Keeping himself moving in a light run, Chakelete picked his pace up when he felt a rush of energy hit his body. Usually he kept himself moving in a steady motion, but a cool breeze had drifted throughout the day, and it compelled him to move faster then before, and just run for the heck of it!
Being playful like that in nature, it was after a number of minutes until he felt himself finally slow down, and halt for a moments rest. He wondered if there was a small stream to take a break at, and he slowly walked while searching the area out.
There were many smells around him, so he felt confused by where he was going. Its not like he ever had a clear destination set, but he tried to stay focus to find new areas. A number of flowers and plants that were foreign to him were distracting his nose, and he shook his head as he walked, wondering why he was so off, scent wise!

Gzifa had been seperated from her traveling companion. Again. Silly Khima, where had he gone to? For adults, they played a lot of games her mother said were childish. Like hide-and-seek, or tag, or sometimes a mixture of the two.
They'd been playing that jumbled game when Khima had hidden so well Gzifa hadn't been able to find him, even with her nose to the ground. There were a lot of scents tangled up with his. She idly wondered if he knew she was the one seeking and if he wasn't wondering around looking for her.
Maybe she should stay put and wait? How dull...
Aha! Her eyes lit up at the male not far from her. She could talk to him to pass the time. Oh, Gzifa, you're full of great ideas! she thought with a grin and marched over.
"Hi!"

Chakelete spotted the female from a distance, and when he saw her approach him he only smiled at the surprise. He just loved meeting others, and this female seemed friendly enough. Besides, he was pretty much lost anyways, it could have been a good excuse to relax and chat!
It didn't hit him that he was tired until he thought about it, so he was realized that the female had stopped him.
"Hello there!" he then exclaimed with a wagging tail, and he looked at the females coloring closely. Such interesting colors, she really was a sight to admire! "What brings you over to this area? Do you live here or anything?" That was always a question to ask, especially since he was much the opposite of that! Plus, if she did know the area.. maybe she could give him advice on where to go.
"I am a traveler myself, I just made it to this area.." well, barely, at least that's what his mind was telling him!

Gzifa burst into laughter. Not a taunting kind, but one of sheer amusement. She probably shouldn't be surprised that, in being lost, she would find others who were, too. "I could ask you the same thing," she chuckled. "I'm a traveler, too, I have no idea where this is."
That's what made her ventures so fun, the unpredictable ways. If she ever had a set goal, a destination in particular, she was certain the thrill every day presented her with would wither away.
She nodded in understanding. "I just got here, too. Name's Gzifa! Who're you?"

"Gzifa? Nice to meet you, I'm Chakelete!"
Ah well, he may have embarrassed himself a bit for their first greetings, but he was too amused to worry about it. "Another traveler I see? And you are in the same boat as I? I can't tell you how much of a relief that is." Maybe it would have been better to damage his pride and actually get the help of another, but in this case, he could at least just laugh about it and be lost with a new acquaintance!
He turned his attention to the area around them, and sighed while shaking his head. "I really got myself stuck somewhere it seems. Ah well, getting lost usually takes me to some new and interesting areas!" With a light laugh, he brought his eyes back on Gzifa's. "So, does that mean you travel alone, then?" Well if she didn't have a pack, was she like him when it came to searching around?

"I like it!" she chirped. Chakelete. Long and...peppy-sounding. It was times like these Gzifa realized she should probably work on expanding her vocabulary. She smiled brightly at him. "I like meeting other travelers, too." The thought of his earlier question being embarassing never crossed her sometimes naive trail of thinking.
"Alone? Oh, no! Of course not!" Was HE alone? Gzifa was sad for him if he was! It wouldn't be near as fun without, "Khima." How long would it take him to find her? "I'm traveling with my friend, Khima. We've been wandering for a long time now!"

With her eagerness to throw on an 'of course not', Chakelete bent his ears down suddenly and felt pathetic in a sense. Was he strange that he traveled alone? He had never seen it any other way! He had run into a few others who seemed to travel alone, so was it really that bad? It obviously got hard at times, with the loneliness and food rations, but he tried to stay positive through it all. That's what surviving was all about. He loved traveling too much not to do it.
"Where is Khima now?" he then asked, still not getting that maybe the female was lost as well. Or worse, that something could have happened to Gzifa's friend. "You must have known Khima for a long time then! Were you in the same pack or something?" he blinked a few times, since he was always full of questions!

Gzifa didn't seem to notice his sudden distress. It was a bad habbit of hers, and had she known of it, she'd probably have tried to fix it. Even when she was speaking directly to someone, she tended to pay more attention to the surrounding area than the individuals.
"We were playing a hide-and-seek," she admitted shamelessly. Why shouldn't she? Other adults were really missing out! "I haven't been able to find him. I think he might have moved from where he was hiding."
Gzifa had been asked about her and Khima's bond many a time. All of them had assumed what Chakelete was so far. Gzifa shook her head. "Nope, different packs." She cleared her throat and began dramatically,
"It was a dark and stormy night. I had wandered away from my own pack, and was trapped in a cave. The rain outside was so thick I couldn't see a thing outside! Bam! Thunder and lightning everywhere! And, then, suddenly, another wild dog burst into the cave!" It was Khima, of course. "We've been traveling together since then."

