  ((Okay, slightly lame title, but I couldn't think of anything else.)) After several hours travel, both by land and air, Calantha had finally arrived at her destination. She had an hour or so before the would set, so she watched as the waves crashed up onto the beach. It was one of her favorite places to go, having been there a few times as a filly. Slowly she stepped out into the water, until it was up to her knees. She felt completely relaxed and at peace, enjoying the warm breeze and cool water as they flowed over her. But the one down-side to it all, she was completely oblivious to what might be going on around her, unable to hear anything over the crash of the waves.((Not my greatest, but it will do.))

Dustin walked down the beach and flapped his wings a bit. It was nice to feel the satly breeze rustle his feather and blow through his short mane and tail. It had been a while since he had been to the beach and he had decided that today would be a good day to visit again. He stopped and looked out over the waves, taking in a deep breath. It was then that he noticed a figure out in the water.

Calantha was still completely unaware of the stallion. She spread out her wings, enjoying the warm breeze. Slowly she turned around to step out of the water, and saw the strange stallion in the distance. She was somewhat surprised by him being there, but didn't show it. With a few cantering strides she was out of the water, her hooves now covered in sand. She waited for the stranger to come closer, quite curious to see who it was.

He watched as she spread her wings and then turned, coming out of the water. She didn't seem too taken back by his presence there and so he didn't feel too out of place just showing up there. He smiled at her before calling out a greeting. "Hello, I hope I am not bothering you." he said and walked a bit closer.

He seemed friendly enough, she thought. "Hello. Not at all, I enjoy having company." She said with a smile, as she began to walk towards him, so she could see him better. "What brings you out here?" She asked.

He stopped and let her come closer to him. "I just thought I would come back for a visit. It has been a while since I have been to the beach." he said and smiled. Then he caught himself and thought how rude it would be if he did not introduce himself to the beautiful lady before him. "My name is Dustin by the way, what is yours?"

"Nice to meet you Dustin. I am Calantha." She said after stopping a few feet from him. "I am also visiting again. I haven't been here since I was a filly with my mother." She said as she toss her head, enjoying the salty air that whipped around her braided mane.

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well Calantha." he said with a slight bow. He tried to greet each mare he met differently. Just something fun that he did to make a meeting memorable and different. "It would seem that I have been here a lot more recently than you have. It was only a few weeks ago since I was here." he said chucking.

"Oh yes, it has been quite a while, but it still looks the same here." She said as she stretched out her wings, watching him carefully in the slowly dying light. She had learned from her mother, that it never hurt to be cautious.

"That's what I was thinking but it is always nice to revisit a place even if it doesn't change that much." he said and gave her a pleasant smile before looking out over the water and watched the sun begin to set. "Beautiful evening tonight, don't you think?" he asked wanting to get a converstation going.

"Yeah. It is nice to go somewhere that never changes, eveb when everything else around it does." She said, stepping off to one side to allow a crab to scuttle past her. "Yes, it is very beautiful." She said as she watched the crab wearily, before looking back up at the sunset.

"What has changed that I have not noticed?" he asked wondering what she had ment. Maybe there was something here from her childhood that had changed that he wouldn't understand. "I didn't think changed that much since I was here a few weeks ago. Or atleast I haven't noticed. Maybe I should be paying more attention?" he said with a chuckle.

"No it hasn't changed here, except who I am talking too. I mean the rest of the world changes. But the ocean seems uneffected even by the seasons." She said smiling as she watched the sunset. "No fires, no snow, it just stays the same." She added.

"True true. But it does change in a way. The temperature changes!" he said and chuckled. "Bet you haven't thought of it that way. As for it not changing other than who you are talking too, if you wanted me to go I can go." he said wondering if she really did want to talk to him. He wouldn't bother her if she didn't want him too.

"Yes, it does get colder sometimes. But it doesn't get covered in snow and ice." She said turning to look at him again. "No it is quite alright. I don't mind the company, since I have been alone most of the time in my travels." She said with a smile.
