Companions have always been an integral part of the show. Every Doctor has had their run of lovable companions, and every companion has broken at least one heart by leaving. Even if you've only seen the new series, you know that the companions bring a special and irreplacable aspect to the show.
So. Which companion did you connect with the most? Or, which did you think was the coolest, the bravest, the smartest, the most attractive? In short, which was your favorite, and why?
And everyone has at least one companion that they hated - one that got on their nerves and made them want to kick something. There have been so many different personalities represented, how could there not be? XD So who your least favorite, and why?
Because there is debate over who qualifies as a companion, let's pretend everyone who might possibly, does. Why? Because it's impossible to define. E.g., the Brigadier is sometimes not considered a companion because he never actually traveled in the TARDIS with the Doctor. But if that's what defines a companion then we'd have to count a whole lot of people we'd probably rather not, especially considering the fifth Doctor's habit of taking whole slews of random back-up characters (see Black Orchid and The Visitation, for example).
So while I probably wouldn't count Rose's mom as a companion, I'm willing to give the honor to characters like Sgt. Benton, Kamelion, and Sara Kingdom. (:

Well, I've only been watching the "new" series, but so far Rose is my favorite. She's just so... plucky. And she seemed to actually help once and awhile, rather then just playing damsel-in-distress. biggrin
And I don't hate her mind- but I dislike Martha. She annoys me for some reason. I find her very whiny. neutral

lupine_eyes Well, I've only been watching the "new" series, but so far Rose is my favorite. She's just so... plucky. And she seemed to actually help once and awhile, rather then just playing damsel-in-distress. biggrin And I don't hate her mind- but I dislike Martha. She annoys me for some reason. I find her very whiny. neutral I liked Rose at first, but by the second season she'd really started to annoy me. I dunno, I thought she was getting really self-centered and too clingy. XD I agree about Martha, though. She was sorta a non-character. D: She didn't have much of a personality. I'm hoping Tate will be better. I'm glad they cast her. : D

Rose is one of my favourite comapnions. But I love Adric and Ace too. They were very entertaining to watch.
I love Ace because she was very bold. She loved blowing up stuff with Nitros 9 and stuff. Ace with the Seventh Doctor was just brilliant! xd
My least favourite companion? Um.... *thinks* I don't know! I don't like Martha much, because she is a bit too dependant on The Doctor. She's okay, but whenever he mentions Rose, she gets really moody and stuff. She's way too jealous and fell in love with the Doctor way too quickly. But for the last episodes she was in, she did get a lot better. The Last of the Timelords made me like her alot.

I only started watching Doctor Who around New series 2, so it's a shame I don't know them all that well. But from who I've seen, I'd say Rose would have to be my favourite assistant so far.
I didn't like Martha at all.. not quite sure why, I just don't think her and The Doctor.. matched.

I really agree with lupine_eyes. I really like Rose. I thought Rose was quite pretty even though she wore a little too much mascara. But Martha is not a great character. She's growing on me but I'll never like her as much as Rose. She just doesn't seem to know what she's doing half the time and the fact that she feel in love with the Doctor in the first episode plus got a kiss in the first episode when Rose had to wait a whole series, even if it did make it a lot sweeter, didn't at all help my opinion of her.
My dad absolutely HATES Tate but I thought she was fantastic! I hope she come back. She was hilarious!

I really didn't like Peri at all. She annoyed me a lot. She didn't really act very companion-y in my opinion. I do love Rose, I have to admit, but I have no emotion towards Martha at all. I prefer the 'classic' companions.

I agree with you about the eyeliner, but it did give her a very modern feel, what with most girls having racoon-eyes.

D: I live in America and I only have shitty dorm cable so I definitely don't get any channels DW shows on. Instead, I just download it using Bittorrent or watch it off youtube. Why don't you try one of those?

Too American for me but I sort of liked him. (He looks a bit like Tom Cruise! @.@)

XD I like Captain Jack okay. :B He's not a favorite, but I like him. I liked him a lot in Empty Child/Doctor Dances, and then a little less and less in each episode he's appeared in since. But I still like him, so it's good. XD
