“We live in a world that is beyond our control, and life is in a constant flux of change. So we have a decision to make: keep trying to control a storm that is not going to go away or start learning how to live within the rain.” ― Glenn Pemberton, Hurting with God
Mintaka's face rose to the growing clouds in the night sky, mottling the stars and moon from view. Once upon a time, clad in the white moon's aura, she'd look to the stars and the homes they housed. Her planet was there, she thought, but like the clouds that made the bright lights disappeared....it was gone and faded into the mirrorspace.
If she could offer the mirror more then she already did, she would. Beyond her life, Mirrorspace had taken and demanded and returned. Like today, It demanded her attention. Energy to gather. Wraiths to feed in their own way.
She was less controlled by the madness tonight, already Hydrus drained and returned the energy back to the space it came. She was the epitome of serene in the night. Who knew what Mirrorspace wanted tonight? Thunder rolled in the background and she smiled.
Perhaps something interesting would happen tonight.

The sound of thunder comforted her in a primal way she couldn't explain. Rain would soon fall and mesmerize her as embers did--but she needed to get home first. Work had finished later than usual at the TEArimisu, and it made her antsy to be home in time. And it was darker than usual thanks to the cloud cover to boot. Someone like Stormy needed to be off the streets.
But there she was, with her phone out, unable to head to her bus stop because she was hyperfocused on the texts that kept coming in. Dad, telling her to get a real major in something that would get her money. That he needed to retire soon and couldn't help her with student loans. ███ not even trying to argue against the evidence put forth. I hadn't seen you in a month? I thought we were done. Words and words and words that spiraled from screen to the mind.
Against instincts, she put her phone away and decided against the bus stop today. Today was the long route. The rain route. Let the misery seep through her clothes. Why not? She wasn't being alert, not through the welling tears in her eyes and the stifled noises, the bent head, the hands jammed in her pockets. At best she had her keys, which a fist curled about.
Beejoux unsure if you're coming in yet or not but just in case!

Getting stuck out in a storm was really the last thing Reven wanted, but it was beginning to seem more and more likely as she raced along the sidewalks towards Rory and her dad's apartment. It'd been stupid not see about a ride home when she'd finished at HQ, but it was pride that kept her from doing it now. She'd made such a big deal about being more independent. About not needing as much help. And now look where that got her? A clap of thunder made her jump, hair standing on end as she put on an extra burst of speed to dart around a corner. Only to come to a sudden, confused stop. "Wha...what is that?" It was almost familiar. Almost what she'd felt when she'd realized Hydra was her's, but not quite. It had her turning back around, head tilting as followed the feeling around another corner and right to a pretty young woman with pink hair. She looked...distraught? Something. Pale features puzzled, Reven walked over to give the girl's leg a gentle nudging with her nose.

If a gathering had been required the evening, Mintaka was pleased to know she wasn't the only one out in the storm. Even as she made her way through the park, intent on finding the hidden mirror that allowed Dark mirrors to travel here to leave, she was pleasantly surprised to see someone else.
Even if that someone else didn't seem as happy to be there. The first inkling of rain started with a warm sprinkle, which caused the eternal to drop a bit away from the woman. Before she could gauge whether to approach her, because her head was bent low, she saw a flash of white.
A cat, it looked like. Mintaka's gaze zoomed in on the star on the forehead and a soft smile played on her lips. Instead of revealing herself right away though, she wanted to watch. If the guardian revealed themselves, perhaps Mintaka could offer the girl a trip through mirrorspace to awaken to possibilities.
She moved as close as she could to hear, gaze only moving to locate the nearest mirror placed for the dark mirrors and landing on one of the parks playgrounds. A whole mirror wall that was probably intented on artistic design.
Medigel Figured she could talk to Reven a bit before Mintaka shoved her through a mirror LOL

Lost in her head, in her own inner tempest, she jumped when something brushed her leg. Stormy fumbled for her keys but stopped once she realized it was just a cat. She wiped at her eyes, as if the animal could tell the difference from it or the rain that began to fall. It felt good, like little taps on her head from an invisible being. Someone else crying. “You should be somewhere dry,” she said to the cat, unaware that she was being watched. “D’you need help?”

The pink haired girl wasn't aware that they were being watched, but Reven had an inkling. She could feel the eternal senshi out there somewhere relatively close, but she couldn't see them as she scanned the stormy darkness. The felt...different. Chaos, but not the same as Hydra. Ears flicking back, she rubbed along the poor girl's shins again before rising up on back legs to place her front paws on the side of her leg. It's not me that needs help. How was she supposed to approach this? Was she just supposed to introduce herself and give this poor girl a run down on the war going on beneath her nose and her role in it? And didn't she need a general-sovereign as well? Where was Silk when she needed him to answer all these questions. "I..." It came out a lot more shy than was usual for the kitten. "I'm here to help you, actually." pixie nyxie do you want us to quote you on each tag still or wait until we need Mini?

