Ibura did not care much for the taste of meat, or for the thrill of the hunt, or even trying to participate in the kill. However, she was always more than happy to help out her dearest sister in a hunt- solo hunts were not uncommon, but sometimes Ibura's help was wanted or offered. Ibura was not too bad at helping to corner or distract prey, which she decided was a good thing.
The waterbuck closed in on a small group of hares that were targetted, her angle strategically chosen to lead them to where they were wanted to go. Between her size and her feet, it was not easy for Ibura to remain hidden but she was as careful as she could manage.

Crouching low to the ground, Isi watched from behind a tree as her sister slowly herded the hares in her direction. She knew of Ibura's vegetarian ways, but she couldn't find much problem in getting a little help with the hunt now and again. Of course, she didn't mind fruits now and again, but the craving for meat hit her from time to time and she simply couldn't help herself. Hunting alone was possible, of course. She had done it before. With her sister's help, though, she didn't expend nearly as much energy, and the kill took far less time. In Isi's case, this was an extremely good thing, as her flightly attention span was often too short for a long and drawn out hunting session. Even focusing for this long was a bit difficult, though she seemed to be managing okay. The thought of the meat in her mouth was making it water like a waterfall, and her thoughts were begging to stray to imagining the process of eating. No, no, she had to stay here. She had to hunt.
Slowly, the mildly whacked maned wolf crept foward and into some brush, licking her maw at the sight of one of the smaller hares. They'd be easier to take down, for certain... Although, the plump ones seemed to always move slower. Maybe that would be her aim for the day. Later on, they could go track down some yummy plants for Ibura, but for now she had her own stomach to worry about, and man did that hare look tastey...

Ibura's slinking steps came to a halt very suddenly as she tried to get an idea of where her sister was hiding exactly, but she couldn't tell- and Ibura had to marvel at Isi's very excellent hunting skills! With a small smile, the waterbuck turned her attention back to the hares. Now was the time, she knew she couldn't waste much of it in such an important activity. Go while Isi's attention was certain to be on the task at hand.
Letting out a sudden cry, Ibura jumped from the grass and out towards the hares. Chasing them always seemed to work, though she didn't know the actual reason why. To Ibura, she was simply intimidating and scared them off towards Isi.

With her attention stretched thin, Isi was only moments away from loosing it. Just when it seemed she had no time left, Ibura came crashing from the brush, chasing the little group of hares directly into the maned wolf. Just as the slow, plump one was a leap away, she flung herself out from her hiding place, crashing down on the little rodent. She made the kill quick, as always, knowing well that her sister wasn't exactly fond of the hunting process. The faster and cleaner it was, the better. Or at least, that was what Isi figured. When the dead was done, she picked the limp body up in her mouth and stared at her sister with a sort of dazed look in her eye. For a moment, she wondered where and when they would eat. It took a second to remember that Ibura was a strict vegetarian. Dropping the hare on the ground as if it were nothing, she plopped her bottom down and cocked her head to the side, staring curiously at the malformed wild dog in front of her.
"Guess you don't want any." Her voice was dreamy and somewhat sing songy, her tail swaying lightly to absolutely no music. It just swayed of its own accord. Sometimes, Isi swore that her tail had a life of its own, and would chase it for several moments before getting so dizzy she dropped. Looking around her as if for something to do, she stared at a shrub. "That could be your dinner?" She had yet to get a knack for what Ibura found tastey and what was simply plant life, but guessing never hurt.

Ibura stopped once the hares were forced towards Isi, and then once the wolf had caught her meal, the waterbuck pranced on over to congratulate her and receive whatever praise she could get for being of help. She nuzzled up against Isi when she dropped the hare, and then stood happily beside her.
"Nah, I don't care much for hare," she said brightly when offered some, and looked curiously to the shrub that Isi pointed out to her. It didn't look too bad, not at all!
"Let's see," Ibura said, stepping lightly over to it and sniffing at it carefully. It didn't look like it was occupied, or like it might be too hurt if she were to taste it! Without another thought, Ibura snapped out at the leaves and pulled a mouthful free.

