Hell, I usually just like to run the Half, but that's because with my size, that's usually all I have to do to get the pin once they're on the ground. A good go-behind move, is something my coaches call the barnburner. You basically pop your opponent's arm up while you're locked up with him, and then you kick your leg through, and if you did it good enough, you should be behind him.

Olympic wrestling/ High school/ College
My big size was both good and bad. I train with the other heavyweight and 215/ 185. I was wrestling with a 185. The do pissed me off. We were living wrestling. I surprised him with a head and arm and cracked his ribs. Of Course seeing he was on the football team and his ribs were hurting before. I was pretty much the breaking point.
But yeah the Half nelson does usually work.

I wrestled one season in high school, I didn't like it that much so I stuck with Hapkido and Soccer.

It pretty much the same thing, but from what i heard training for indy will be harder. Because you triple your ever fro a regular wrestling. Plus if you have that back ground from high school wrestling it could work for you in the ring. Look at sabu, In ecw he did a single at the beginning of the match most ofthe time. Also a half nelson is used now. more then ever.

Was Sabu ever an amature wrestler? I always thought he was brought up Pro Style by his uncle. I sometimes think it's better to come up with a martial arts background rather then amature wrestling when you're breaking into the pros. Modern day pro style resembles more martial arts movie then an amature wrestling meet. Even the great amature wrestlers like Shelton Benjamin and Kurt Angle had to re-learn everything when they turned pro. If you're a smaller guy, gymnastics can help you in your career as well.

I loved wrestling this year in High School... I may have been only a Freshman, but I was undefeated in my one match on Varsity... Be it by forfeit... I still count that as a major victory! I loved it though... The practices were tough, and I was tired by the end of them, but at least that gave me a reason to eat dinner and go to sleep when I got home. The energy in the Varsity meets were just... Wow... It was so awesome getting to wrestle in front of the fans... This one time, this dude was ontop of me, trying to get a power half in, but I did a Tripod Roll, and I got out of it and had him on his stomach. From there, I just turned around quickly grabbed the Half and ran it. Needless to say, I got the pin... It was freaking awesome... That got me a medal in the tournament...

What is amateur wrestling like? I've wanted to do it, but because of my size I'm pretty sure I'd get squashed... sad
