Fae watched Syren toss the new gryphon some grapes and suddenly felt excited. "SYRENREI! You have an Aerandir?!" She gasped and ran over. She examined the smooth blue feathers and horns, then the black and white markings on the mammal half. Hooves and deer like tail...she ran through her mind to remember what this animal was called. "Well, I know the one half is a peafowl, but the other...gazeal? No, that can't be it.." And let the geek to her work. << She was so busy observing the little one that she completely forgot about Sy's offer or apperance.
Pueblo's eyes widened a little and ducked as she saw her keeper's foot fly past her. Crouching to the ground, she stood back up and craned her neck around to clean some of the dirt from her feathers. It was so hard to be kept looking presentable. ;_; Standing on the tips of her toes, she eventually flew up onto the counter to get a better view of everything. But there, sitting in front of her, was a new gryphon. Blinking a little and going through words of wisdom from Fae, she walked up catiously and stared at the bird. Stretching her front legs out and tucking her head in, her ears lowered and gave the gryphon a friendly bow of greeting. Standing back up, her tail twitched. She clearly was larger than it at a closer range.

Delta seemed startled and confused at all this attention and turned to her caretaker of only a day with a sense of trust. Please, don't let me be handed over again her eyes seemed to plead. After all, that's what had happened lately, she had been handed off. Sy smiled and knelt next to Fae, Delta, and Pueblo, wiping her nose discreetly.
"Yes, this is my daughter Delta. Delta, this here is another Aerandir. She might look different, but she's a lot like you," Syrenrei reassured before she sneezed.
Delta fluffed out her chest a little proudly. Look at how this woman fawned over her and now... now she was someone's child! That'd show them all... however, there was this strange thing bowing to her. Despite what Syrenrei relayed to her, it was confusing since this other creature looked nothing like her. Oh well.
"Keee-aaa!" She offered in greeting as she reached for a grape out of Sy's hand hungrily.

Pueblo blinked as her ears lowered, afraid she had been rejected so easily. Confused, she looked to Fae for help. She tried her best, and she did what Fae told her to do! A soft dog-ish whimper vibrated in her throat as Delta continued to look at her funny.
Fae's eyes were only ripped awayby movement coming close to the astounishing gryphon, but did a double take when she caught that whimper and look of faliure upon her griff's face. "Aww, Abby, it's okay. Delta's new and probably hasn't met any other Aerandir before. Give her a chance, I'm sure she's not turning you down on purpose." Swiveling on her feet, she stood again and looked down to Sy. Aaiee. She didn't look too well. Steping a few millimeteres back, she smiled apologetically. "Sorry, I just get excited when I see a new Aerandir. Delta's beautiful. But I can't recall..ever seeing you carry a jar around?" How did this mysterious gryphon just suddenly 'appear' spontaniously?

Delta stared at Pueblo as she made weird noises and Sy looked for the right words to explain the situation to Fae. While Delta was faced with the confusing prospect of what in the world she had done wrong, Sy was trying to figure out a way to portray her beautiful new daughter as something other than an accident.
"Well, I was getting ready to leave Cetalu for home and Aly-... er... Alyosha bursted in the door and told me he had someone he thought it'd be perfect for me to care for. Evidently, two bottles got rather close to each other and fate decided to give us a miracle." At this wording Delta preened a little and consumed the last of the grapes in Sy's hand.
Determined to make a good impression on this creature, she regarded her and spoke in a quieter tone. "Keee-aaa." She couldn't see that she did anything wrong the first time except maybe being a little too loud. Yes, that must be it.

Fae wondered why Syren had corrected herself at Alyosha's nickname, but it was probably the cold doing her in. Grinning at the story a little, she shut her face and nodded inquisitly. It was cute the way Sy described the merging stage. "Ohh, I see," she said, walking around to pour herself a drink. "So he was thinking about you? Mm, I think Aly liikes yoou," she teased and grinned, shaking her head. She hoped Sy didn't think she was serious, Fae just liked to poke fun every once in awhile.
Pueblo's fur stood up a little, inflating her size before she shook it back all into place, her claws tapping against the slippery counter surface. Giving a stiffled yawn, she noticed the grapes Delta was eating and thought of an idea. It was time to test out her manners, and with that in mind, Pueblo plucked out a grape and held it out for the peafowl to take. See? She was nice!

