It had only been about 15 minutes ago that Alec had called the lizard girl up on the intercom to talk about some kind of a slumber party in the entertainment room. Of course she had accepted. So with Alec hauling blankets and pillows on his lap Amaya had gone to the cafeteria and grabbed snacks, then met up with the shark boy as they walked (and wheeled) into the entertainment room.
For Alec's sake, Donner had been left home.
"What kind of movies do you like?" She asked while walking to the sofa, kicking the DVD cases sprawled about to the side so Alec could wheel through.

Alec struggled to pinpoint a particular genre he liked above all, his taste in movies varying greatly. Like any typical guy he enjoyed the plotless thrillers, the gruesome horror/slasher flicks, ninjas, pirates, explosions and girls. What he did know is what he definetly didn't like. "Neh chick flicks!" The irish sharkboy announced over the piles of linen and pillows neatly stacked up on his lap so high that he could barely see around them. Couldn't watch movies without lazily flopping out with some decently fluffed pillows.
As Amaya cleared a path for him, the youngster managed to wheel around the furniture until he faced the screen, making sure his wheelchair was in reach of the sofa for easy transfer. Tossing the pillows first, he shifted and rocked until he was sure he was ready to joust himself into the cushioned seats. "A' d'n care, anehthin." The boy retracted his comment. If she wanted to watch some sappy tearjerker then hell, sure. He'd sit through it and despise every moment, but he'd sit through it.

"Good, because I hate chick flicks too." After setting down all the snacks (jerky, water, strawberries, etc.) the iguana kneeled down and started to rummage through all the movies. They had almost everything, but one stood out from all the others.
"Y'know I've heard about it but I've never seen it." Amaya waved a DVD case of Pulp Fiction at Alec. "Have you seen it?"

In the meanwhile Alec braced his arms against the sides of the wheelchair and hoisted himself up and over the gap between himself and the couch with minimal hardship. He was grateful that he'd been building up some upper-body muscle mass in the recent past, as it definetly helped him maeuver easier. He could remember the first day he got his chair and how utterly difficult and tiring it had been to wheel over to even the cafeteria to eat. Settling in finally, he glanced over at what Amaya was holding up.
"Ha-Ha ye! S'fookin wehd bu' s'good!" The teen laughed, recalling some of the more awkward moments in the movie. If she didn't like chick flicks though, maybe she was into that?

Amaya snorted. "Okay." As Alec settled in she popped in the DVD and then grabbed the remote. She sat down next to the shark boy, shifting a little so her long tail stretched in the opposite direction over the couch and even over the armrest to hang at a comfortable enough position. It didn't help that it took up just as much room as the rest of her body would lying down.
She handed Alec the jerky and a bottle of water while grabbing one for herself and taking the little bowl of strawberries in her lap. Amaya then clicked play and wiggled into the back of the sofa to get comfortable.

Like a well-coordinated plan, Alec piled blankets around the iguana girl and pillows for both as she went about distributing snacks. By the time the movie had begun they were settled in on the sofa in the darkness, ready to relax and enjoy the movie. "This s'a good pawt." He snerked and pointed idly to the screen during the opening scenes, indicative of his possible behavior throughout the entire movie, perhaps.
Why had he suggested in the first place that they come out in the dark of night just to watch a movie? Simple. To Alec, at least. It had nothing to do with the fact that it was Valentine's Day at all, seeing as he had no clue what day of the week it was most the time anyways. No, this was about insecurities best left unmentioned in his books. Ever since the ordeal in the Village he'd had the distinct idea that he had to keep Amaya close from now on. There were real dangers on the island, dangers worse than the presence of predators or natural trafedies. These dangers had faces and names and they were fully aware what they were doing when they caused harm.
He'd never tell her himself, but hearing (barely) the iguana girl so adamently support the crazed tigerman left him uneasy and upset. He had to stop her from graduating into the class of the predators, those who caused harm. He had made the mistake of taking on a vigilante-style life once and he was shameful of it to that day. He had to keep her safe and stored away like an antique china doll. It was the only way.
But those were heavy thoughts and long-gone from his mind. Right now, it was time to have fun.

