<< Do we haaaaaaave to do this training course? Let's go do the sun one again, that one was fun at least. I don't want to play some silly game... >>

"Too bad Sylvia, Jenga today. It's required so we have to do it." The trainee was moving towards the Life training portal while flicking out his phone thumbing through the contacts. He paused looking at Candace and Jordan before sending a message to both.

Text to Candace & Jordan

From Ro: Hey guys, post Weapon Return Jenga party? At Life Portal see you soon?

"And now. We wait."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 01, 2012 12:30 pm

Text to Ro
Jenga to me is not a party. It's a punishment.

It was a few minutes before another text from her arrived.

Text to Ro
I'll be there.

She needed the bandages. Every mission was a reminder how badly she needed those bandages. Candace had failed on her own and she'd failed when playing with Clarice, but that was a long time ago! Surely she would do better now. "I can't believe I'm agreeing to this." Candace sighed as she approached Ro, pouting at the supervising senior Hunters a moment before she turned back to the Mist trainee. She was only doing it because she needed the bandages and because it was a Mist trainee.

Candace hated Jenga.

"Ever played Jenga here before?"

Quote:
Text to Ro: Guess I gotta do it sometime, and I'd rather do it with someone I know will only draw a mustache on me when I get darted. I'll be there in five.

"So I hear it's time for an exercise in masochism," Jordan said as he entered the room.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 01, 2012 1:03 pm

"Never done it before." He said to Candace as he slid his phone away with Jordan's conformation. "But from what I hear it's a hell of a s**t hole. Being drugged over and over and over again."

"C'mon don't pout so much. Look who it is?" He waved past Candace towards Jordan, "We have a full party right? Shouldn't be too terrible yea?" He nodded towards Jordan proper. "That's the plan today. So how about we get inside and get it all started right?"

"Jenga with tranquilizers surrounded by a mote of piranha and with markers at our disposal to draw on the faces of failures." Candace clarified, plucking up one of the aforementioned markers. "I've gotten all kinds of things drawn on my face playing this damn game."

When Ro told her not to pout she simply pouted more out of spite, turning to Jordan with that same look as he arrived. How was this a comfort? Jordan had a mischievous side! How the hell was this a comfort?! "Ladies first," Candace gestured to the doorway that led to the 'battle arena'.

Apparently she wasn't referring to herself.

"Sounds like.... well the first two parts really suck. Third parts kinda nice. Can't be as bad as Rin drawing dicks on everyone while we were passed out in the Horsemen caves..."

Pouting back at Candace he paused collecting his own marker.

He stared at Jordan for a long time then the portal.

"Well? She said Ladies first Jordan and you're the only one dating a guy currently soooooo...." He started grinning but was ready to dodge any marker attacks.

Jordan grinned at Candace and picked up a marker, the glint in his eye suggesting that she might be right to be concerned. "Don't worry," he said. "I'm classy. I only draw mustaches, not dicks."

He raised an unimpressed eyebrow at Ro. "Even if I were a woman, that wouldn't make me a lady. I just don't have the qualifications. In fact, I'm not sure any of us do." He smirked. "Anyway, I'm pretty sure Sylvia can explain to you in detail why your assumption is wrong. Right, Sylvia?" He clapped a hand on Ro's shoulder, then one on Candace's, and steered both of them towards the portal. "Crazies first."

"I still don't trust you, Jordan." Never.

Candace had expected some kind of protest or fuss over her referring to the two of them as ladies, she had to give Ro props for instead calling Jordan a lady. She laughed until he said none of them had the qualifications to be a lady. Her laughter cut off immediately and she narrowed her eyes at Jordan. "Speak for yourself, sir."

Wait, what was he doing? She blinked, planting her feet on the ground and trying to back away from the entrance to the arena. No Jenga no Jenga noooooo! "I'm not crazy, you jerk!" Her heel slipped on the flooring and she lost her fight against going into room with that game.

She was not crazy. Damnit.

Candace sighed. "So who's going first?" She asked as she reached into her pocket and produced a small packet of jerky, breaking it into pieces and walking to the edge of the platform. She tossed the jerky into the water, watching the piranha go crazy on the stuff. Life Hunters needed new hobbies.

BATTLE ARENA

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

General Information
The portal opens up into an observation room, and down the stairs, an odd chamber for something like hunter training. At the center of a piranha-filled pool stands a solid stone table and several chairs. The Life Arena was built underneath the demolitions and ballistics testing areas, and the chamber rumbles with the occasional explosions above. Pinpoint red lasers sweep across the room regularly, as if hidden snipers are searching for a nice target. In the center of the table sits a wooden tower, made up of smaller wooden blocks. Yes. That's right. The Life Hunters prefer to train via Jenga.

Note: Distraction techniques and Yo Momma jokes are considered viable weapons when playing competitively.

If you fail: you have knocked down the tower! A small dart hits the back of your neck. You come to several hours later, and hope Dr. H didn't do anything to your body while you were unconscious. When you look into the mirror...

If you win: you have reached 50 points! You get a sharpie marker to do with as you please. peen points go to those with the highest scores.

    Mechanics
    - by carefully removing pieces of the tower, you earn points and advance to the next round. As the rounds continue, the odds grow steadily against you. Rolling a 1 at any point means you have knocked down the tower. Please do enjoy your mystery dart. Anything after reaching 50 points is purely for peen.

    - you may roll pieces individually (suggested for group play) or in batches of 5 (basically, a full round.)

Roland pulled out his phone flicking it open to a picture of Jordan and Ro sitting with a bag of Doritos in each of their hands, a series of dicks, mustaches, and other random drawings on each others faces.