Sy blinked and flushed involuntarily. Of course Fae didn't know what a sore subject it was... and after last night. Shaking her head she decided it was best not to think about it and his mixed signals. He knew where she stood. Let him make a move, if he had the balls. Trying to be indifferent she simply shrugged. "In passing maybe," she quietly answered, but then tried to be more optimistically bright. "I mean, like a friend. Not that... nevermind." ^^;;;;
Delta took the grape from Pueblo gratefully, and then looked at the creature more favorably. Now she was acting sensible... but what could Delta do? She didn't have any claws. As she tried to think something out, Sy suddenly picked her up, making her squawk a little.
"We need to be go looking at our new home," she offered a little nervously. Delta still trying to figure out what was going on, Syrenrei ducked back into the back room Aly had lent her and disappeared behind the curtain. @__@

Fae turned around and grinned at her suspiciously, holding back a laugh. Walking back to the group, she drank a little apple juice (since there was a lot of inside the fridge) and offered a little to Pueblo. As Sy announced she had to go, Fae frowned a little and waved. "Alright, get better soon!" Poor Syren, Fae thought. It was a wonder if she chased her away or just the fact that she wasn't feel well. Shrugging, she picked at a fruit bowl that had been graciously abondoned. Mmm, grapefruit.
Pueblo's ears rose and gave a peep in joy. Success! It seemed Fae's mannerism lessons proved correct about making friends. Perhaps she'd do it more often from now on. Stepping up to Delta as she was about to give her a friendly nuzzled, her front paws tripped forward as her new friend was scooped up and carried away. Gathering her balance, she watched her leave as her tail sank below her legs.

(( I have at least a typed page of the "analysis of the fluff"... I'll just post it up in introspective chunks, every so often when the thread's quiet - just to make it easier to read.))
Strangely, Kiro hadn't started work on the fluff as soon as he returned to his room. He prefered, instead, to actually read up on the Aerandir. He knew vaguely what was going on, although he'd not been told a massive amount before coming. What he found out fascinated him, and made him all the more eager to find out about the mystery fluff.
From where he sat cross-legged on the bed he glanced across at the fluff on the bedside table. It was a strange colour, a kind of grey-trying-to-be-white colour. Off-white, he supposed. Smiling to himself, he then took up the thick book he'd been loaned - deciding to get a vague idea of its contents before pursuing the fluff. There hadn't been any stress on how long he had - and he wanted to learn as much about his new 'occupation' as possible before starting.
The book itself was wonderously full off glossy images, split into several sections, mammals and birds being among the sections. The only time the feline-youth mentally reprimanded himself was when he realised he was in the 'fish section'. Fish, he decided grudgingly, were pretty irrelavent. Even if it was a Banded Rainbow fish.
"Pretty..." he murmured with an good-natured sigh, before flicking through to the bird section. He had no idea what he was supposed to be matching this mysterious fur to just yet, so he didn't bother getting bogged down with the detail - content just to read liesurely, look at the pictures, and perhaps take in something that might prove to be useful.
Eventually, satisfied, he closed the book. He hadn't read it in depth - only skimmed and examined the pictures. But he now felt close enough to his subject matter to start looking at the 'fluff'.

After Fae and Pueblo had their everlasting snack, she decided it was time to take a trip to the springs finally. She didn't know where to go, but venturing around the building again probably wasn't the best idea to pursue again. @_x
Walking into the main lobby, it was pindrop quiet. That's odd...it's usually full of people by now.. Looking around to a muffled sound coming from an unknown location, she checked down beside her to stare at Pueblo staring back up at her. Blinking, she didn't feel comfortable to the thought about to undress in an eerily quiet place. "H-hello?" She nerviously called out, her voice gentle and bounced around the barren walls.

Upon hearing no reply, this made her tense even more. "Uh, perhaps we should try this spa thing another time," she spoke to Pueblo. It's not supposed to be this quiet..
Tightening her grip around the towel, they started to walk towards the door, her wooden sandals slapping against the back of her feet and making a petty put put put sound.
Pueblo's claws clicked against the floor as she paced beside her keeper, looking behind her every so often just in case she saw Delta again.

