Moyenda yawned and stretched, his bum protruding into the air as his claws dug lightly at the earth. He smacked his jaws dreamily and looked around, expected to find just that, that he had been dreaming. His expectations of what had happened to be real were minimal, although his hope was just the opposite. His eyes met the sun, which stung his glazed eyes. Mo drew back his head and squinted, temporarily disoriented.

Darn sun. He was alone, wasn't he?

Chuguu lapped at the water at the small watering hole near where they had decided to spend the night. The side of her body that had rested against Moyenda was still warmer than the rest of her body and she took comfort in the fact. She hadn't wanted to wake her newest companion when she woke before him. Surely no harm could letting him get a few extra winks.

After quenching her thirst, Chu made her way to the spot that she had left the sleeping lion. Seeing he had woken and wincing in the bright light of the sun, she came up silently behind him. He seemed to be a bit bewildered in the early hour. Chu came up beside him and nudged him in the shoulder in a way of greeting.

Mo started but caught himself. He had swiftly memorized that touch. He smiled and stilled his racing heart. I'm fine he mentally sighed.

"Good morning," he said cheerfully, although not forgetting to give the blinding sun rays a glare. His heart involuntarily fluttered. Ah, was this what it was like to be happy? ...Hm? Was that water he detected on her muzzle? He laughed internally. I'm learning my lessons well. He glanced over to Chu then again, I have a great teacher. And he'd be better once he got over the disorientation and the fear of shattered dreams every time he woke up.

Chu grinned at his slight flinch of muscles. Some wouldn't have noticed it, but she had almost come to expect it from the jumpy lion.

"Yes it is a good morning sleepy head,"she replied as she lapped at a stray droplet of water from her fur. "I can show you where the water is if you'd like or I could leave you to find it yourself." She turned from him as if she were about to leave him to his own devices. Her eyes gave her jest away as she gave him a slightly suggestive grin over her shoulder.

Her offer sounded like a jest, a test. He was perplexed in coming up with the right answer. It was a "the red pill or the blue pill" sort of test, in his opinion. Mo turned his head over his shoulder to look at her as she began to leave. A grin crept over his face and he trotted after her.

At this point in time, someone could have probably asked him anything and he'd do it. He was blissfully happy. Yes, he still had responsibility and grounding to keep him from floating into space but disregarding that, he was happy.

Chuguu couldn't help it whe her grin widened. The look of pure bilssful contestedness on Mo's face was quite contagious. She felt as carefree as a cub.

With a laugh she turned and ran, sprinting across the grasses. She started making a circle around the watering hole. Her mind trained in ambush was now thinking of way to lure her companion into a mischeivious trap. Chu chuckled to herself as she sprinted to the cover of a group of trees.

[I do that to people wink ...too lazy to size down my post D;]

Mo chased after, not exactly caring if the others in the traveling group woke up. Not so much that he didn't care but that everyone else was forgotten. He was so glad to see her happy, blissfully so. She was a hunter and by extension, a warrior, a bodyguard. For all he knew, playing might not have been in her training ...but he was glad to see her do so.

He reached the water hole and slowed to a stop. Mo watched her run around the waterhole. With a grin, he took the time to take a drink and did not see where she disappeared to. By the time he considered it time to look up, she was nowhere to be seen.

"Ah, that game," he laughed and began following her tracks like a hound dog.

The image of the big cat that Mo was, acting so much like the wild dogs that ran about the savanah was a sight that brought the laughter from Chu. Though he cover was clearly blown, she just didn't really care.

After collecting herself, she sprinted once again toward the water. She slowed her pace, waiting for Mo to reach just the right position, before she would spring the trap.

It was oddly fun for the huntress to play the lure in her own trap.

It was indeed quite odd for a huntress to be the lure, so odd that Mo didn't think of it. He looked up in her general direction and tried his darnest to give the appearance of his ears perking up and wagged his tail. Not trying for a howl, he sprinted in her direction. He approached her and slowed, then lowered his front half, his bum protruding in the air, tail wagging like a giddy, playful puppy. His brain was trying to tell him something but somewhere along the way, a road block popped up. He had no clue what was in store...

It took every ounce of control Chu had not to drop and roll in the dust simply laughing at Mo's antics. She could wait a few moments before enjoying a good laugh.

In the back of her mind almost buried in the urge to laugh Chu thanks the gods that where Mo had stopped was a perfect postion to carry out her plan.

Without a bit of warning Chu leaped into the water. the spray thoroughly soaking them both. The cool water in her dark fur felt wonderful. The hot sun was never kind to those that were on the darker end of the spectrum.

As she looked to the bank at the now dripping "puppy" she could no longer hold in the the mirth that had be trying to burst from her in the last few minutes.

His mouth dropped open in surprise, conveniently filling up with water as he got sprayed. Unfortunately that was not what he was going for and he sputted it all out. And while she chortled, he quickly invented simple revenge that relied, rather simply, on sheer weight. Adjusting his weight slightly, he lunged into the water after her, hoping for a bigger splash than what she had made.

Sheer weight might not have been the answer. It was shallow enough that the force of his jump was enabled to greet the murky bottom with his body and soak him in the process. He let out an "ooumph" before righting himself and doggy-paddled over to her, still a mischievous look to his grin.

His sputtering only succeeded in bringing on a new wave of laughter. Though slightly distracted she managed to raised a paw in time to block the wave of water that was sent in her direction, blocking her face from harm. Because of this his revenge tactic was one that simply resulted in her getting rewetted. Something that becasue of the sun she did not mind in the least.

Chu sat patiently in the water as she waited for him to reach her. When he made it the sight of his fur hanging heavily on him she almost felt a little guilty. ..... Almost.

"Well here's the water if you haven't quite noticed." she said as she leaned forward and with a gentle paw wiped a bit of mane that had been haging in his face.

[I just realise that before this all they really said was good morning.]

((yea, just a lot of panting ...and running ...and laughter xDD))

He looked up at her eyes as if he had never seen anything else. "Oh really?" he asked, trying to sound innocent, "I actually hadn't noticed. He purposefully splashed around a bit, travelling a semi-circle around her.

Then there was a slight pause where his plan was quite visible on his face and he lunged, tackling her to take her down into the water. He was grinning broadly now, not exactly caring whether or not he won or lost but still trying.

Still recovering from her laughter Chu didn't notice the tiny hint of the coming collsion. She made a sound that greatly resembled a mewling squeek as his paws hit her side.

Chu lay in the water with a very fake worried expression. "Oh no a big strong lion has pinned me in this water. Whatever shall I do?" she said with a whiney voice that would sound at home on a scared cub. Chu's paws lashed out harmlessy at Mo's chest as she "tried desperatly" to free herself.

In that moment, the game had gone from win or lose to just having fun. It was something she had rarely done, even as a cub. For a while there were only the two of them playing carelessly.

There was a moment of surprise in him, surprise over her not fighting back. But it was left with the back of his mind to deal with. This was here and now. Taking in surprise would spoil it. Taking said advice, Mo laughed haughtily as if he were a burly -but sexy- villain eying a damsel to kidnap back to his luxurious but Gothic abode. "Ah fair damsel, but I shall make away with thee and hide from the world thine beauty 'ere tis mine."

And then he swooped down upon her, trying not to laugh.
