Summary of Article A new guitar came out of Gibson's Guitar Of The Week program, the Reverse Flying V. Of course, it was based on the original Flying V, but it's fins were "flipped". It has a retro styled headstock, a Transamber finish, a period-correct strings-thru-body V tailpiece with eyelets, only one volume control knob, and dual topless ‘57 Classic humbuckers with nickel polepieces. The guitar also has a solid mahogany body, as well as neck with a '50's rounded neck profile (24 3/4" scale length), rosewood fretboard with 22 frets and dot inlays, gold hardware, tune-o-matic bridge, amber "top hat" knobs, green key tuning machines, and 3-way pick up switching. Similar with other instruments in this series, this guitar is a limited edition of 400 guitars. Article: http://www.electric-guitar-review.com/2007/08/07/gibson-announces-guitar-of-the-week-29-reverse-flying-v/ Frankly, I don't like what they did with the Flying V body. It looks like an arrowhead, or a mouse-pointer, but of course, it's Limited Edition-ness will definitely make these babies a collector's item. Personally, I wouldn't buy one.

If I had the money, I'd get it, just to have it, but I really don't like it.

It's a weird looking guitar.I think it looks like:A weapon,a fish,a pointer,an anchor(in a way),a hook, the letter A,or probably the most likely guess an ubside down V LOL well that was just for laughs...or not

They should have just released it as the Flying A. Looking at this guitar, I can imagine a few things that might result from playing it: You will just look weird. You won't sound good. I just can't imagine that shape having a good tone. On a more positive note: You might have some fun throwing it at people.

I bet if you saw a famed guitar virtuoso play it it would be cool.... it's like Hendrix playing the strat backwards. No one expected that to be cool, but fender probably makes a killings selling the backward headed strat. (I believe he also played a V at one point too)

another reason for me to hate gibson...just what they needed.
*it looks ugly *theres hardly any wood by the bridge, thats th most important part, the more wood there the better the tone, that thing will just suck *gibson makes over priced guitars(im not paying 2000 for a guitar with a plastic nut and a rosewood finger board! ive seen small custom shops thatll make a guitar, les paul shaped if you want, thatll be the same price but EXACTLY how you want it.) *poor quality control.
yup. im not buying a Gibson anytime soon...unless its an old one

I don't think it looks too bad. I prefer it the regular way though. If I ever bought one of these I'd probably only play it for a song or two.

Meh I don’t like it but it’s not as odd as the Acoustic flying V and I agree with slaytalera Gibs are overpriced for there quality.
