that asks for your password is. Like the anouncement thingies are always saying, they won't ask you for it. Report 'em! =D Yep, I reported the PM! I instantly remembered that no matter what, never give anyone my password, so I figured, along the way, that it's not real. Thankfully, I made the right decision of arguing instead of giving in. But I wondered why I became a target? I was wondering that maybe it's because I registered on June, which meant that I haven't been on gaia that long or because at the time I received the PM, I recently put up my "fresh grass skirt" item for sale in my store, which costs around 125,000 in the marketplace (it was already bought, btw, and I used the money to buy the rest of my sister's and my dream avi's items).

Good girl! xd Meh, who knows. Could be anything. Maybe they figured you'd have more items like that or something. 0.o;;

..that's possible, I mean I just got lucky in getting the fresh grass skirt from one of those random flying giftboxes... i really didn't need it so i put it up in the marketplace and what timing to get a PM accusing me of hacking another account! they wan'ted my usename and password and was reassured that it'll only take 5 minutes to "screen" my account ---yeah right! more like rob me!!