((I'm going to assume Fae's left... just so I don't confuse myself Oo))
Kiro quickly realised that, before he could start looking at the fluff properly, a quick trip to the hard-to-find cupboard (looking for five minutes made it officially 'hard-to-find') was in order, to collect some things he might need. After collecting a few things, and being sure to lock the door again behind him. He also made a point of collecting a glass of water. Water would be important if he was going to clean it up.
Then, with his materials in hand, Kiro closed his door again. He didn't want to get a fright from anyone walking in while he was doing this. He was timid enough as it was and - despite Alyosha's reassurances - Kiro doubted how tough this fur could possibly be.
He picked it up gently, rubbing at it a little with his thumb. Small particles of dirt came off at his touch. He frowned at that, then dipping his thumb into the glass of water and repeating the process, wiping dirt slowly off the fur. As he wiped it clean, the boy narrowed his gaze slightly, leaning down to look more closely. He could... or could he...? Yes, he was pretty sure he could see his finger through the fur. Not clearly, but there was almost certainly a shift in colour as he did so. That would make it... not grey... Frowning a little at the discovery, Kiro made a note before continuing.
There also seemed to be two sets of fur. The one Kiro assumed as the top one seemed a little more... slick... than the other. The furrier layer was damp now, through the application of water, but Kiro got the impression he topmost layer would have kept it dry. Perhaps, although it wasn't now, the topmost layer had been protected? By oil perhaps? He frowned in thought, he was certain he'd read something somewhere about that. He made another note and continued.
Eventually, the fur was suitably cleaned up. By now, throughly confused about what colour it should be, Kiro just felt satisfied with how it looked right now. Clean. And that was a start.
With a sigh, he glanced at his notes, wondering if he could make anymore. They seemed a little vague... He chewed the end of his pencil for a moment before adding some guesses at what the animal might be like. What colour would it be in any event? Well... He leaned back for a few seconds, pondering this, before it struck him. Maybe it would reflect light? Lots of reflected, visible, light would make this animal...
"...white..." he murmured to himself as he wrote it down. It could be wrong... but as long as he bore in mind the fact it could be wrong, there wouldn't be that much of a problem.
Carefully putting down the fur, Kiro took the book up again, this time flicking straight through the pages to the mammals section - looking for something specific.

Syrenrei was proud of herself. She had avoided that bothersome kitsune for an entire day and a half and had managed to arrange to have her furniture shipped to her. While she mulled over the inventory of things being sent on the boat she sipped at a mug filled with tomato soup and lightly seasoned. Delta was at her feet on a cushion and was delicately eating sunflower seeds.
Most her her cold was gone except for the occasional sniffle or so. Other than a slightly irritable stomach, she was feeling much better, and this put Delta in a chipper mood- even if her mother stole the futon from her the night before.

Orian walked into the main room of the Centre, wearing a pair of dark blue silk pants, with a matching shirt, no shoes on, looking like he had just woke up. He wave absentmindedly to Sy as he headed to the kitchen for something to eat.

The next day, Fae had wondered if she should try to find the spas again. Sucking on her lower lip, she grabbed for her towel and satchel- you know, just in case.
Pueblo flying behind her, they walked into the Centre, hoping it wouldn't be so empty today. And sure enough, it wasn't. She instantly saw Syren sitting with Delta who was divinly picking at sunflower seeds. "Hey Syren, you're looking much better today," Fae greeted as she walked over.
Pueblo gave a little trill as her soft feathers silently landed her in front of Delta. Her claws clicked against the floor as the larger gryphon bowed to her, curling one paw up and leaning away from the other. Perhaps, this would be a more promising introductary.

^^;;; "Sy, just Sy, please." She corrected gently, motioning for the other woman to sit with her. Indeed, she was feeling much better, and this had put her in better spirits... plus her sister, excited at the thought of having a niece, had told her there was a surprise for her in the shipment. Sydney always "called" Sy around her birthday. With the unpredictable nature of the sisters, this surprised currently occupied Sy's mind other than a rather attractive kitsune she was sharing quarters with.
Delta blinked and looked at Pueblo, not really understanding this weird method of saying hello. Actually, the only thing that she could imagine anyone making up an elaborate sign for would be food, so she moved her head over so that Pueblo could share her bowl of sunflower seeds. I mean, who WOULDN'T want some of these tasty morsels?
