"So, little amigo, what adventure shall we go on today?"
The brightly colored stallion gave off his large typical grin as he threw his head back, his colorful curls bouncing off of his neck. Today was a fine day for rescuing damsels in distress, winning the adoration of foals, or simply causing any mischief they could get their hooves into. Yes, today was a grand day, and he was going to make the best of it. The small buffalo snorted as his taller friend questioned him. He knew well from experience that it was best not to give the stallion straight answers... Quetz enjoyed coming up with plans on his own.
Which was fine with Paco, all the same. He preferred to tag along and be the trusty sidekick, no matter what trouble they found themselves getting into. Quetz was always there for him, egotistical or not, and that satisfied any need Paco might want out of life.
"I don't know, sir," the bison answered honestly, his beady eyes compassing the field around them. "Perhaps the adventure will find us soon enough?"

She moved quickly, trying to avoid the female she knew was after her. It was so hard to play hide-and-seek with a raccoon. Especially Haita, who could move so quickly on dextrous paws. Her eyes lit on the field, and she gauged how wide it was. If she pulled a mad dash, maybe she could get far enough away. Open field meant faster running. BUT... What if Haita had anticipated her mad dash? Too slow, lady! Haita fell from the tree above Tehya with a mad chitter. "TAG! You are SO it!" And the racoon ran for the field, laughing. Tehya blinked, and shot off after her, dirt churning under hoof. "Come back here you!"

Dark ears heard the faint rustle of leaves, and he stood rigid, his head still held high.
"Paco! I hear movement!" he whispered, jerking his head in the direction the sound was coming from. "Do you hear it?"
He had to wonder sometimes if Quetz just pretended to hear things just for the heck of it. But then again, his smaller ears were never good at picking up the sounds the stallion heard, so large shoulders simply shrugged as a response.
"Would you like me to take a look, sir?" he asked dutifully.
"Nonsense." Quetzal replied huffily, as if slightly offended. "No need in risking your life in this potentially dangerous situation! We shall both go and investigate!"
And with that, he began a trot towards the noise's area, not even looking back, for he knew his trusty comrade would be trailing right behind.

Tehya caught her about 1/3 of the way into the clearing. Pounced on the smaller body with the scream of a dying creature. "YOU ARE MIIIIINE, CREATURE!"
Haita gave a bloodcurdling shriek as Tehya bit at her tail. "NOOOO! STOP! PLEASE!" The raccoon begged, trying to tug the ends out. "Not the tail, Tehya!"
Tehya cackled, lifting her friend into the air by the end of her tail, cackling through her teeth. "And what shall I do with you, now that you have been captured? Shall I boil you in a pot, stew you like a turtle? Roast you like a BUFFALO?"
"Don't eat meee!" Haita gave a weepy little whine. Her friend was always threatening to do thast! One time, she'd even dropped Haita into Citlalli's earthenware stewpot and kept her in there for almost 3 hours! Before Citlalli opened it to wash it before preparing her meal.
... But it was all in good fun, right? Tehya would surely... surely... never REALLY eat her. She didn't have the right teeth for it! And Tehya would sure miss her, right?!
