Trying out an odd little skipping shuffle, Karal yowled his joy to the overcast, dripping sky. Really, who cared if it was wet and the hunting would be harder? He was alive and he meant to enjoy the life he'd been granted. The fact that he was essentially an orphan never bothered the little hyena male. He had, for the most part grown up strong and somewhat whole.

Karal smiled at that thought and reached up a paw to ruefully itch at his torn ear. Really, who knew that the tiny jackals had so much fight in them when it came to a meal? Ah well, that was for the past.

Pausing at a rather nice puddle, Karal yowled again, leaping into the puddle and splashing gleefully.

Purple eyes searched the savanna, the rain poured down upon her pelt, drenching it, making it darker in color than it usually was when dry. Despite the slight annoyance the rain presented, the small female raised her head, her long white mane flopping back, only a few strands remain glued by the humidity to her forehead.

It was a good day; she'd had a meal the previous day, and thus was not entirely desperate for food. This meant she could enjoy the cool weather for once; this in mind, Serkan smirked and jumped forward into a run. Her paws splashed against the puddles as she ran along, her claws digging into the humid earth as she jumped and barked, making a small racket. All was fine after all; she was happy, it was cool, and the sun was not out and bothering her. What was a bit of rain when the world was okay?

Her ears twitched then however, her head slowly turning as she caught glimpse of another body, moving from puddle to puddle. It took her a few moments to recognise the other as a hyena, slightly larger than herself. After a moment's hesitation (after all, she'd been alone for a very long time and the small female was practically craving company; she was a social animal), she ran forward, charging straight for Karal.

when she reached his side, her eyes gleamed, twinkling at him as she rounded up around his form, her maw reaching out to grab hold of his tail, her teeth sinking into the fluff as she carefully tugged at him there. It was a silent invitation for him to join her in a game of catch; this much was clear as the youth let go of the adult, took a few paces back and pressed the top part of her awkward body into the ground, challenging him with a smirk and twinkle of her purple eyes.

Karal paused, startled for a moment by the tug at his tail. He watched the pale female for a moment before grinning happily and crouching down himself, tail swishing back and forth.

"Hi! Hihihihihi!," he chattered, tilting his head as he bunched up the muscles in his hind legs to prepare for a pounce. "Who're you? I'm Karal. You are wanting to play tag, right?"

Karal wasn't used to anyone seekign him out for a game and fervently hoped that this little girl was going to break that streak.

The small female giggled at his chattering, one of her front paws pressing against her own maw to keep her laughter at bay, however as soon as she took her paw away, she winked at him, her head tilting almost coyly. She did not talk however, and did not respond to his questions at first, instead merely backing away from his form as he came nearer.

It was clear she was expecting him to jump forward, and when he did not, she took the chance to do just that herself; she jumped forward, pressed her nose to his and took another step back, the twinkling in her eyes never ceasing, "Bet'cha can't catch me!" the words were chirped under the rain, a teasing growl rumbling through her chest as she finally got up and ran away from him, stopping after a few meters to look back and see if he'd started to give her chase.

"Serkan!" her name was barked back at him as she looked over her shoulder; her white mane was by now so damp, that it was plastered over her head, hiding her eyes slightly from view. She tossed her head back in an attempt to rid herself from the white curtain that was making it difficult to see, then ran off, fully expecting him to give her chase, her barks back at him taunting him further.

Giggling at her boldness with a stranger, Karal sprang forward, paws slipping slightly in the mud.

"Bet'cha I can!" he barked back as he began to give chase. It felt so good to just run and play! He slowed his pace anytime she had to pause to toss her mane from her eyes. After all, it simply wouldn't do to force the game to end too soon. However, though he slowed, he never actually stopped. He fully intended to catch his new friend.

"I'm gonna getchoo, Serkan!" he howled joyfully.

A snort was blown through her nose as Serkan looked over her shoulder, "Nuh-uh!" the word was tossed at him as she ran through the wet grass, splashing from puddle to puddle, her head tossing back with laughter. Was this for real? She found herself asking the question within her mind, but the answer was right before her eyes.

This was as real as it got; she'd never met anyone that would willingly play with her. They all thought her a nuisance, really; she was strong though and she would never allow herself to dwell on it. It struck her as odd that this older, larger male was happily playing with her as if they were cubs, and that he seemed to have no problem with it.

Why?

Her running slowed down to a stop as she turned her head to look at his approaching figure, and she smiled at him, waiting for him to pounce her. She needed to see if he was real, if he was truly there, or if it was a dream; she needed to see if he was truly tangible, "Come and get me then! I dare you!"

Karal kept charging ahead, the rain obscuring his vision just enough to be annoying. Glancing ahead, he frowned slightly. Had Serkan stopped? Why did she stop? Was there a problem?

Then, he heard her teasing words and smiled to himself. No problems, she was just putting a new spin to the game. Well then. He'd play along.

"Think I won't?" he called back laughingly. She still wasn't moving so he put on an extra burst of speed and literally leapt at her, hoping he'd judged distance correctly. With any luck, he'd land close enough to tag her without actually landing on her.

"I'm gonna get yoouuuuuu!"
