The winds of change were upon them, and had Palesa been there right now, Kikore knew she would be swept away by the light breeze that tickled across his nose. It had been that way the past few weeks, their travels filled with a soft whisper that almost made him swear his mother was by his side. But with one second glance, he really understood it wasn't the pale lioness, but a royal blue one with lavender highlights that took his breath away, a goddess amongst mortals.
Blushing, he lowered his head a bit to try and hide his stare, hoping Kilango wouldn't catch sight of it as he checked every few seconds out of the corner of his eye. Since her 'declairation' of their future together, he felt antsy and embarrased whenever she was around, like a young cub meeting his first crush. And now that they had left his mother and sister, he was at a loss as to what to do with himself, no longer able to keep by his mother's side. Taking a deep breath that puffed out his cheeks, he released it with a sort of pop before looking ahead.
"Is that...?" Snapping to attention at last, he broke the silence with awe crossing his amber eyes, "Pride Rock!"
The royal blue lioness trailed slowly behind the male, her red eyes keeping a close watch on him. She grew tired from the trip, but it was totally worth it. She was now more eager to visit her father and brother more than ever. She missed them dearly, and wanted to apologize to them for all the trouble she had originally caused. She felt bad enough for doing all of it in the first place. Traveling back from the Sea pride was a hard decision. Kilango had to find the courage to revisit her family, instead of hiding away in the darkness in some faraway pride, on literally the other side of the land. There was a lump in her throat as her view turned towards Kikore, as he spoke with excitement. She looked up and spotted the familiar rock once more. "We've finally made it back, Kikore ... i'm so happy."
She padded up beside the large green male and smiled his way. She had other thoughts on her mind, though.
He missed the tone she spoke of as he took it all in himself, his eyes dancing off the seemingly small rock in the distance. His eyes trailed back down to eye the swaying grasses and the game that fed around them. All in all, it was almost a dream being back in his origional home, and he couldn't hold back the excited shiver that danced down his spine as he grinned back towards Kilango.
"I never thought I would be, but after traveling for so long and being gone for most of my life...it is good to be back...I wonder if all my old friends will reconize me. I never had a mane when I left!" His laughter spread out before he quickly sombered out and he glanced towards Kilango, "But your family is still here right?" It was a bit tentative, and he didn't want to hit a soar spot. Though in his mind, he knew it best she go see them first.
Although she was happy to be home once more, she did not exactly feel the same way Kikore did. She still was afraid to hear their reactions. She tried to keep a smile, but instead she looked down, a sad look in her eyes.
"Kikore ... what if they left? What if they hate me ...?" She had many things racing through her mind on her family, which worried her the most.
"I ... just. I don't want to see them just yet. If they are even still in these lands. Why don't we just walk around, and see if anything has changed? How about view the lands as we know them?" She tried to change the subject, because she didn't want to think about her family right now. Instead, she wanted to think of her own. She leaned over onto the male, sighing. Kilango rubbed her head in his large, fluffy mane.
Looking silently at her as she asked all the questions, he let her go on and get it all out of her system. It really was what she needed, to let it out as he listened softly and lent a shoulder. In all truths, if in her paws he was sure he would have the same if not more of her worries, but at the same time, they were together wern't they.
"It's best to not think about it at all, to not assume anything or worry. Though that doesn't mean avoid it...but when you are ready, I'll be right beside you every step of the way." As he finished up, he moved close and gave her more fluff and warmth to bathe in if she so wished it, and his amber eyes looked out ahead.
"I always wanted to see the outer landmarks as a youth...maybe we could check those out and work our way in if we want to..." silently, he added the idea that they could make a den near one of the rivers and wait it out without so much as being spotted. It would be relaxing without worry of the whole pride moving about them.

