The Forest The first thing that is noticeable about the forest is a thick smell of dense woodland, rotting vegetation that wraps around one as they enter the forest, creating alluring magic immediately in the forest. The scent changes with every step that is taken, making the enchantment real, and even more impressive. But the smell of woodlands is not the only thing that is noticed. The sounds that are heard are many. The chorus of birds is loud, and the rise and fall of the tones weaves in a strange way with that of the calling of cicadas and crickets. Even the calling of frogs and toads make a strange and complex base line to the orchestra of sounds. The air is dense and full of moister, and it is enough to make breathing hard, but it is just right for a forest. The trees tower above head, huge towers of wood and bark. Tall, looming pine trees deposit brown needles that twist and turn in a graceful ballet as they fall, ending on the ground in a messy and cushioned carpet. A thick fog caresses everything in the forest with whispery and thin fingers of white and gray that wrap around everyone who enters. The light is constantly dark, and it seems to be slightly green-tinted, and the forest in its densest area never gets any lighter, it stays in a state of dusk. A small path meanders though the forest, wrapping itself in labyrinth type formation though the forest, the color that of a light cream, the sand not keeping entirely in the area set out for the path, and so the edge looks almost fuzzy, and the disorganization of the forest is re-enforced. If one follows the paths twisted course, the powerful sound of rushing water can be heard. Sounding quite like drums, it is an intense sound that pounds ears and the slight vibration of the rocks around the rapids is almost visible, but it could just be the mind. The water in the rushing was a crystalline blue, foaming where water met rock in a rush of white, it was an impressive river. The path follows the river, and soon the sound intensifies until it is a roar like a large predatory beast, and finally it makes a sharp drop-off, the water curving over the edge, where it falls in a huge crush where the foam is intense, and the spray can be felt from far distances away. A tower that falls down in a rush of blue, dominant it falls, in one thick sheet. The water has turned completely white by this point, until it starts to level out, and the white spirals in soft swirls of blue. The rocks in the rivers have been polished flat by the rushing of the water, and they come in all colors, gray, black, yellow, white, and brown. The trees start to thin at this point. They are smaller, and there are less of them. The leaves stop crunching under foot, and the light comes into the picture, in large shoots of yellow from the sky. The path that follows the river continues on, into the clearing. -Kats Essence

The fox coloured mare trotted herway between the trees. She loved to gallop through the forest in the night, weaving in and out f the trees but today she was just gently trotting through the forest, leaves crackling under her weight. The sun rays were fighting their way through the canopy of leaves, the morning air, it was beautiful.
The Soquili made her way through the trees to the patch in the middle, the clearing, there she lowered her head and started to munch on the fresh grass, it was moist from the morning dew and the taste, that was amazing. She was happy here, very happy.

Intrepid sighed lightly, a small frown on his features. He was taking a breather from Rikka and the two kids, lately he hadn't had much time for socializing at all. And it wasn't fair! A stallion needed to be social.
So he was taking a slow walk through the woods, enjoying the views and the smells that the forest brought about. His short tail gave a flick and his ears swiveled, trying to catch sounds of another.

Sundance happily strolled through the forest. The feathers in her mane and tail swayed lightly with her movements. Forests were her chosen domain because of her smaller frame. The twists and turns of the forest were of no problem to her unless she planned on getting omewhere fast but the white mare was in no hurry and certainly had nowhere to be. Soon her nose wrinkled when she smelled another. Her lovely stroll came to a halt as she swivelled her ears for a sound. She shifted her weight between her forelegs and whinned softly.
The skittish mare wondered what it had been. She hadn't seen a Soquili in quite sometime and she didn't believe that any others could thrive in forests like she could.

Intrepid paused in his steps, ears flickering slightly and his whole body shifting to move more to the right. He faintly heard the whinnie and let out a slight neigh, maybe this was his chance for some socialization.
His hooves thudded lightly against the damp, spring-like earth. Trep was a fairly good sized Stallion, he just liked the forest for the sights it brought and for the things you could find in it, like the falls for instance.
The little white mare came into view and he stopped, his eyes drinking in her beauty. He'd come to realize that every mare he'd met with was beautiful in her own way. The white fur and the pink mane did wonders for this one, she was very cute. "Hi there." He said, carefully and friendly, a little spark of his former self shifting into place.