Her confession of hide and seek only widened his smile, and he chuckled wondering when the last time he played that was. "Well, hopefully you will find him, or he will find you!" For someone who was used to having another with her, it must have been scary to wander off and be alone. Besides, who knew if Khima was still hiding or something.
He quietly listened to her story, and only stared at her, as if amazed. "That is pretty lucky, to run into a companion like that. Hopefully I will have that luck soon. And.. If you don't mind me asking, why did you both leave your herds?" He was all for the traveling aspect, to but why would the both of them leave behind so much?
"I haven't seen rain in awhile.." he then added, randomly. It seem to follow a drought or something.." with a chuckle, he glanced back at her and gleefully smiled.

"Really lucky," Gzifa agreed with an enthusastic nod. Mom had always told her that 'mystical' stuff--fate, Gods and Goddesses, and other things mostly lions believed in--wasn't true. Gzifa herself wasn't sure, but if she had completely trusted in those ideals, she'd have thanked destiny for sending Khima to her.
And maybe for this, too. "You can come with us if you want!" she offered without hesitation. More the merrier, right? "But we always run into rain, just so you know."
That was another question she'd been asked over and over. Why had they left? Gzifa used to get sad over it, but these days, she just answered it as casually as anything else. "Well, see, me and Khima wanted to go on a short trip. But I had a sister who ran off, once, so she told, 'You can't go anywhere, Gzifa! You'll end up look your sister!'. It really bothered me, because I'm not her. Gzifa is Gzifa. So, me and Khima left anyway."

Her offer made Chakelete smile, and he felt a rush of happiness hit his body. Gzifa was kind for wanting to include him, and he only grinned happily. "That is a very kind offer, maybe some day in the future I will go on a few travels with you both." the thought was incredibly appealing, and he would certainly consider after their meeting. "But for now, it is sort of a personal experience I suppose, for me to travel alone." It was hard to explain, and even Chakelete felt stupid for declining. "Ah well, maybe I am weird?" he smiled at Gzifa, and only laughed to himself again.
Hearing her open up left Chakelete quiet for a moment, and he wondered what that would have felt like. "That's right, you are indeed Gzifa. And, you seem happy with your decision to travel with Khima, so it was worth it, right?" With a positive grin, he pawed at the ground and wagged his tail. It was good to be sure about something, and he could connect on that level.

"Okay!" Gzifa honestly didn't understand how someone could prefer being alone. Friends were so much better of an alternative! Far be it by her to judge those who thought otherwise. "I'm sure we can run into you again. Me and Khima always get seperated." Like right now. In the end, they always met again.
"Without question!" There was a time she had questioned it, but no longer. The decision she'd made had been right. Khima, the adventures, everything else was worth it. "What about you?"

"I'd be honored to run into you again, you have been nothing but kind to me." With his usual smile, he bent his head in a kind way, and turned to look around the area again. "Though I do hope you find your friend soon, hopefully nothing has happened to him.. and what if he is worried and looking for you?" If anything, that would be the only problem with traveling with someone- worrying about their safety constantly. Or at least.. Chakelete would be a spazz in that way, since he always worried too much about someone.
At her question, he only chuckled then lightly. "Maybe I am a fool for traveling alone, I will never truly know. But ah well, it also feels right for me so, that's all that matters." At least they were both sure about things, unlike some others that Chakelete had met before.

"Follow the star that shines brightest in your eyes," Gzifa recited. "Someone really smart told me that once." She scratched her left ear with her back leg and made a face. Hopefully, she hadn't caught any fleas at some point in their ventures.
"Hmm? Oh." Worried? About Khima? She laughed and shook her head. "Nah! I never worry about Khima! I believe in him to always be okay, and to always come back." Another wise individual had told her once it was dangerous to make someone your whole world, and to put all your trust in them, but Gzifa didn't listen to that. She had selective hearing sometimes.

"Well that sounds like it would be the perfect advice. I will have to try that sometime, I feel as though I missed out!" Usually the male just followed any smells that were appealing. "My own way involves following my nose, and let me tell you, I have ended up at some crazy places!" His nose had never failed him adventure wise! "I once followed one scent that I thought was wonderful, and it turned out to be a waterfall on a cliff. That was probably the best place I have seen." With a happy glee, he chuckled at his little ranting.
"Well, as long as he always comes back, then I am sure you will be fine." With a confident nod, he grinned at the female and continued to scoped the area for any signs of her travel partner. Believing in someone was the strongest thing one could do, so he understood completely.
