The clearing The clearing in the forest was more of a meadow then anything else. The sun was bright here, and the change was drastic from the darkness of the forest. The light was warm on one’s body, as it falls in soft yellow sheets. The golden light bounce off the emerald hued grass in small waves. The grass is a mixture of health, many types of plants live in the meadow, but all small, and most of them green. Around the edges of the field the grass gets slightly bigger, but it still stays much smaller then any plant in the forest. Flowers dot the field like small gemstones set in green. The patches of color are many, yellow, pink, red, blue and purple are all present. The flowers are small, and unimpressive, as just one alone, but because they are grouped in large blotches, they are beautiful in appearance. In fact, the field looks almost like a patchwork quilt, and the grass is probably just as soft. The sky is a clear blue, a soft color that seems to dome over in a soft half-sphere. Small cream clouds create fluff in the sky, small ovals of white that move and sway in the gentle breeze that controls not only the clouds, but the grass also sways with the movements of the wind. The river slows its rapid movement, and it slows to a gentle, but steady flowing and the bed has gotten wider, and the river looks tired, as if it has been driven to exhaustion by its crazy track in the forest. At the very end of the clearing is a small lake. The lake is not as clear as the river, and the color is slightly browned. Fish as silver flashes in the water, and they dart in and out of rock crevasse with unworldly grace. Small clumps of green are sitting on the top of the water in wool-like patches of algae. The meadow is vast, and lots of small animals can been seen, for it is open, and a good source of water. Large water birds bathed, swam and fed in the lake, eating the fish that lived there. It was not too abnormal to spot a snow white crane, face dipped in black, standing on the shallow bank, with a huge squirming fish in mouth. Ducks also love to perch on the top of the water. Some a ghost white, but others are not, instead they are a sediment colored brown, flecked in many different textures and shades. The lovely mustard path ends at the edge of the lake, it just stops, with no warning. -Kats Essence

With a small shake of his large head, the horse that had been sipping water from the soft, clear pool, the horse stopped drinking, and perked his ears as he listened for something that had startled him. Because of the shake, long and silky strands of raven-colored mane were sent into large and intelligent eyes that shined in the sunlight. His mane was really the color of a raven, because although it was slightly lighter then the mean-tempered bird, it seemed to shine with all different colors, dark, forest greens, soft and reflective blues and even a few magical shades of purple and rich shades of brown, in the light. An eagle soared above the horse, in a blur of golden light, but that was not what startled the horse, who was dubbed Boss. The cause of the small rustling sound that had alerted the horse came into view as it scurried across the path that half the horse was covering, darting between four powerful gray legs that belonged to Boss. It was a small thing, an unidentifiable rodent, perhaps a shrew, mouse or vole, a small black blur of color, with a whip-like tail that snapped around as the small animal darted around. With the sight of the other animal the muscles that had tightened taut when the horse was startled relaxed, and he bent down and started to eat the green carpet of grass that he was standing on.
The sun was bright, and the horse found himself rather hot, and he tried to cool himself with his large tail that was the same shades and colors as his mane, and it swished in a large sweeping arch, but it hardly helped, so the horse started to walk, and then trot, and finally canter, in the normal three-beat gait, towards the other side of the meadow, and into the cooler forest. He troubled not with the path, instead he danced in lazy and not very productive loops in the green meadow. He actually did not pass the boundary into the forest, instead he rested in the tall grass just under the shade the trees. The organic smell was released from the forest, but the horse hardly noticed. Even at the cusp of the forest, the fog reached out its bony hands that wrapped around the horse in delicate patterns, but again, he seemed not to be bothered by this either. The horse let out a small snort, as he stood in the soft shade of the trees.
((Hmm...I am not so happy with this, but it will have to do...))

Gentle breeze blows through the clearings where the spring birds chirp happily on the branches of the oaks.E-doa sniffs the blooming flowers spread through the greens,he loves the meadows especially the scent of the fresh greens. The young greyish filly trots towards the river where the clear,see-through stream flows gently down to the stop.He stretches his long neck and has a sip on the fresh cool water.

