"Shaji. Home." He stared down at the uncomprehending face of his son, and sighed. His cubs seemed to literally be glued to his side, and by far Shaji was the worse. Never did he want to leave his father's side, even when Ezeoha put in blunt terms that he wanted to be alone for a little while. Of course he didn't tell him the reasons as to why he wanted to be alone. That would be unneccissarily cruel to Shaji. The fact was that even as a father he needed to get away from his children. They made so many demands that at times he couldn't keep up and got overwhelmed. Each of his five cubs wanted something at the same time, and they wanted it /now/. There was no way he could split himself up into five lions to entertain his beloved children. It wasn't in the job description of being a father.

"Please, Shaji, it's time to go home. Play with Aiko or Kuruta." Shaji opened his mouth to protest, but at the look his father gave him he shut it again. He just wanted to please Ezeoha, and in the end that was what coaxed him into leaving. Shaji pouted and made a big deal of it, but eventually he was gone, sauntering off back to the den where he would entertain his other children and hopefully keep them put (Sineri was known to go off without telling him, and he usually found her with that silly boy Tetemeko).

Finally, though, he was alone, his son disappearing into the distance as he adjusted to this new and appreciated feeling. He walked the little distance he needed to a nearby watering hole, choosing this spot mainly because it made for a nice scenery. Hopping on top of a rock he then proceeded to enjoy himself by doing the one thing he was nearly obsessive about... cleaning. It was his paws at first, he taking his time because he couldn't be bothered to go any faster. When he got home he'd get Sineri to help him reach the spots he couldn't. But for now he would enjoy the quiet and do what he could to keep himself well groomed.

Verdad paced in the tall grass. She was used to being alone these days but she inwardly hated it. There was nothing to do but practice her hunting skills. She wasn't even a hunter. She took after cubs and whatnot. She didn't really need the practice anyway but here she was stalking through her home, looking for some tasty morsel to hunt.

There wouldn't be any prey close to her den so the small qyest of hers had brought her farther out than she had hoped. Where else would prey be around here.

The waterhole.

The orange lioness lumbered closer to the pool she knew so well, looking for any sign of movement or scent.

Verdad's hunting skills obviously needed honing, because Ezeoha was only feet away from her... and she did not yet seem to notice him. He let her scent fill his nostrils, a lazy grin slowly creeping onto his face. Oh, he was so glad that he had sent Shaji home... it gave him time to practice his flirting. He didn't intend to do anythng more then that. He had enough cubs right now as it was, and getting 'lucky' could just bring in another five. Being a single father was hard enough as it was. There was no way anyone would convince him to worsen his situation.

His red eyes narrowed, simply observing Verdad's beauty. The orange and blue were so striking next to each other, and her eyes looked so peaceful... but in a way lonely. Well, he could certainly give her some pleasant company. He hoped she was the kind of lioness who would be flattered by his attention... and would accept it. He wasn't sure he wanted to deal with a lioness chewing his head out for using the simplest of pick-up lines on her. It had happened before, numerous times, and it was not pleasant.

"Hello beautiful, are you thirsty for a little company and conversation?" Oh, he was so rusty! Well, with Verdad he would be able to fine-tune his skills. Jumping down from the rock he had been so recently been perched on, he approached Verdad, his movements slower then usual to emphasize his perfect pretty boy body.

Verdad searched around, dipping lower into the grass as she stalked around. No. She wasn't the best hunter in the pride but she had to learn at some point in time. Right? What if the unthinkable happened and she was suddenly thrown out or something? She would have any means to provide for herself unless she scavenged but a petite, dependent lioness would have nothing on a hyena or even vultures for that matter. Ver was definitely not a loner in any way.

Her tail swept along the dirt as she continued, unaware or her obvious mistakes. It had been quite awhile since she actually tried hunting so it wasn't as if she knew her mistakes anyway. Tia had pampered her way too much to teach her baby girl that.

With her mind so focused on hunting she didn't react to the familiar smell around her until his voice sounded.

The orange lioness jumped up, hackles raised. She wasn't trying to tell him off, he had just frightened her. "Company?..." Verdad calmed herself, taking long, deep breaths until her fur laid smooth again. "I guess I wouldn't mind some."

Amused, he smiled at the concentration that had overtaken the orange lioness. She seemed focused on what she considered 'hunting' or 'stalking'... or whatever it was that she was doing. Ezeoha wasn't quite sure what it was, though, but it hinted at the possibility of a hunt. Well... if that was the case, she wasn't too poor of a hunter. She needed some fine-tuning, and Ezeoha could certainly help her with that if she wanted it. Helping her would only allow him to stay in her presence longer, and maybe, just maybe get lucky. The chase was always fun, but it was the end that he was in it for. He already had quite a few cubs, nine or so, but such encounters like this did not have to end up that way. In fact, he'd rather it didn't. With the amount of cubs he had now, he'd like to wait until they were older before he started making more. He was always in the mood to flirt, and if nothing more came of it he was fine. Verdad, though a poor hunter in his opinion, was certainly deserving of all the lovely little comments that was filling his head.

He couldn't help but laugh at her surprise, his voice rich and creamy smooth, shoulders shaking slightly with the intensity of his amusement. Laughing wasn't exactly the best way to get in with the ladies, but at this point he really could do nothing about it. She had amused him, and thus she deserved the laughter he had given her. At least he knew, whether he was accepted or denied, he was going to have one great time with the gorgeous orange lioness. At the end of the day, he would consider that good enough. He stretched just then, showing off the muscles that were hidden underneath his thick gold fur.

"I am glad. The day was perfectly bland before you showed up and brightened it with your beauty. I'm in dire need of some company as gorgeous as you are." The words were casual in themselves, but it was quite obvious that he was pinging compliments at her contantly in hopes that she would respond positively to his advances.
