Hmm, I think I started playing guitar cos I really wanted to play music, I wanted to play drums, but my parents wouldnt let me cos We dont have the space for drums.. and its noisy.. My brother already played guitar and so I tought I'd start playing guitar. Now Ive got group guitar lessons for 1.5 year, and I'm gonna stop that And go on with duo lessons.
So my question is: Why did you start playing guitar?

Well, it all started 5 years ago when I suddenly had this obsession with guitar. I would do air guitar(not knowing what I was doing), my mom got me an electronic play guitar, and I even made a ghetto guitar out of K'nex. My mom finally decided that I need to play for real. She tried to get me into the classes that the city offered for free, but I was about 2 weeks too late. So then she went to one of her good friends and I had privats lessons. I was in the Jr. Hi band at church after that and that instructor moved away. I then took lessons from the guy in charge of the band, but after about 2 months of lessons, he moved away. Now I am all alone, just improving on what I know.
I know that was like a brief summary of my entire Guitar history.

Well I started off on the Bass Guitar, and I only played it for two reasons: 1) I looked up to my sister, who was a bass player. 2) I really wanted to play an instrument. So i asked her to teach me the easiest song she knew. I didnt play after that, but two years afterwards I started again. But I wasnt any good.So I started messin around with the guitar. My brother tuaght me my first song,Rivers Of Babylon by Sublime. He gives me lessons because he is an amazing guitarist..and he is an instructor at Best Buy's Guitar Center. But anyway,I created some weird bond with it. I couldnt go a day without playing. Then one day I thought to myself, "The bass is too quiet..I want to be heard.." so I converted from full time bassist to guitarist.I regret nothing :]

Well it all started in the Winter of '88 it was a cold Wednesday morning, my mother was in a great deal of pain, and I was chargin through!
J/K
I actually started playing for partly self-esteem issues, at first it was just so people wouldn't think I was a load of sh!t and didn't amount to the aforementioned load of sh!t. People just took me for a kid with no talent at all, so I picked up guitar after being inspired by music, and eventually got really into it.
A little emo, but I got back on my feet, and am now a fledged weirdo/outcast/rocker biggrin

Well I started playing for a couple of reasons, I never really had an intrest in guitar or music for that matter but more writing, and drawing. Ans then one summer I went to a garage sale and found a beat up old electric, they wanted 100 for it with a 10 watt amp but my mother and I whittled the ouner down to 75. So I brought it home and started playing it out of tune of course and 3 strings missing xd I brought it to a guitar shop in my town and heard them playing so beautiful it really calmed me down. So I played day in and out to keep me calm, you see I have a mental illness call E.A.D Explosive Anger Disorder. And playing guitar really calmed me down and got alot of my emotions out, so now 2 years later im plum crazy about guitar and want to be one of the best in the world xd

I started playing guitar because music is my passion. I chose the guitar because of the beautiful sounds that it makes, the designs that there are, and because you can sing your heart out and shred your guitar to pieces at the same time.

back when i was 12, my friends started getting guitars for christmas and my dad has been a guitarist since he was 16. so i started messing around on one of dad's old guitars and found out from my friends that i was actually pretty good. so i kept going and now i absolutely love it, and practically all of my friends stopped playing but i can't live without it. plus, dad is now in a band, so that inspires me to one day start one of my own.

Because there was this mystical force that would speak to me and say . . . "If you play it, they will come."
LOL, actually I started playing because I was given one. Plain and simple.
