Locke is really a very light person. He's almost perpetually clueless, but that's what makes him completely lovable. He's sweet and welcoming.

Akio is, quite overall, evil. Of course, it's in his nature as an Oni. Sometimes he can't help being a little cruel when he needs to feed off of positive energy to survive. There is a reason Carian appears to be heartbroken. He fell deeply in love with a human when down on earth at one point who died soon after. The experience made him reclusive and seemingly unfeeling. His light is usually dimmer than that of most Starkin. Still, it's possible to get away from anything.

Estoile - It's probably save to say Carian is in love with the younger Starkin, even if this wounds him more than it recovers him.