"Does it play backwards like other Tarentino movies?" She questioned while popping a strawberry into her long snout, her head cocked to one side so she could watch the movie. Like Alec she had since long been unable to chew food normally. Although she probably wasn't as messy, the fruit was squished with her teeth and moved around by her tongue before she could swallow the little bits. It was a little loud and anyone who didn't like smacking lips would surly get annoyed by it, but it was the only way she could eat.
Amaya, all snuggled up with the pillows and blankets, was only thinking about this very moment. The comment she had made to Jamal had been what she really thought. Everything had been taken from her, even the ability to have a normal child - the only thing she truly wanted. The instant she had given birth to 30 or so eggs was when everything had changed in her mind... either for the better, or for the worse.
But she was trying not to let Alec see what she really thought. How useless she thought her life was and how bitter and vindictive she was towards the labs. If it weren't for him, she would have run with Jamal out into the jungle and possibly helped him any way she could.
Alec was the rope tied around her neck keeping her from doing a lot of what people would consider awful things. Suicide, attempted murder, arson... he was the only reason she wasn't doing those things right now. Because he didn't want to be alone... and neither did she. The girl simply cared about him too much to abandon him for revenge.

A peice of jerky was daintily taken within webbed fingers and brought up to an awaited mouth filled with imposing, jagged teeth. His chewing was loud, twitchy and equally as awkward as Amaya's but that was the whole thing, he didn't mind. The chorus of sounds that would probably irritate someone else out of their own minds was as easily drowned out as... well, it just was. "A' think seh." The boy responded as he pushed a few stray crumbs of dried meat that had missed its destination back into his mouth. He could never remember much about any movie, even the ones he really liked but man did he loves movies. The ultimate entertainment. A different world trapped in a tiny box each time.
"Tar'ntineh di' this one?" He mumbled inquisitively, never minding that he was possibly missing some crucial dialogue. Royale with cheese was a serious topic of discussion, one could tell.

"I think so, yeah." Amaya looked around and then dug under the covers to pull out the case, the famous director's name on the front. "Yep. See?" She held it up for him to see, one of her long clawed fingers curling up and tapping on the case just under the man's name.

The sharkboy turned his head to peer at the video sleeve with a single black eye, nodding slowly once he'd noticed what she intended to point out. Settling back down into his seat, Alec allowed himself to recline until his still dorsal fins dug into the couch backing, just enough so that it wasn't uncomfortable. It was happening again. The movie wasn't holding his attention, in fact he was getting bored pretty quick. Sure there was shooting, but the disjointed storyline was just confusing him.
His crossed his feet-fins, then uncrossed them. Folded his hands. Poked his fingertips. Slowly he found himself glancing over, just slightly, so that she would be none the wiser. He had to say it, had to ask. It was nagging at him now. He wished he'd never thought of it in the first place. Ask her after the movie, stupid. He thought to himself but it had just started! The end was so far away. He'd wiggle in his seat if he could, impatiently.

Oblivious to Alec's inner turmoil, Amaya seemed to be enjoying the movie. She stayed silent for most of it... or at least until the part with the gimp.
Her eyes widened as the larger man was taken into another room, mouth gaping slightly. "Oh my god!" A pillow was dragged up and over her snout. "Oh my god!"

Alec snapped out of it the moment he heard the mini-outbursts from Amaya. His head snapped up and over to where the lizard girl was with a confused and alert expression though she seemed focused on the tv. Oh right, the movie. Curiously the boy glanced at the screen, though the images almost took minutes to actually sink in. "AH GAWD- ... GAH!!" The sharkboy began to flail, eyes wide as he grappled for the tv remote that was just out reach for his limited mobility. Godammit it was too far! ABORT MISSION. MAY DAY, MAY DAY!
Still flailing comically to match the rather sedate exclaimation from the iguana female, Alec gave up and flung his head into the corner of the couch, foot-fins wiggling.

"Ahhh! Oh my god!" Amaya squealed, shoving the pillow across her muzzle to cover her eyes and ear holes. She stayed like that for a couple of minutes until slowly pulling off the pillow.
"... Is it over...?" She asked hesitantly, peeking at the TV screen. Thankfully it was.
"Christ... whaaaat the hell." She looked over at Alec, rather disturbed by the whole thing.

Unfortunately the disturbing interruption had proved to throw the sharkboy dramatically off-course in his thoughts, finding himself dumbfoundedly staring at the television screen after his brief dive into the couch cushions. "Bad choice o' moveh." The youngster mumbled between his teeth and fumbled for the remote with the intention of shutting the blasting thing off. His Now that his sedate train of thought was ruined completely and replaced by an uncomfortable irritation, he just wanted the stupid movie to end.

"Sorry..." The iguana apologized, watching as the movie was switched off and the screen turned black. She hadn't expected something like... THAT. Ugh.
"Um..." Amaya began awkwardly. "What should we do now...?" She ventured, taking a strawberry and eating it.