Even though she had already known the response she was going to get, Isi asked if Ibura would like to share the meat everytime. Half of it was for fun, but she also sort of thought that one day her sister would decide to be a normal maned wolf and eat a hare or two. Obvously, today wasn't that day. "Thanks for helping." While the waterbuck-wolf made herself busy with the shrub, Isi dug in. With her dream like state, one might expect her to eat somehwat daintily. Instead, however, she ripped at the meat, chewing a little and then gulping down. It made quite a mess of her paws and muzzle, which she would surely have to wash in a water hole later on. For some reason, everytime she ate this way, she was surprised to find the mess it made. There was never any connection between her habits and the blood. Of course, Isi wasn't what we would call 'sane.' She wasn't completey bonkers, but she was a bit out there.
After eating part of her meal, the maned wolf looked up at her sister, blinking slowly. "Veggies any good here?" If she didn't have the meat in front of her, she'd be tempted to take a taste. Today, though, she had quite the craving for hare, and nothing else would be able to please her. Maybe tomorrow.

Ibura took a loud gulping swallow of the leaves when she was thanked for her help, and shot her sister a smile. She was more than happy to help, even though she didn't care much for the killing or the eating of it herself, she knew it was what Isi liked and needed- and that was enough for her!
"No problem," she murmured brightly, and turned back to the shrub she'd been tasting, "It's not too bad, better than that last one I tried for sure!" With a grin, she took another bite.

"That's good to know." Isi nodded pleasantly and went back to devouring her meal. She made quick work of the rabbit, and soon enough there was nothing left but what the vultures would eat. The maned wolf always made sure to leave her remains out in the open for the scavenging birds, as well as the hyenas. She'd never met a hyena, but she was sure they were plenty nice. After all, a scavenger doesn't kill their own food, and Isi made the connection between not killing and being kind. There for, all scavengers were the sweetest critters out there. Some day, she wanted to meet a hyena. Supposedly, they lived in the elephant grave yard. Another sure sign that they were a gentle species, since they were constantly paying their respects to the dead elephants. Even though the logic was off, it made perfect sense to her.
Flopping on the ground beside what little was left of her meal, the female chewed on air staring at her sister. She did it often, just sat there moving around her jaw. It wasn't that she was bored, it was just something to do. "I want to meet some hyenas. Don't you?" She continued chewing after she spoke, staring somewhat glassy eyed over the waterbuck's shoulder. "They sound so pleasant. Yes?"

Ibura returned the pleasant nod as she chewed through another mouthful of leaves. She decided it was a rather tasty plant they had found, and knew they were quite fortunate to find it- like the last time they'd gotten Isi a meal, the tree she'd tasted then was quite bitter and unappealing. With this in mind, Ibura took a moment to examine an un-nibbled leaf and make note of it's appearance and surrounding area for her own future reference.
Since her own eating habits were much slower and less vicious than Isi's, Ibura was still eating away when asked about hyenas. It was not a new topic for the waterbuck, she already knew her sister's theory on the creatures.
"I suppose so," she agreed, "We'll have to find one to verify the theory, won't we?" Ibura didn't know much about hyenas, but liked the explanation Isi had.

Isi nodded her agreement. This theory of hers was certain to be true, of course, but it'd be nice to have proof. Even though the maned wolf didn't need physical evidence to believe something and she mainly operated on faith, she knew that many critters liked to see things to believe them, and this made her think she needed to find a nice hyena so that the world agreed with her. Even if she didn't know the world. Either way, meeting a hyena was at the top of her to do list. "Yes. Exactly. We need to do that sometime..." She stared hard out at the savannah as if deep in thought. She was, at least somewhat, thinking very intently. Just not about anything particularly important or on topic. She was actually imagining what it would be like to be a hyena, and if life would be more bright. That was just silly, of course, as no critter was happier than she was. At least, in her opinion. She had everything she needed right here: food, Ibura and air.
"Where do they live, I wonder? I've heard that there's a bunch where the elephants go to see their dead." She nodded solemnly and hushed for a few moments in resepct to the deceased elephants. "How do we get there, Ibura?" She turned her gaze on the disfigured wolf expectantly, thinking that her sister would know these things for some unknown reason.