Stormy merely blinked when the cat started talking. Sentient animals were the least things of her imagination, to be honest. She blinked again when she felt several rain drops hit her head, and without thinking she moved to father the cat and shelter it from the incoming rain. It wasn’t so terribly strange, really. She’d almost hyperventilated earlier, and the lightheadedness was still lingering. She was a weak willed thing: of course reality would start to bend in her eyes at the first sign of turmoil. This was probably the beginning of a mental breakdown, actually. What an odd feeling. It was easier to just think of the kitten. The rain started to pick up, but while it felt good to Stormy, she didn’t want to let the animal suffer from her decision. She wasn’t as familiar with this part of the city, but there was an awning ahead they could take shelter in. She made a beeline for it, unaware that youma were gathering nearby and picking her trail up, anxious nonetheless. Being alone had been one thing, but securing the cat’s safety suddenly reminded her of the risks of not taking that bus in the evening. “You don’t look like a stray,” she said to herself once under the safety of the awning. “Hmm.” Beejoux she said we could move w/o her this turn!

Pale brows arched at the girl just looked down at her in an seemingly uncomprehending way. It made Reven question whether or not non-powered individuals could understand her, but surely they had to, or else how would they ever wake any senshi up? At least she was moving the pair of them out of the rain, that was good, though the kitten did wonder what was going on in this poor girl's life that had left her discounting her own comfort. "I'm not a stray," she answered softly, head tilting as she looked up at her. "I'm not a normal cat either." Her tail flicked idly back and forth where it lay over her arm. "And you're not a normal human." There were probably better ways of going about telling someone they were a senshi, but Reven didn't have the practice of it yet. This was the first one she'd found that needed awakening. "You're something special." Rising up on her haunches in the young woman's arms she lay her paws on her chest so she could be closer to eye level. "You've got magic in you, and I can bring it out."

That was a little harder to shrug off to her imagination. Still, Stormy blinked down at the cat, processing slowly. Or perhaps too quickly. It was that weird, in between stage, in the way that the heat could make one feel cold after a long period of time. Staring down a talking animal, red eyed and owlish, made it harder to believe it was her own bruised emotional self trying to pep talk, but it certainly tried for a moment more. And then, just like that, Stormy accepted that this was real. “I’m not anything,” she told the cat in a low tone, her voice hitching slightly. Maybe she said that to anyone who picked her up and quite possibly could get her a meal. Or at least out of the rain. Either way, Stormy couldn’t possibly be anything other than another disappointment. “I-I’m not—“ Something crashed against the dumpster across the street. Stormy jumped and clutches the cat closer, terror pooling in her stomach as she saw several glowing eyes in the rainy twilight turn to her. The creature materialized from those shadows, revealing a monstrous mix of a snake and a canine that was easily the length of a minivan. As it opened its mouth in a snarl, two fangs the size of her arm descended from the roof of its mouth. A wordless cry left Stormy as she turned and hurled herself away, rain pelting them both as she did. The youma battered another garbage bin aside as it began half slithering-half crawling after her. She didn’t dare look back, but it sounded like it would gain on her in mere seconds. Oh God, oh God—

The cat frowned at the girl as she denied the truth. "Yes you are, You're-" The both of them heard the loud banging, and Reven jumped in the girl's arms, claws curling briefly into the front of her shirt as they stared out at the youma that was creeping towards them. Reptilian and dog like, the fur along Reven's spine stood up as pale eyes snapped back against her skull. The girl didn't need the prompt, but the kitten couldn't help but squeaking out. "Run!" Back into the ran, heavy drops pelting them in the face. The girl wasn't looking back, but Reven had stood in her arms, paws on her shoulder, too peer back at the thing now chasing them down. It's going to catch us!I've got to make a pen, I've got to tell her what to say, but I can't do that unless we can stop, and we can't stop!"We've got to find somewhere to hide!" Anywhere, so long as it'd give Reven the moment she'd need to get the pen. After that they'd be alright, she could power up and fight it.