Sundance nearly jumped at the sound of the greeting. Her tail flicked in slight irritation but soon calmed herself. The white mare was taken aback by the handsome stallion. She didn't realize that she was starring until words began to spill from her maw. "Hello..." A soft voice that she barely recognized had come from her and she coughed lightly. She hadn't met a stallion that was as striking as him before and the mare could feel color rise to her face.
The damp earth under her hooves caused her to shift her weight but being around the impressive male she fonund herself doing it constantly. "I didn't know that anyone else could navigate through the forest my dear sir." She tossed her head. "What brings you here?"

Intrepid grinned in a delighted manner as he spotted the blush, tail flicking. "What brings me here? I've lived here for quite some time, actually. I was taking a break from wandering. What intruiges me, though, is that such a pretty mare is around these parts. Not very often do I see them around here." He gave her a playful wink, moving toward the river.
"My name is Intrepid, and yours?" He glanced over his shoulder, hoping she'd follow a bit. She was a stunning creature herself.

Sundance had been told by Swampie not to go prancing around with stallions but she was very lonely. The stallion seem nice enough and was stunning to boot. Pink hooves shuddering with tenative steps she followed Intrepid. "My name is Sundance." She trotted along side the much larger Intrepid. "I'm sorry if this seems rude but I have heard such compliments before. Is there a reasone why you, yourself, would use them?"
Sundance was quite naive in the ways of affection and was, as many would soon know, very gulliable.

"Sundance." He cooed out, thinking about the name. "It is lovely." He murmered o her, flicking his gaze to her and then back to the river, with a grin plastered to his face. After he got to the river he leaned down to drink, ears flicking to listen to her question. After hearing it he snorted and would have laughed, except he began to choke on the water.
He jerked his head up and to the side, still whinnying and choking all at once. After he calmed himself he took a few deep breaths. "Excuse me, that just struck my funny bone. Why would anyone not compliment you so? Compliments are usually truth, mine are anyhow. And I use them simply because the truth should be known." He gave her another little wink, tail flicking.

Sundance chuckled herself. "I guess it was a pointless question. Of course compliments would be used." The feathers in her tail swayed lightly with a flicker. Slowly she made her way forwrd. Inching closer to the waters edge. "I'm happy to know that you think that I'm pretty." She dipped her head down closer to the water to advert her gaze." You're quite handsome yourself."
The blush rushed towrds her face once again at her words and she dipped her muzzle into the water.

He turned his face away to hide the pleased grin, instead working his expression into that of confusement. "Really, handsome? No horse has ever actually called me.. well, attractive." This was a lie of course, but she didn't know that, did she?
"I'm sure many would realize I am ugly standing next to such a radient beauty as yourself." He teased, his face quirking into a smile again.

Sundance nearly coughed when she heard him and lifted her dripping muzzle from the river. "I find that hard to believe..." The white mare chuckled and turned to him.
"I wouldn't call myself radiant but I'll take that compliment." Her mind was swimming with her imaginations. A handsome stallion was actually speaking to her.

"Why of course, if you called yourself that than you'd be concieted, and thats never attractive at all." He joked, chuckling slightly. "Anyhow beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and my eye is very good at choosing who's beautiful and who's not." His ears flicked a little, watching her idly.

Sundance whickered and flicked her tail. "I'm glad that you have such a good eye. Not that you would need to have one considering yourself." Her mind was a jumble of images and she was suprised that she was able to talk. Something in her told her not to push the issue of his looks and at that moment she obeyed. "I don't find concieted attractive at all."

"Good because I don't either." He nodded slowly. "So what are you doing this fine afternoon?" His ears perked in a questioning manner, hoping perhaps that she was free to take a walk with him. Or something of the like, maybe even play a game or two.
