"Vidia! Wait!" A rather haggard looking flutter ran after an energetic tan filly across the open lands. He was smiling and laughing the whole time, but this game had carried them quite far from home.
Completely oblivious to the village that lay up ahead, Vidia continued to run on ahead of her "uncle." The young filly was only roughly a week out of the basket and already moving about like the world was her playground.

Shaking her mane out Peony made her way through the village and out the otherside. Instead of normally spending her days wandering as she normallly did the mare had started sleeping around village. Only wandering far enough move to one of the other patches of dead grass she had made from laying around or to go in search of the food. It seemed for the most part Peony had eaten most of the Pink, red or Purple flowers around.
She was going insane with bored. She didn't feel like wandering far enough away find some thing new to do or explore. Instead she simple wander in the area around the of the Village. Today she went through the village instead of around it, heading into the open she kepf her head low mindless following after a trail of ants.

Vidia was still bounding forward but looking over her shoulder at Nacio who was lagging behind in the back, not even realizing that there was a "stranger" drawing close. She ran into the mare's front legs with a loud, "Ooof," and rebounded back a foot or two on the ground.
Nacio was moving at full speed when he saw she wasn't paying any attention. He skidded to a halt, sliding a bit to the side and leaning his head down to the filly's level. "You okay, kiddo?" He saw her nod and gave a relieved smile before turning his attention to the possibly injured mare. "I'm sorry about that, Miss. My niece can be rather..."
His eyes grew wide when he saw that it was Peony, jaw dropping just a bit before he snapped it shut with a slight click. He wasn't sure what he should say. He had been so busy with the kids that he didn't have much time for himself anymore. And he was still hurt that she had found someone new. That cheeky-fellow, Noir. "Hello, Miss Peony," he said in a rather cold tone.

Glancing down at the foal whom had run into her, Peony tossed her mane lightly. Letting her eyes follow the sound of the oh so familiar voice, Peony sighed softly. Turning away slightly so she could stare out into nothingness of the open field, the mare lowered her head slightly. " Hello Flowe......Nacio" Shutting her eyes, Peony willed herself not to just run off like she had begun to do when any one or anything got to close to her. Releasing a heavy sigh, the mare turned away a bit more as she lifted her front right leg gingerly shaking it. The bandages around it itched endlessly, but atleast the wounds weren't that bad.
A soft sad smile whispered across Peony's lips as she thought of her last run in with oh so called new protecter Noir. They had fought several times since her last run in with Nacio, she had even managed to pull out a tuff of the foul mouthed midget's mane. Which was the reason her foreleg was beaten up the little freak and reared up and tried to stomp down on her leg but she had managed to move in time to escape most of the damages.

The tan filly managed to pick herself up off the ground, quickly hiding under her "uncle." She had run into a stranger. Strangers did weird things around her. But this one seemed really sad. She peeked between Nacio's front legs looking up at him.
Nacio was about to open his mouth to demand what had happened to her when those cyan eyes caught his attention. There was no reason for him to be rude and leave his charge clueless on who this mare was. "Peony, I'd like for you to meet one of Ever and Tawali's daughters. This is Vidia. Vidia," he looked at her with a serious look, "this is Peony. Remember your manners and say hello, kiddo."
She moved a little further out from under him, looking at the injured mare with sad, scared eyes. "H-h-hello, Miss Peony," she stuttered. Her eyes were drawn to the bandage. "Did you get a boo-boo?"

" Hello little Vidia...Yes little one I was in a small fight" Setting her foreleg back down so it was hidden in the tall grass, Peony slowly opened her eyes turning back slightly to look at Vidia. Giving a small unhappy smile, Peony looked over the little foal careful to avoid eye contact with Nacio. " The boo-boo is nothing much just some bruises and scratches from a fight with a vulgar midget and his over sized pride."
Glancing around, Peony snorted she was glad in one way to see Nacio yet in another way she wanted nothing more than to run and hid. "I....Perhaps I should go...It was good to see you again..flow...Nacio" Turning away again, Peony tossed her mane several times. One of her few signs that she was frustated or scared. Glancing around she tried to determine in which direction she wanted to run off in.

