Im sure that alot of people must read here in the guild! For me, reading is one of my favourite past times. :3 It helps me to get my mind off things and just get absorbed in an alternate universe of some sort. ;3
Discussion Ideas: - Types of books you like to read? [Fantasy, Romance.. etc,] - Books you've read or want to read. - Bookclubs? - Books you've seen that are becoming movies. - Or any other random conversations that may pop up. ;3
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
;3 Thought Id make a thread out there for all our SasuSaku readers out there. [Besides fanfiction, although we know how great that is. D:]
I, myself, am I big fan of fantasy and romance. I've read books like:
. His Dark Materials Trilogy. [Is that the name? Dx; I havent read that in a long time. But I can't help but point out that its first book, 'The Golden Compass' Is coming to theatres in DECEMBER!?]
. Eragon / Eldest. [I am a BIGGG fan of this trilogy. And Im DYING for the third book to come out. Dx Christopher better hurry up.]
. Shopaholic Series! [Another book Im a big fan of. But I havent got a chance to read her latest one, Shopaholic & Baby. D:]
. Can You Keep A Secret? [This book is by the same other of Shopaholic, its I find it just as good.]
. Pendragon Series. [Im also a big fan of this as well. ;3 I only have up the the sixth book, but I know it goes up to seven or eight, is it? ;/]
. The Dragon Throne Trilogy. [;D I recently just got into this one. Seeing as I got bored waiting for some Dragon action in the third book from the Inheritance Trilogy, I picked up these three and I love them as well.]
So what about you all? Im sure you must read some good books as well.

I happen to like Romance with a nice splash of Horror in it X3.
The suspense is just WOW.
I also happen to like fantasy in it, but these days, Romance seems to be in my top 5 genres...which never happened before ninja
Though I haven't read this book yet I highly recommend
-Twilight.- (it has Vampires and ROMANCE in it!! biggrin me love it already even if i've never read it)
-The Forbidden Game.- (It has a girl in it that plays a game in it sold to her by a SUBER-UBER hot guy with her friends. And then, they get stuck in the game, and then the guy who sold it to her appears to her and says he loves her but she of course already has a bf that she loves >< and so she doesn't tlike him because it was him who got them in the game. So to know the ending you have to get the book biggrin it's trilogy though ><)
-Eragon.-
(I'm ending my post here since i'm still so tired ><

I like anything that'll inspire me to write.
My favorite book happens to be Memoirs Of A Geisha.
Otherwise, I like reading about supernatural things, and the occasional teeny-bopper romance, or maybe adult-ish romantic comedies. I also like parodies and fairy tales (the untarnished, original Grimm Brothers ones).
Anyone like those horrifying fairy tales, like the original Sleeping Beauty or the original Cinderella?

I LOVE Can You Keep a Secret? The Undomestic Goddess is pretty entertaining too. <3
Twilight was an AMAZING book. I haven't gotten the chance to read the next volume New Moon, but Book 3: Eclipse is out tomorrow so I'm excited. EDIT I just finished reading both books, and WOW. [Opinion Of The Book D=]
Stephanie Meyers went a little too crazy on Eclipse. So much that I was ready to quit reading. Readers be warned: Eclipse isn't all that great. :
I'm really into Meg Cabot's stuff too. I find her style of writing to be very... refreshing, I suppose. I love Every Boy's Got One.
When I was younger, I used to be really into Tamora Pierce's work. Not so much anymore, but it's fun re-reading her books.
I LOVE Blood and Chocolate. I was pretty disappointed about the movie though. Could've done a LOT better. (Didn't see, but I saw previews and read reviews.)
Old Magic is a great book too. It's by Marianne Curley if anyone is interested.
Dragon's Bait is absolutely my favorite book of all time. It's by Vivian Vande Velde. Basically, it's about a girl who was offered to a dragon. He turns into a human, and joins her because he wants to take part in her revenge. ;3
I'm really attached to my novels though. I love Siddhartha, The Count of Monte Cristo, and The Alchemist. Right now, I'm trying to get into Pride and Prejudice, Inferno and The Tales of Genji. As of yet, I don't think I'm getting anywhere with them. =.=

xD; Undomistic Goddess to me was like, the worst one out of all the books she wrote so far. D: I dunno why, it just seemed.. off of her normal writing style.
domokun Sophie Kinsella published a few new ones too, but I haven't been able to find out the names of them yet. ;/
The Shopaholic Series is my favourite, though, from her. :]
--
As for the Twilight book, EVERYONE on the internet I meet always tells me to read it. xD; They say if Im into fantasy and romance [which i am] that I would LOVE the book.
Lets just say I havent gotten around to reading it yet. xD;
AND, that book, Dragon's Bait of which you speak of seems something that I would be VERY interested in reading. ;D
-writes the name and authors down of the books that wouldnt look to bad- :]<3 Im glad people read as much as I do.

Meh, I just like to read the more well known books...
I've read Memoirs of a Geisha, it's a lovely book. I've read almost all of Tamora Pierce's books. I loved fantasy when I was younger...well, I still do, but not as much. And the Harry Potter series! Tsktsk, can't forget about that ;D
I liked Inkheart & Inkspell by Cornella Funke also, anyone read those? (fantasy)
Twilight (series) is one of my favorites though ^_____^ @Crayola: I thought New Moon was a bit boring, (not a big fan of Jacob and Bella,) but I thought Eclipse was fine, xD. And I like Meg Cabot's writings too. I haven't read Every Boy's Got One though..
--
Ehh, for some reason, I've always wanted to read "To Kill A Mockingbird", but I've never got the chance to.
--
@Tenshi: What do you mean by original Sleeping Beauty?
--
Yeah, I don't read as often as I use to...(I'm more into fanfictions now...D: shame those don't count as school reading.) But if I get my hand on a good book I'll still be hooked :]

Anyone like those horrifying fairy tales, like the original Sleeping Beauty or the original Cinderella? Cinderella was the first fairy tale by the Grimm Brothers that I ever read (and it's also my favorite). I found out about it when I was reading fanfiction so I googled it and for a few days I just sat at my computer reading all of the fairy tales by the Grimm brothers that I could find.

I'm not picky about what I read as long as it is a good book. Plus, I'm too lazy to post the books I have read and liked... xp

Ooh. I just finished reading 3 new books. <3
One was The Nanny Diaries. Quite an interesting book! [Its also being turned into a movie, as well. Off topic, but I think they should make the Shopaholic series into a movie. <3 I think lots of people would go to see it.]
And the other two were by Meg Cabot, the first two books in the Mediator Series. :] Loved them. Especially Jesse, for anyone who read it. xD; I thought he was pretty hot s**t. <3
Hm. Books I've been dying to read are Twilight, seeing as everyones been making such a fuss over it, and most of Meg Cabots books. : D

@x-Hanoodle-: In the original Sleeping Beauty, before the prince woke Beauty up, he raped her first. It was horrible, yes, but the maturity of the Grimms tales was what hooked me to it. The versions of their fairy tales right now are watered down for younger audiences.
Meg Cabot is such a phenomenon. But I don't like her, for some reason. I mean, sure I adore her American Girl book and her more mature books like Every Boy's Got One but since she is the epitome of chick lit, that's probably why I don't like her too much. I'm not too big on chick lit, though The Undomestic Goddess was all right. (Was reading it during a trip to my hairdresser - rather read that than the tabloid papers scattered around the parlor.)