All was quiet around the clearing. Brids sang cheerful songs and butterflies flew around from flower to flower. It was very peacful and serine but not for long.
Suddenly, a red and gold colored colt burst out from the nearby forest and ran as fast as her could around the clearing. He had managed to escape the watchfully eye of his mother for some adventure all on his own. He was enjoying the freedom of not having his mother there watching his every move.

Gracefully trotting around the bushes, Amayeta found herself arriving into the clearing in the Soquili lands. A soft breeze brushed against her as she slowed down her pace and looked around. Everything seemed very calm around here, though she somewhat wish some other soquilis could have found there way through here as well. She never had really met any other foals like herself since she had gotten around here, curiosly enough. She sniffed the air for a moment, searching for any unfamiliar scent.

His ear flicked backwards as he thought he heard hooves just beyond the river. The filly snored as he lifted up his head to see who or what was that. Under the ray of the sparkling sun shine,he saw another colt just like himself, cantering across the clearing.Yet,he looked shinny under the sun where it's red coat reflected the sunlight. E-doa flicked it's tail curiously and watched the colt running freely pass. He was excited but something drew him back. He was scared to meet up a new stranger.....his very 1st time....

Jazz didn't notice the other two foals in the clearing as he ran around. He ran this way and that not really going anywhere at all. The breeze played with his mane and flet cool across his back. His tail flicked this way and that as he ran happily around.
As he was running, still not paying attention, when he ran headlong into a filly that was minding her own business hiding in the bushes.

Ama's ears slightly perked up at a figured caught her attention near by. It seemed like there was another soquili in the clearing. With excitement she picked up her pace and trotted forward to the other foal. It looked to be a male and his coat was colored in dark and light grey. Though all of a sudden another figured ran by on the side of the river. A second soquili perhaps? Well none the less, Amayeta kept going forward to meet this new foal. Hopefully he would want to be friend with her.

E-doa'sheart beats like a thunder drum when the female colt approached him.Without any hestitation,he trotted towards the young female around his age with his head lifted, proudly although he was a tiny wee bit scared but he tried to hide from the filly. He whinned, "Hi! I am E-doa!"

As Jazz raced around the clearing he noticed two other foals his age standing together and became very curious. He slowed down enough to notice that the grey one was a colt like himself and the the brown one was a filly. Curiosity beginning to get the better of him, jazz decided to head over towards the small group in hopes of making some friends.
((Sorry but soon I will have to get off and go to bed. I have school in the morning. Also I appologize for the slow posting as I am trying to finish up my english homework.))

Amayeta's eyes were shining like stars as she noticed the coalt trotting toward her. He actually wanted to meet her! She gave a soft snored and greeted him with a cheerful voice. "Good day! My name is Amayeta!" she replied. Then she seemed to try and bow down before him. "It is nice to meet you E-doa!" she added. She's been thought by her owner to always be polite toward new soquilies and humans. Then the sound of hooves coming toward caught her attentiona and she noticed another coalt coming to meet them.

"A--ma--y--e--ta" he whinned as he flicked his tail back and forth excitely. "Nice to meet you!" E-doa saw Ama bow before him so he tried to follow what's she was doing until he banged onto Ama'a head accidently. "OuCh!" he blushed as he lifted his head pretending nothing had happened before,in another hand,he was trying to hide his clumsiness from the new friend he just met.

As he walked towards the other two he called out a greeting to them "Hello!" he called brightly and picked up his pace to get over to them quicker. He was excited to meet others of his own age. The only two that he knew were his sister Tori and his brother Fenrir.

Amayeta laughed lightly as E-doa hit his head against hers. Perhaps he was a little too excited and that made him a bit clumsy. None the less he looked friendly so far. Then she looked to her left, seeing the other coalt coming to join them. As he greeted them, she whinned to him as a greeting manner. "Hello there!" she said softly. "It seems like we all got here in the same time." she added. She turned her attention to the redish coalt. "My name is Amayeta, and this is E-doa!" she said with a nod.