Kilango folded her ears back as she thought more. Even though she wanted to see her family, she figured it would be best to avoid everything right now. She looked up to view Kikore and then let out a faint smile once more.
"I know but, I don't think i'm quite ready yet ... I don't need to rush things." As he offered guidance, her smile grew. The lioness nodded in agreement as Kikore moved on in subject. The outer landmarks seemed to be a place to start. Not many tread about in the outer part of the pride. Most stayed deep inside of its borders, in the heart of the lands.
"It would also be nice to meet the King and Queen once more. I haven't seen Mufasa since I was a cub. Though, if you wish to hide for a while, i'm more than willing to well, stay around here. I also am afraid of the pride coming in on us."
He returned her smile softly before nudging her to continue on, more inclined to walk as a new sense of energy boosted his system. He kept silent for a minute or two, taking in the feel of the sharp grassblades brushing against and through his toes with each step.
After he took in that sense, he turned his eyes to Kilango once more, "I've got nothing much to hide from anymore, so we can go today or in a few years, no matter how long it takes, I'm not picky - though, it might be better to meet the royals and let them know we are here...just incase someone does come across us while we are here."

"Well, then. Lets find us a nice den to settle in temporarily. Once I decide to seek out my family, then we can worry about where we plan to go." She padded forward, though confused at the sights. She looked back at Kikore'ruia with a puzzled look, almost as if asking him to lead the way.
She had no clue where she was, except for where pride rock was. She felt somewhat stupid because of this, but her memories of the Pridelands were rather clouded, and things she truely didn't want to even remember in the first place.
After all, she did hurt her only brother, cause trouble and then leave the lands like nothing ever happened. It was something she really ... wanted to forget.
Missing her confused look, Kikore merely padded along following his instincts, not too sure either. In fact, had he known Kilango was thinking pretty much the same thing about their sense of direction, he probably would have just sat down there and declared it home. But instead, he simply wanted to follow his nose, and try and touch with his earlier teachings.
"Letsee...tall grass means more water..." It was mumbled out as a deep look of concentration crossed his forehead, his eyes darting around while he grumbled about. Really it wasn't that big of a deal, but as he looked over to the female beside him, his thoughts changed and he eyed her closely, "So...I really don't know what to say...this is my home but the sea was almost perfect as well, which...did you like better?" He asked a bit akwardly, eyes darting away with embarrassment at the effort to speak with her.

Kilango tried to smile, but she really did miss the sea. Being there half of her life had changed hers. The sweet smell of low tide, and the sea salt flying through the air when the waves hit the sandy beach. It was like a paradise to her. She turned to look at Kikore and then lied. "Well, I guess I did miss the Pridelands ..." She didn't want to upset the male. She didn't remember much about these lands, anyways.
"So, where should our den be?" She questioned, placing the other conversation aside.

He paused in his musing to look over towards her, smiling lightly again before looking back onto the task at hand. Her question was soft and inviting, and he decided to take it up with his own conversational tone, all the while strolling at an even pace and sniffing at all the new scents in the air.
"I heard about the rivers that bless these lands, and was thinking maybe we could find a good spot nearby one?" Looking back, he trailed off with a slow question, ears flattening as he waited to see her response.

"I love the water. Its nothing like the sea ... but, a river will do. Then I can go to it everyday." She smiled warmly, agreeing with his question. "Anyways, I don't care where the den is. Water is nice, though. You can choose where the den shall be." And honestly, she didn't care. She had other things on her mind. Still recalling past memories of her family. Was her mother still in the pridelands? She didn't have any visions recently, but she had this feeling in the pit of her stomach.
"... I wonder if my mother is still here." She mumbled, looking at the ground and mindlessly trailing behind Kikore, heavy in thought.

Up ahead, his ear flickered softly as his eyes lowered, for a long moment a frown marring his pale features. It was a bit hard, dealing with the memories of the past when normally the lioness was bright and cheerful. Even he would take the smart, abit evil girl over how sad Kilango was now.
And the worst part was he didn't really know or understand what to do.
So, he just padded on in silence, looking around as the air turned a bit moist and the sound of running water filled the silence. Finally, with one last step over a small hill, he paused to look out, a large river meeting his gaze. Rocks littered the water, creating rapids and movement as it showed how fast the river was going. A good pace in the male's opinion, for while it moved, it wasn't going too fast and seemed shallow enough for walking through. Though deep enough for a swim if one went far enough in.
"Looks like this is it..." He said softly, breaking the silence.