"We could start looking for the next little while," Ibura suggested in a dreamy voice, trying to imagine what kind of hyena they might meet and where. She thought of the elephant graveyard, but wasn't sure that would be such a lovely place to go- it sounded rather gloomy, despite Isi's ramblings about the good and respectful side of such a dwelling.
"I heard that too, but I think it was from you," she commented when Isi asked where to find the elephant graveyard. Ibura didn't have any more idea about how to find it than Isi did, and that was rather disappointing, "We'll have to ask around, I think. It's too bad we scared away all those other hares, they might have known."

The idea of looking for hyenas later on was enough to completely make Isi's day, if it had to be made. She was really an optimistic girl by nature and didn't need much of a boost in her happy levels ever, but this certainly could've helped if she had ever needed it. The mention of the hares made her stare at what was left of her meal with a sort of faraway look in her eyes. Too bad she had killed it so quickly. "I might've asked that one if he wasn't in my belly." She looked down at her stomach as if to ask the rodent if he knew the whereabouts of any hyenas, but didn't actually say anything. Instead, she kept looking from her tummy to the carcass several times. After a few moments she gave up the gazing, as it was making her slightly dizzy to keep moving her eyes back and forth. It was a lost cause anyway. Instead, she stared at the sky with her mouth slightly open, squinting at the sun. Perhaps there were birds nearby that could tell them where the hyenas were.
It didn't take long for Isi to drop her head and stare in the general direction of her sister, a look of shock on her face. "Ibura, where'd you go?! Where is everything?" She stood up fast, wiggling her tail a little as she looked around in all directions. Everywhere there were purple and blue sparklies blocking out the savannah and the waterbuck nearby. Her eyes were tearing a little from staring at the sun, though some of the tears could've very well been from her panicking. "Ibura! Are you there?" She stared out into the nothingness of weedly-deedlies desperately, trying to make out the forms of anything familiar in all of the glittery chaos.

Ibura alternated between looking at Isi and at their surroundings. Her mind tiptoed through the possible ways of meeting hyenas, of who might know where to find them- or the cemetery for the Elephants they so respected. Surely something like a bird would know, you never knew just how far those things could travel! Ibu was willing to bet that some birds knew how to find their way around all of Africa! How lucky birds were, to be able to fly.
Momentarily distracted, she didn't pay much attention to Isi staring into the sun and was terrified when Isi suddenly jumped up and wriggled helplessly looking for her sister and, well, anything else. The waterbuck jumped back herself, looking curiously over at Isi.
"I'm here, what's wrong? Did your eyes stop?" she asked with a blink, then remembered that Isi had been staring at the sky, "W-what were you looking at?"
Was Isi that silly?

"The sky, the sky!" Isi moaned while she jumped around wildly, as if that might help her see again. She howled and yelped as she bumped into the carcass, and then a bit of brush. In her mind, she pictured terrible monsers all around her, even though moments before there had been none. As she jumped around like a crazy, though, the small purple and blue dots she saw were starting to fizzle out. Patches of tan and green were coming through, something Isi had not at all expected. She slowed her jagged movements and came to a stand still, staring off into space with a far away look in her eyes. After a few moments of standing there quietly, her tail began to wag. "I can see, I can see!" She barked happily, until she realized Ibura was not in front of her. "Ibura?!" She whipped around wildly, a look of panic on her face. Of course, the waterbuck was right in front of her now, so she calmed down drastically.
"That was so scary." She shook her head and sighed. "Why'd the sky to that to me?" She sounded as if the sky had done her a personal injustice, as if it had chosen to make her blind for a few moments. "How awful." She sniffled and took a quick glance at the sky, but then looked away.

Ibu did one of the smartest things she could have done, and that was to get out of her sister's way while she flailed wildly over her inability to see. Clearly she'd been staring at the sun, or close enough to it that her eyes were a bit bugged out- the best bet was just to wait it out, and that is exactly what the waterbuck did as she watched her sister slowly stop panicking- until Isi realized that Ibura was no longer standing in the direction she was looking.
She shook her head.
"Isi, you have to be careful if you look at the sky," she explained, "It was the sun, I think. If you look at it too much, it makes your eyes go wonky.."