Nacio took that moment then to move in front of Peony. "You don't have to go." He looked between her and Vidia. He was still watching over the filly, but this might be the only time he would see her. "We need to talk sometime. How about we go a bit further out, let Vidia play, since she's looking bored," he heard a loud snort from the one he'd mentioned, "and we can talk some."

Peony's eyes softed as she nodded lightly, finally looking at Nacio. "That would be nice" Glancing around, Peony with out thinking leaned closer to Nacio starting to lightly nibble at his mane before quickly pulling away. "sorry"

Vidia bounded on ahead of them, picking her legs up as high as she could. She was playing with imaginary creatures, battling against them and running away. Nacio couldn't help but laugh at the crazy antics of the filly. "It's all right, blossom," he said softly. He stood close to her, taking in a deep breath of her scent.
He had missed her. "I'm sorry I haven't been around. After seeing you with that po-Noir, I got angry. I felt replaced." He wasn't watching her reactions and was keeping his eyes on his charge doe leaping in the grass.

" I'm sorry, Noir had me so convienced that you were to busy to protect me any more... I didn't like the feeling of being so alone, that I agreed to let Noir protect me. Then when I saw you I got mad that you were around but not with me... I was being selfish, it was not your fault." Sighing softly, Peony walked along side Nacio keeping her eyes on the ground as she did. Closing her eyes for a moment she moved slightly closer to Nacio before opening her eyes again." Not long after I first found my two legger, I met a stallion. I think it was love at first state but I was frightened and ran. The next day when I was finally ready to admit what my heart felt he had become unsure was no longer in love he believed....My heart was broken, thats why I was so willing to take you as my protecter...some one to sheild my heart for me"

He stopped moving, just standing there after she mentioned she had been interested in another stallion before him. He looked down at the ground, scuffing a hoof on the ground, "I'm sorry for rushing you with that kiss when we first met. Something just over came me, but I can understand," he said quietly trailing off.
"Unkie Naci! Look at me," said the filly off in the distance. She leapt as high as she could into the air and landing, a bit unstable, on her hooves. Her balance was getting better with each day but she still worried those around her with her careless behavior.

Blushing Peony glanced at Nacio, shaking her head abit. "That kiss was delightful, I think I just expected to much to come with it" Letting her gaze fall over to the little filly, Peony laughed softly. "Such a wild spirit, she'll end up giving some one a hard time"
Laughing softly, carelessly Peony moved foward to watch the little filly. " Do watch what your doing little one. Its better to leap around in the tall grass, more padding if you fall. But here where the grass if between being oh so tall and short, there are lots of bugs to chase around."

He watched her carefully as she moved towards Vidia. She would make a great mother someday, he thought with a smile. "I wanted to see you before Ever gave birth, but with Wild Wind on the prowl I couldn't just leave her on her own." He knew there were no excuses. He could have easily asked Omani'ceta to fly out and give a message for him. He was been so wrapped up in his own world that he had forgotten that he could very well hurt the one he cared about the most.
Vidia tilted her head at Peony and then gave a large smile. Her trust in the pink mare was slowly growing, but of course Uncle Nacio was there to protect her too. "Okay," she shouted and started digging her nose down in the grass, looking to sneak up on unsuspecting bugs.

"It alright, Nacio you had better things to tend to" Letting out a soft sigh, Peony turned to glance at Nacio for a slight moment. Returning her gaze to Vidia the mare smiled softly. " Do be careful with the bugs if you harm to many you'll scare them all off and have nothing to chase" Closing her eyes for a moment, Peony turned sniffing lightly she moved along slowly as she did. Stopping a bit closer to Vidia, Peony leaned her head down looking over the clutch of wildflower she had come to.
"Where is Wild Wind? I haven't heard him trying to bother any poor mares with his I'm winged and better then you speach or have I seen him to pick on you or Ever or steal your place as protector" Shaking her head slightly, Peony leaned down gathers several of the flowers before pulling them from the ground.
