The white masked lioness nearly dropped from exhaustion as she heard the familiar sounds of the spitting monster, as she had called it what seemed like ages ago, but in all actuality was the waterfall they grew up beside. Her unease about being in the jungle’s enclosed space again was suddenly silenced by the rhythm of the fall. This was home, no matter how much she loved the open sky and night, this was home.
She was concerned for her sister, heavy as she was with cubs inside of her, what if Janja hadn’t made the trip here? Such silly fears, of course they had made it home, nothing to fear. Would mother and father search for them here? A voice lashed out quickly in her head that there was no need for fear, they were here. And her sister’s belly was enough proof of their time away and the whole ordeal. And a thing to stay focused on. Did her weight surpass Jedi’s? She was fairly certain it had too, something that brought pleasure to the young lioness when it really shouldn’t have.
She looked forward to seeing the fall which was just a short distance away. It was one of the most extrodinary sounds and wondered what stories Janja's brood would tell.

Janja was quite possibly even more tired than her sister was, which was unusual for despite physical fatigue she generally had a very enthusiastic outlook on almost any venture they made. However, for the very moment, Janja was looking forward to getting back to the waterfall and taking a break- maybe even taking a swim. When the sound of the waterfall finally reached her ears, Janja felt relief and a sudden rush of excitement- they were home.
With the fresh burst of energy, Janja took the lead of the end of their trip, "We're back, we're actually back.." And by themselves- their parents were not around to try to stop them from doing what they wanted, from going where they wanted. The thought of new-found freedom didn't last as she felt an odd but increasingly familiar sensation in her middle.
Well, this time they'd be the ones in charge, at least..

"Thank goodness we're home," she nodded in agreement that they were indeed back. Her smile could do nothing but broaden as Janja took the lead. That was something to be happy for, her worries ebbed away, not without first threatening to come back at a later time. At least she is well, she looks healthy, we've eaten well.
"What do you suggest is the next step?" she questioned her voice quiet enough to be drowned out by the nearing water. I know I want the longest nap on the planet and possibly to go hunting. She took pride in her new ability, one that she knew she was certainly good at.

Janja's ears were turned towards her sister, attentive for anything Jedi might say or do- it was the least she could do for her sister, after how much she'd done for her, making sure she heard anything said. With a small smile, she turned to look her sister in the eyes and offered a sincere smile.
"I don't know about you, but I think resting sounds very nice right now," Janja said, speaking loud enough to assure the water did not drown her out. Her attention turned back to the waterfall and the pool at it's bottom, and without hesitation she walked right up to the water's edge and took a drink.

Rsing sounded good to her, a nice long nap in the warm jungle..or she could go for a swim. Snickering and finding a sudden second wind she ran towards the water and splashed right in. The smell of the water bringing back memories of being little with Kiji and the smell of the earth and the trees..and everything. There was no better place to grow, did Janja think of that when she picked here?
Dripping she giggled in a cublike manner and looked at Janja, her fur mussed up and sticking in every which direction. She hadn't went in very deep but her splash was enough to soak her and Janja.
"I never thought I'd miss here," she paused trying to make it seem less awkward, "I mean, I really liked the open area of the lands."

Janja lifted her head away from the water just in time to avoid getting a whole faceful of water, but not soon enough to avoid the water entirely. She laughed, watching her sister and stepped into the water- momentarily becoming distracted by her rippling reflection. It wasn't very flattering for a pregnant lioness, but she looked back up in surprise when Jedi said she didn't think she'd miss the jungle.
"You don't like the Jungle?" she asked, sounding rather alarmed, "It's where we grew up.."

Jedi thought abou how to explain it, yes the jungle was her home, but the open space of the pride lands was interesting. When she left she told hersef not to dwell on the fact that they may never see these trees again. Avoiding the question for the moment she leaned down and took a sip of water.
Opening her mouth she shut it again, her sister had obviously missed home and Jedi didn't want to come of sounding bad. "When we left, I didn't want to miss home, so I started focusing no the negative, and when we reached the Pride Lands I focused on all he wonderful new things. I suppose I forgot to be home sick?"