She forgot about what she was thinking about as she lept over to Kikore's side with curiosity. "Really? You found a home for us?" She widened her eyes and looked around with excitement. "Awesome! How about we go check out the den ..." She darted past the male and then over to the riverside. Smiling, she placed a paw in it and she recalled the time spent at the Sea Pride. The feel of the flowing water going between her paw pads made her very calm. She folded her ears back and then slowly trailed into the river all the way. Anyways, she needed a bath!
"Kikore, why don't you come in? The water feels great!" After a quick bath, she would then investigate the den they found. She wanted to make sure it was perfect.

Following after her with his eyes, he glanced around and caught sight of the rock formation on the edge of the other hill. They were somewhat close to the dens, so it was little surprise to actually find one close. Glancing back to where Kilango headed, he let his mirth show at the sight of her already being in the waters.
Padding down to the edge, he looked down to the flowing liquid before padding in with a few sloshes. Flickering his paws to cause a spray, he had to admit that it did feel good to have the cool waters flow through his pelt. Jumping deeper, a wave flowed around until the river brushed his belly, and he let out a peaceful sigh.

She smiled as he came in as well. Though, grinning, she fled past him, and over to take a peek into the den. "Kikore, i'll check it out. I'm sure its a good one!" She excitingly darted in, to see it all. As she walked in, she saw the beauty of the walls, and the large den was actually quite nice, in the end. Maybe they'd stay here, and keep away from the family for now?
It was a nice place to hide out from the relatives. And anyways, Kilango had no plans of seeing them until she had a reason to, and for the moment, she did not have a reason. She purred with a smile, and peeked her head back out at her mate. "Kikore, you should come in here and check this one out! Its beautiful!"

Doused by the paw splashes she sent while she passed, he shook his mane a moment as the white strings turned translucent, and moved to go with her. Pausing when she called out, he turned around and looked out across the path, over the river and through the distance with amazement.
Turning suddenly, he glanced back as she called before padding in, water still dripping from his mane and belly while he scouted with a keen eye and settled next to her.
"..." blinking, he wondered how she saw beauty, when all he saw was walls and stone, and he coughed a moment later, "...right...beautiful..." But still he moved closer and rubbed his shoulder against hers, "It feels like home..."

Kilango frowned and turned to the green male. "... do you not like it?" She looked around at the walls once more, and looked into his eyes again. "I see nothing wrong with it. We can always decorate later. It doesn't have to be pretty." She went deeper into the den to investigate further, smelling the corners, trying to find out if something still lived in these quarters.
"It does feel like home. ... I wish I could go home, but ... I really don't want to speak with my father and mother just yet."

"It's fine," He murmured softly, grinning slightly at her reaction to his statement, "I just don't really see much beauty I guess...my mother is beautiful, especially her words...and you are beautiful..." He trailed off a moment, "But the den...well, it's just a den." With that he let out a chuckle before standing and stretching, "And the only beautiful thing about it is that you are here...I guess..."
Feeling heat rush to his cheeks, he distracted himself and hopefully her by moving quickly on, "How about we worry about family later and rest now...now that we have our own home?"

"That seems reasonable." She slanted her eyes and purred as she walked past Kikore, rubbing her side against his. She walked to the corner, and then sat herself down. "Fair enough, we can rest. Anyways, i'm ... very tired. Want to join me at this spot?" She smiled, and slid over so that there was enough room for him.
"You know, it doesn't hurt to talk about those kinds of things ... ... family. I mean, you never know. Something could happen eventually." She still kept a smile, though confused at why Kikore didn't want to really talk about having a family. It was common for couples to do that, and well ... even she was rather excited for having a family, some day.

He kept silent as he moved to her side, taking the invitation and settling down with ease. It was a wonder how, only months before he was the stuttering fool around her, and now their relationship had grown. He still had a hard time accepting and speaking out as easy as she, but it was getting their.
They were friends, close friends, and deep down he knew soon they would be mates, but for now he enjoyed the slow pace they moved at, feeling it heartfelt and true. Kilango was all he had in his homelands, but soon there would be more.
"I'm too tired to talk..." And with that, he flopped his head to his paws, amber eyes looking softly up to her while a yawn racked his form. Before long, he closed those liquid eyes and settled down, listening to everything while his body relaxed.