Youmas. The origami senshi sighed as her following of the pair had been interrupted by the sudden appearance of the wild beast that Negaverse called pets. Unlike the wraiths of the mirrorspace, Youma's ran with no leashes, no care. Some Nega, she though, had been a fool and couldn't handle the responsibility with their energy draining friend.
The Dmc moved from her spot of where she was watching, centering herself between Stormy, the guardian and the youma. A gentle smile played on her lips as she held out her arms.
"Origami Blizzard*" The paper fell at first like snow, before sweeping up and directly hitting the youma. Her attack wasn't strong enough to wipe the monster alone, but it allowed for her to turn and take Stormy's hand.
"Hello." Her voice was calm, with a sense of urgency. "Guardian, Can she be awakened?" Even now, she could see a mirror portal admist the alley way, probably left by another eternal for quick travelling. She moved Stormy and Reven through the alley, her magic quickly fading as the youma's howls became more acute.
"I don't have time for the whole spiel, if you can be awakened, then I will do it now." Mintaka turned her gaze to Stormy, "I'll give you the power to defend yourself."
Her gaze fell to the white kitten, "I apologize, We will give you the power to defend yourself, in the night, against these beast. It's either a yes or no..." She stopped in the mirror, her hand shoving into it to prepare for the awakening .
Beejoux Origami Blizzard With her final upgrade, Mintaka can summon up to 1000 cranes, stars, flowers and various other small origami shapes that attack much like her two attacks before, Instead of just being blinded (but still focused on blinding), it reaches an actual damaging amount of papercuts. It stings, small cuts form in the most of annoying spots and are hard to deflect. This effect last up to a minute. Range is 15ft max and with the heavy amount of origami shapes, a deflection can only happen by violent winds...(Such as strong gust or gales of storm strength), or if the target is out of range.

She winced as the cat's claws dug through her wet clothes, but it was run or die now. Stormy knew about those things in the dark, about the disappearances and accidents and deaths and possibly cryptids--knew as much as any savvy civilian did, anyway. It was her just dessert for choosing to not play it safe for once. But it was when she felt a knot forming in her side and the adrenaline pump slowing down that someone intervened.
Skidding to a halt (and nearly tripping in the process), Stormy turned to see a white haired woman step into the fray with the serenity of a park walk. Out of nowhere, hundreds of paper cranes assaulted the monster in a blinding white wind, forcing it back with a howl of pain. Her eyes were still focused on the creature when she felt her hand get taken, and she jumped a second time. Before she knew it, though, Stormy was whisked away into a nearby alleyway, still clutching at the kitten with her other hand like her life depended on it. And somehow, if her lightheaded-ness and panic weren't mistaking her, that was also what the woman was saying. There was something else there: a mirror. an extraordinary mirror whose surface was like water. Her hand went in easily, and she felt nothing but oddity and chill.
It was too much for her. Everything felt so acutely in the midst of the life or death situation, but Stormy was not one to fight or for flight--rather, she froze. Death was what she had considered, and now death was coming. It was all unraveling. She wasn't worthy.
"I-I can't," she whispered hoarsely, tears rising up again with the fear. Couldn't what, though? Die? Fight? Understand? She trembled like a leaf under the rain, only unconsciously trying to keep the cat dry under her chin and hair. There was no movement to drag her hand back, nor to move forward. She simply stared up at the white-haired woman, forlorn and lost and afraid.
In the distance, the youma howled again. It was blinded by the thousand cuts to its eyes, but it could still scent them out.

What was that?! Senshi magic, that much she was certain of, but Reven had never seen or felt a senshi like the one that had just stepped in to defend them. Chaotic, she could say that for certainty, but there was something different about it. Something off. She didn't feel like Hydra did. Like the difference between regular and diet cola, kind of... A dark fuku, but instead of bat wings there were feathers, and there were no cracks at brow or chest. Reven frowned up at her, puzzled, before the question snapped her back into focus. "What? Oh, yeah, she can." The poor girl's broken voice had Reven butting her head up under her chin again. "Yes you can. You can totally do this." It also wasn't as if she had a whole lot of choice at the moment, but she didn't say that out loud. She looked up at the senshi again, ears saddled. "What do you need me to do?"

Mintaka smiled sadly at Stormy and her gaze dropped to the kitten. "We're going to mirrorwalk." She waited, "And once we are out, you'll have to give her, her pen and name." The howl got louder with how much closer the youma came.
"I'm sorry, little one, but now you don't have a choice." She shook her head, "It's death if you stay. You and the kitten if the youma decides it wants more then you." She took Stormy's hand, dragging her as gently as she could to the mirror.
"Take a deep breath, don't think. Before you know it." Mintaka moved and pushed Stormy and Reven through. Immediately as soon as Stormy was pushed through the mirror, she would exit back out. Her attire changed, the colors of dark mirror and the baby doll transparency.
"Quick Guardian...." Mintaka rose her hands as the youma found them again, "Tell her name, her pen."

Having never done the whole awakening thing Reven didn't have much of a scope of reference for how that all should work, but she was pretty certain mirrors weren't usually a part of it. Still, stepping inside of one had been interesting, to say the least. On the other side, the girl no longer as she had been, the kitten flicked an ear at the order as she looked up. "Lorelei," she said quickly, glancing back towards the other senshi and the approaching youma. "Your name is Lorelei!" Jumping down, Reven darted for the wall of the alley, jumped up against it, and kicked back into an argument him flip. When she landed a dark handled pen landed beside her. Grabbing it in her mouth she darted back to drop it at Lorelei's feet. "Take this, and be prepared to fight. You can do this!"