"He's lying by the way. Dicks are a sometimes doodle."

<< You said you deleted that! >> Ro only smiled. He missed Sylvia and having her back made things well, happier in a high pitched squealing girly way?

"Lady, women, technical Terms Jordan. Candace meets the biological markers but she's the one who started this little game." What came next made Roland frown, and now he remembered the reasons he didn't like Sylvia as she went into a VERY detailed rant about Jordan's position in well... AHEM. Activities thanks to Ferros spilling the beans during Golem week.

"Thanks Jordan, when I pass out it'll be the soft sighs of Sylvia describing you naked.... wonderful."

<< eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee >>

He flinched as he moved to the portal Candace scrambling beside him as they marched in. In the center of the room stood the Jenga tower. "Uhhh I guess I'll take one for the team and start us off?" Assembling the tower from the last game played before sitting down to stare at it debating his next move...

After a few minutes of staring he finally took a deep breath quickly removing the first three pieces of the tower before finally letting his breath out again.

"S-see? Not so bad right? Tower didn't even wobble!" He looked to Candace and paused, why was she feeding the phirana jerky? Wouldn't that just make them more hungry or something?

Jordan shrugged at Candace as he stepped through the portal himself. "You're the one that said ladies first and then stayed put," he pointed out. "The implications are clear. Anyway, as the Cheshire Cat said, we're all mad here. How do I know you're mad? You came here, didn't you?"

"I prefer the phrase gently bending the truth," he said in response to Ro and his photo. He snickered at the second comment. "Yes, well, you implied that being in a relationship with a guy made me a woman. I feel it's only fair to subject you to a little mental torture in response to that giant pile of bullshit."

He took his seat at the table and carefully took hold of one of the blocks, drawing it smoothly out of the pile.

"Don't you quote the Cheshire cat at me, Miller." Candace playfully commanded, tossing the rest of the jerky into the water and walking back to the game where the boys were sitting. Three pieces, one piece...Candace was feeling ambitious. She'd start off with five. Go big or go home, right?

"But everything changed when the Truth Benders attacked." What was this? Stuck up Must Study All The Time Candace knew cartoon references? Well then. "He's got a point. I'm usually the one in control in my relationships, that's supposedly supposed to be the man's job. Does that make me a man, Ro~?" Candace did her best to sound hurt by his implications like she hadn't started this whole argument. The first few pieces had her worried, but the fifth one seemed almost like child's play.

Candace smiled. "Not bad at all."

"Truth Bending?" His eyebrow went up as he looked at Candace, "You are a cartoons person? Saturday mornings fuzzy slippers the full deal?"

Turning back to Jordan he made a thoughtful face then shrugged, "Fair enough." He reached out snagging two more blocks putting them in his pile to match Candace's five. Before shaking his head at her, "No it just makes you a strong independent women?" He laughed a bit as she tried to make it sound like she was hurt.

"All seriousness, Jordan, I'm sorry if that joke was too far, Candace, you're a very lovely lady and a very helpful teacher." He wiggled one last brick from his turn in the air before placing it back on top. "If all goes well, like the Tower, I can be a good luck charm again."

"Would you prefer Alice? Curiouser and curiouser? The book version, of course. You don't really want me to break out in song," Jordan laughed. "Perhaps the Mad Hatter would be more appropriate. Or the White Rabbit, considering the conversation - I'm late, I'm late, to a very important date?"

He chuckled at Ro. "Nah, dude, it's okay. Mildly sensitive subject. It's crap like that that feeds into the negative stereotypes, so I point it out. Anyway, insults just mean I like you. You've both probably figured that out already. Hm, I think I'm a little behind here ..."

He studied the tower with narrowed eyes, and slid out three more pieces in quick succession. The third one caught on the edge, and the tower wobbled. Jordan held his breath as it swayed, then seemed to settle ... and an explosion somewhere overhead shook the chamber and sent the pieces rattling onto the table.

In the next moment, there was a dart sticking out of his forearm, and he had just enough time to blink at it before slumping over in his chair.

Candace shook her head. "Not especially, but some things are impossible to avoid sometimes. I used to keep my television on as background noise when I was studying something particularly dull. But I do love lazy mornings with fuzzy slippers. I have four pairs of them~." Shoe addict. Why did she need four pairs of fuzzy slippers? Candace watched the two men intently like a cat waiting for the fish to come close enough for her to snatch out of the water. Someone mess up. Someone mess up. Someone mess up. Her elbows were on the edge of the table and her head was propped up with both hands under her chin, she was even fighting against a smile.

"It's true, if he makes fun of you it's a good thing." Candace commented distractedly, her attention entirely on the tower. "Can I be the Queen of Hearts?" She added with a sweet, sweet smile in Jordan's direction. He could be whatever Wonderland character he wanted to be as long as she could be the Queen. Ro's compliment got her attention and she reached out to playfully tap the tip of Ro's nose. "Good boy. Now if only everyone--" The tower collapsed. Who did it. Who did it?! Ro?! She sat up straight and watched for a dart. She didn't hear it, she didn't see it, but what she did hear was a thud.

Candace turned to find Jordan had fallen over. Way to go, Jordan. She grinned, plucking the dart from Jordan's arm and tossing it aside. She marker came next. "Sit him up, please." She requested to Ro, grinning like the Cheshire cat Jordan had been quoting only a few minutes before. Once he was sat up Candace got to work. Oh, this would be a beautiful start. She was so happy to be drawing on someone else's face.

When Jordan awoke he would find a purple compact mirror sitting beside his head on the table and the jenga tower was back to the condition it had been in before he had knocked it down.

His face was simply...beautiful.