Janja watched her sister with wide eyes and a feeling of increasing guilt- if Jedi was not happy here, then it had been even more of a mistake to bring her along. Momentarily, she almost wished she hadn't had to admit to anything and could have just gone off on her own. But the thought of it made her feel even worse, not because she knew it was an ungrateful thing to thing but because she could only imagine how lonely it would be after living her entire life with two sisters and both parents.
Jedi's explanation for why she didn't seem so thrilled surprised Janja. She'd known Jedi had needed a bit of convincing initially, but hadn't expected such a clever plan- especially one that worked so well.
"How clever," she commented, deciding to take the chance to compliment Jedi.

"Thank you, but it was a silly way to go, here is my home, and here is where we will be happy," she replied. Something occured to her, something she wanted to discuss, what exactly would Janja want to name her little ones? Had she been thinking of names?
Jedi stepped from the water slowly making sure not to soak her sister anymore than she initially had. She did not shake her fur out at first but slowly allowed herself to drip dry.
"I wanted to ask...have you thought of names? I mean..erm..?"

"But you didn't know we'd be back so soon," Janja pointed out, smiling sadly for having brought it about, "Or at all, really. I'm sure I would have worked my way back around myself, eventually.. but, maybe not." It was hard to say what the future held, and Janja herself was now proof of that. She sighed and watched Jedi step out of the water and drip dry. When she asked about names, Janja dipped a paw in the water absently and watched the ripples.
"I don't know," she shrugged, "I guess I have a bit. Do you have any suggestions?"

"Well, any cub that comes from his family will be cute enough to just eat right up," she joked, "you should name one something sweet." she liked her little play on words and found it funny enough to go into a fit of giggles. Good enough to eat, hah, sweet things! It wasn't often that Jedi could come up with somethng quick witted, even if it sounded rediculous to Janja it instantly became a classc to Jedi. She shook her head happily allowing some water to escape from her fur.

Janja giggled at the joke Jedi made, even if it was a little strange. She was glad to think of the cubs in terms only of her own family, for that's what they would be- not much importance needed to be placed on the other half.
"Something sweet?" she repeated, and looked over at Jedi, "You think of the right sweet, and that's what we'll name one." Janja was more than happy to let Jedi have a say in the names, it wasn't like someone else would want a chance. She'd hardly put any effort into it herself, but now that it had been brought up, she'd be thinking it through.

Jedi nodded her giggles had subsided, "I'd feel so..so..honored to help you name one. I never thought I'd say this, but I wish Ekevu could have made the journey, I miss her brains... She'd have good names?" she giggled at that and a yawn escaped suddenly.
She had not forgotten about the heat or her own exhaustion so her thoughts had turned for a moment to a place to take a nap, "Will we live here, or are you planning another area of the jungle?" she couldn't come up with any reason not too, and was too silly to think of such things as Kiji and Siku returning to this area.

Janja beamed at Jedi when she agreed to name a cub for her, and the smile became somewhat sad at the mention of Ekevu. Her youngest sister would be full of wonderful name suggestions, she was just as sure of it as Jedi was, and Janja did miss her partner in crime. The only problem was that she was as afraid of confessing what happened to Ekevu as she was to their parents. Telling Jedi had been hard enough.
She was happy to change the subject without getting another word in, and smiled when Jedi asked if they would be staying here, "I think we should, it's a lovely place- and I don't expect to see our parents, returning here just to scold us for going off.." Janja paused, trying to imagine the family leaving the Pridelands without actually meeting up with Siku's mother, without ever meeting Wahabu and whoever else there was there for them to meet. She certainly didn't want that!
"Besides," she murmured, "We're not exactly on the run.."
Well- Janja didn't want to be found quite yet, but keeping on the move and hiding away wasn't what she wanted. And it wasn't what she wanted for her cubs.
"We'll stay here," Janja said finally.

She nodded in agreement to all that Janja said it was impossible for her now to think that Kiji and Siku would be mad, especially from so far away. She thought that Janja sometime woud return to them with her offspring, of course only time would tell.
Jedi could not express in any sort of words to her sister that she would follow her anywhere and she enjoyed doing so, even if it meant death for herself. She'd try her best to protect her family.
"I think it's time for a nap?" she offered she didn't want anymore decision making today, it was time to relax.
