(( Note: This counts as Open RP as long as you post 3 times and get at least 500 words written.)) Health class was obviously going to be much different than the other classes. There was no blackboard, just a large whiteboard with a jumble of alphabet magnets. Instead of desks, there was one large low table in the middle of the room with colourful beanbags instead of chairs, and placed around at key points on it were a number of battered old kitten tins filled with markers. The teacher was also markedly different, in manner and appearance: her neatly braided hair was a riotous pink-tangerine colour, and underneath her blouse she wore a pair of bellbottoms with plaid patches on the knees. She also wore more bangles than was possibly physically possible or necessary, and jangled as she walked. Her desk also seemed to consist entirely of a jumble of pens and photographs. "Hurry, hurry!" she cried out to stragglers. "You only have me once a week, we've got loads to do today. Quick! Seats! Move! Go! Don't get anything out your bags, just dump them by the door, please! Excelente!"

Eyes wide at both the room and the teacher, Delilah edged in quietly and set her bag down in the corner with great care. Then she padded over to the table and studied the beanbag chairs for a long moment before choosing a brilliantly purple one that set off her hair color and the pale pink sundress she had opted for that morning. Settled now, she turned her full attention on the teacher, marvelling at so much color and noise.

Health? Why did they need a class about health? It was funny that Riley would wonder that, considering her arm was still locked tight in a cast. She trudged in, looking around the room suspiciously. Her backpack was slung over her left shooulder, but she quickly slid it off without a second thought. Like she wanted to use the stuff that was in there anyway. Still deeming the room strange, though perhaps warming up to the no desks thing, she plopped down onto the nearest beanbag with a small smile.

Manuela was a bit startled by the appearence of the room and the teacher, had she stepped into a daycare room?, but upon seeing Delilah she knew she was in the right place. This was kind of weird, but it was better than a stuffy class. Dropping her bag by the front door she sat down on one of the red beanbags, startled by how it puffed out around her.

He already knew he would hate this class. He would hate it with a passion, Antony thought as he placed his bag to the side and walked in, looking the place over. It looked as if a rainbow had thrown up.
How and WHY was this mandatory? He sighed and walked over to the beanbag next to Delilah, sitting down only to jump slightly as it sunk with his weight. He moved forward, perching on the edge.

Now just another cow in the herded cattle of education, Harper trudged in to the room. His demeanor was not depressed or down, however; he had certainly found ways to entertain himself when he needed now. He turned his hands into talking dinosaurs. He hummed a long to the songs he listened to. He'd doodle on papers.
So he walked in, quite oblivious to the relatively familiar faces surrounding him, listening intensively to the song playing on his mp3 player. He threw his bag on the ground to mimic the other kids and brought himself to the nearest table to sit. "Hey there Delilah~.." he sang out, in a rather mediocre but tune-carrying enough lil' boy voice.

Delilah started at the sound of her name and turned attentively towards the boy who had just entered. Before she could do or say anything, though, another boy appeared behind him and pushed past. Ignacio paused suddenly and spun on his heel. "Harper!" he called. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Riley and noted that there were conveniently enough bags near her. Neatly, he tugged at Harper's sleeve and motioned for him to follow. Then he bounced over and collapsed on the blue beanbag beside Riley. "Hey, there."

In fact, Antony's description was more than apt: the class did look as though a rainbow had thrown up. The woman tapped on the whiteboard merrily.
"My last name is long, unpronounceable and unspellable," she announced, "so you'll be calling me Ms. Lindy. You may or may not know that I'm the school counsellor as well as the health teacher. My office is on the second floor, and I'll probably be at an assembly telling you all about it. You can always pop in and see me and say hi or talk about any issues you have with anything, the school, classes, friends, parents, that's what I'm here for, okay?"
She took one of the markers and scribbled underneath the alphabet letters. Ms. Lindy probably had the only purple whiteboard marker in existence. She wrote in large block letters, POOL SAFETY!. "We have to get our butts in gear. Coach Shade is going to be taking you guys for a swimming class soon so we all have to be prepped for pool safety. Brainstorm! Okay! Whoo! Can anyone tell me what some things are that we do to be safe around a pool?"

Riley didn't seem to notice that most of the other kids seems to sit half a world away from her. Being left out was obviously something she didn't notice. She grinned widely as Iggy took a seat next to her, giving his tail a familiar tug. She then leaned back, shifting herself around so that her legs were crossed and her broken arm was held in the sling across her lap. "This sure beats chairs, hu?"
As the teacher started the lesson she cocked her head, looking a little bored by it already. "Not drown?" she said seriously. Honestly, safty wasn't exactly her best...um...subject. Her arm was a good example of what happened when you followed her reckless methods.

His father hadn't said anything about a trip to the pool! Antony kept his face intentionally blank as he reminded himself to give Shade hell later. He hated looking as if he didn't know.
Reluctantly he raised his hand after Riley asked her question. "Just around it? Or in the pool as well?" he asked innocently, not about to show he was being a smartass.

Manuela had almost started taking notes when Ms. Lindy was talking, then a question was posed. Almost immediately her hand shot up, not having any concept of a Teacher's Pet. "Ms. Lindy," she called, "Ms. Lindy I have one."

"Excellent suggestion, and pretty much most of the point," Ms. Lindy said, and scribbled it up on the board: do not drown! "Can anyone build on this idea? What kind of things can we do to stop us being in a situation where we might drown?"
She beamed at Manuela's waving hand. "Now, you couldn't be anyone but Miss Manuela Ceballos-Escalera, could you? Sí! Sorry, my Spanish is horrible - I'm really impressed at how Manuela put her hand up, guys. That's showing respect. Now, what's your idea?"

Ignacio shrugged. "Don't stay underwater longer than you can hold your breath," he offered. Wriggling, he attempted to find a better position in the chair. Sitting like this, on his tail, was really uncomfortable.

Harper blinked a few times at Iggy; grin spreading across his face when he noted they were both a lot bigger than the last time they met. He followed him, sitting on the other side of Riley with a clunk, while readjusting the lamely hidden ear bugs in his ear.
"Hmm .. mmhmm MMmm mm~..." He hummed, giving his best subtle, hidden wave at Manuela when he saw her while simultaneously giving Antony a bit of a cross glance. Stupid pizza stealer.

Oh, it just kept getting better, Antony thought in disgust as he caught sight of Harper. The annoying one had grown. And obviously STILL had no concept of manners.
